  1. With the tax charged in Miami, all of the cruise lines pay it. Miami doesn't count every individual drink. Miami just charges NCL a flat amount. The cruise lines that don't charge guests per drink are using money from every guests' fare to pay that tax. Even those who don't drink on Celebrity (for ex.) are paying part of that tax. NCL just uses drinkers to pay a bit more of that cost. Celebrity isn't being nice and absorbing that tax. Celebrity guests have already paid it. Celebrity guests just don't see the amount that they pay towards that tax bill.
  2. I booked a Duplex Suite on World America. It wasn't just for the two bathrooms, though. I don't like the balcony on the Royal Suites for the World Class. The Duplex balcony on any class isn't great, either. The upper balcony on the World Class Duplex is a nice addition. The Meraviglia RS balcony wasn't great but the Meraviglia Plus ships have larger/better balconies for the RS. The OS balconies on the World Class aren't great, to be honest. We're a family of 4 so the bathrooms are important. I'll miss the included cabana/pergola on the sundeck but I can first come/first serve one, I guess. I'll still have a hot tub on the lower balcony. Meraviglia had the best balcony hot tub for us, then Seaside EVO class, then Seaside. I'll see where World Class fits in the group. The Seaside EVO ships Owner's Suite balcony hot tub is too small for the 4 of us. It isn't really possible to have a great balcony, great stateroom, great hot tub, and two bathrooms in the Yacht Club.....first world problems, I know. 😜
  3. Even with the World Class, RS and OS... there's only 1 bathroom. Another miss...
  4. Not only that, there's only 1 bathroom in MSC Owner's Suites and Royal Suites. 🙁
  5. Booking opens earlier for Haven/suite guests and for Club Balcony Suite guests.
  6. That upper door leads to the emergency exit. I don't think that the alarm goes off, though. I wouldn't use it. You have to go up to get to the Yacht Club enclave. The Duplex Suites were originally Aurea Suites so they don't go directly to "inside".
  7. You probably won't die and possibly won't get into a fight. 🥺
  8. Good point. If the parent/guardian won't be on the cruise, more steps need to be taken before boarding. ...need more info from the OP.
  9. If everyone is at the terminal and checking in together, it shouldn't be a problem. For her onboard spending account, each child can be attached to separate cards.
  10. The exact same thing happened to me in 2018 on my first MSC cruise on the then new (a few months old) Seaside. It must be a Fincantieri thing. It must be a Fincantieri thing. 😉
  11. That was AFTER the mods scrubbed the thread clean.😧
  12. Before this thread reaches DEFCON 1, option #3 is what you are looking for.
  13. I've been lucky to never have an issue with luggage (knock on particle board, MDF, whatever cheap stuff that the cruise lines use) no matter what tags have been on them. One thing with Haven suites outside of the complex is that eventually, those bags end up all together with the neighboring non-Haven bags and get delivered all together.
  14. We still had a seating area at Port Canaveral as of a couple of months ago. It did spill over into the common area. We had plenty of snacks delivered including cookies with my kids' name written in chocolate sauce. Mini-fridge items, chips, chocolate were refilled at no charge for RS/OS. RS and OS still have a reserved cabana/pergola on the sundeck. The rest are either first come/first serve or can be rented depending on the ship. I'm not sure what this means. It's RARE but can be done in certain situations. Breakfast on the balcony can be done everyday. You CAN go off-menu for room service. Just be very clear and specific on your request. You CAN get what Americans call pepperoni (and other custom toppings) on pizza just be clear otherwise you will get sliced peppers. It's actually a funny story why Americans call it pepperoni due to a translation error. Yes, custom orders can be done in the Yacht Club restaurant. Speak to the chef in advance, if needed. I ordered something special for my daughter and she was the only one in the restaurant who had it that night. We got an assortment of full-sized bottles and could switch out what we didn't want. We kept what we liked. Other than what is in the shop, I've never tried to buy a bottle of anything on the ship but my butler did say that I could buy a bottle of Ice Imperial since it was out of stock at the bar. Someone the previous week went through 5 bottles a day and cleaned out the Yacht Club bar. Also, I bought a bottle in Jamaica and had no issue enjoying it in the suite. Nobody held or confiscated anything.
  15. The "parade" and the amount of "awkwardness" will vary by port/terminal. Some places are a mess of people and the Haven escort will squeeze a group between a crowd of people. Some places have a more discreet process. For ports of call, you can get in line with everyone else....but I prefer to bypass the line when I can. 😉
  16. Another thing to consider is that depending on the ship, the HI category could be towards the front of the ship near the Haven or nearly all the way aft away from the Haven.
  17. Been there, done that. It rained nearly all day but we still stopped.
  18. Joy has non-Haven suites but Joy's suites (SP, SC) have more restrictions than the other non-Haven suites on NCL.
  19. I had a cancelled excursion (due to weather) take 5 months for a refund. 😔 It was refunded in the form of a check that was mailed to me (not returned to the original form of payment) but I did eventually get every penny back to me. My BEST refund for a down payment was 11 days but the "norm" for me has been about 30 days.
  20. I've seen it in dailies before but haven't seen it in recent dailies. The decorations are probably still banned but probably aren't a high enough priority to list on every daily.
  21. Unlimited Soda Package $9.95 USDper person per day ITEM #: UBPTAS Enjoy endless fountain soda throughout your cruise. 22. How many people will be in total? Is getting 2 of the HI staterooms a possibility? It would be outside of the Haven complex but everyone would get everything "Haven". It is a long walk, though.
  23. Price wise, how does Haven + connecting balcony compare to 2BR Haven Villa that's in the complex for your cruise?
