  1. If guests 3&4 are over 21 and get FAS, they would be charged the service fee of about $20 per person per day ($19.80pppd now or $21.80pppd after Jan. 1st). If guests 3&4 are under 21, they don't get charged the FAS service charge but NCL hopes that someone will buy the soda package for them and pay about $10 pppd plus 20% (11.94pppd). An alternative is to pay over $4 for a can of soda. Also, nothing is actually free. It's paid for in one way or another.
  2. I agree that it is frustrating but there's also the fact that the Haven concierge on the ship can say the opposite of what the NCL phone rep says. Phone rep says "...no one under 16 in the infinity pool.." Concierge says "...sure, your kids can use the infinity pool..." A different rep can say the opposite. A different concierge can say the opposite.
  3. No.... "CAN I BUY DINNER FOR SOMEONE ELSE WITH MY SPECIALTY DINING PACKAGE? Specialty Dining Packages are sold individually and cannot be transferred. If you wish to pay for someone else’s dinner, you will not be able to use your own SDP." "SDPs are personal (per person, e.g., 2 guests cannot share 1 SDP meal) and non-transferable (guests cannot give their SDP meals to someone else)."
  4. That has been my guess for a while. It makes the most sense BUT NCL has .... Deck 16 The Haven Sundeck - Soak up the sun and take a dip in the mesmerizing infinity pool. Then let the world melt away as you relax in the sauna and cold room or enjoy a soak in the hot tub. No matter how you plan to spend your time, this private outdoor sanctuary — exclusive for Haven guests — provides the perfect escape. Access to Sundeck restricted to age 16+. Deck 17 The Haven Sundeck - Soak up the sun and take a dip in the mesmerizing infinity pool. Then let the world melt away as you relax in the sauna and cold room or enjoy a soak in the hot tub. No matter how you plan to spend your time, this private outdoor sanctuary — exclusive for Haven guests — provides the perfect escape. Access to Sundeck restricted to age 16+. ...even though only deck 16 has the infinity pool.
  5. Website has... What about smoking on the ship? "As the health and well-being of our guests and crew is of the utmost importance, indoor public areas, with the exception of the cigar lounges and the casino, throughout all our ships are smoke-free. Dedicated outdoor areas are assigned to smoking." Indoor Areas "Cigar Lounge: Cigar smoking is permitted in the designated cigar lounge. Cigarettes, pipe, electronic cigarettes and vapor smoking devices are not permitted in the cigar lounge" "Casino: Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Joy and Norwegian Encore have a designated smoking room within the Casino. On all other ships, active Casino players may smoke cigarettes, electronic cigarettes and vapor smoking devices in the Casino during gaming hours. Cigar and pipe smoking is not permitted in the Casino." "On Norwegian Escape, cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, cigars, pipe smoking and vapor smoking devices are permitted on deck 16 mid-ship, port side (limited area) and Spice H2O, starboard side." No. Spice H2O is in the aft section of the ship. There is a section for smoking there.

  7. Is that an escape hatch in the last picture? If someone freaks out and refuses to go down or gets stuck, would they escape through the hatch and then through suite 16790?🤔
  8. On paper, it's a 6-pack for each person who has the PBP (whether through promo or purchase). We'll have to wait until Jan. to see what actually happens.
  9. If you're outside of final payment date, cancel and rebook. If you're inside of final payment date, you're probably going to share.
  10. For the standard/promo package, the service charge is currently $19.80pppd. ($138.60 for 7 days) After the increase, the standard/promo package service charge will be $21.80pppd. ($152.60 for 7 days) $14 increase but you get the 6-pack of water.
  11. PBP goes up to $109 PPBP goes up to $138 PBP will include a 6-pack of water. The service charge on the promo goes up by $2 pppd.
  12. Based on my past NCL bookings when changes happened after I booked, you should be locked into what you were originally charged and grandfathered. You might not get the water boxes but the staff will probably be so used to giving nearly everyone a case, you could score a 6-pack.
  13. I've seen a few photos with the ship pointing the "wrong way" but most of the time, the bridge is pointing to the lighthouse.
  14. "The revolutionary company focuses on an impact model, taking into consideration both how the water is sourced and packaged. Flow is 100% spring water in a plant-based carton. The carton is made of 82% renewable materials – the paper carton is made from trees grown in responsibly-managed forests and the cap and shoulder are made from a sugarcane-based plastic. It is refillable and recyclable." - NCL
  15. That's what it seems like. When I first saw it, I thought that it was 1 box per guest 1&2 but it looks like they will get a $19.95 (plus 20% 😛) 6-pack for $2 pppd more than what's currently charged.
  16. Usually (99%?) starboard side but technically, the ship can dock in either direction. When I book, I presume that starboard side will face the island.

  18. We knew that the price increase was coming. PBP going from $99 to $109 and PPBP going from $128 to $138 was shown on the NCL PDF that lists the available drink options but we didn't know when it would happen. Last week, it was still the old FAS services charges ($19.80pppd for PBP) but now it's higher. It's still showing a $15 per drink coverage with the new retail prices, though. Found some more info if purchased.... ITEM #: UBP With the Unlimited Open Bar Package, enjoy a wide selection of beverages both on board and at Great Stirrup Cay. 19. It might be a bit chilly based on the date and itinerary but use the Waterfront whenever possible to avoid the bottleneck in the middle of the ship. Certain parts such as deck 6 will be crowded at times but what works for me is walking down to deck 5 and travelling through the mostly empty hallways. Even going down a deck to catch an elevator going up can be better than waiting with a mob of people near the elevator.
  20. I can only speak from personal experience and I have documented my "issues" with MSC here on Cruise Critic as far as cancelled cruises, ship switches, double bookings, FCC applications, price changes, refunds, etc. Long story, short version....everything has worked out and MSC doesn't owe me a penny and I don't owe them a penny. My longest wait for a refund was 5 months and my shortest was less than 2 weeks. I've enjoyed all of my MSC cruises and have future cruises booked through 2024. I hope that everything gets sorted out before you sail and hope that you enjoy your cruise. My only suggestion is to try MSCExistingReservations@msccruisesusa.com and ALWAYS use your confirmation number AND your SR Number within your email. Give as many exact details that you can.
  21. It's usually the forward facing Ocean-view staterooms or the rare forward-facing balcony staterooms that are below the bridge. For side or aft-facing staterooms, you can open or close the curtains whenever you want. Leaving a balcony door open for an extended period of time has a negative effect on the A/C system for multiple staterooms. If your neighbor tries to sleep with the balcony door open, their stateroom, your stateroom, and some of the nearby staterooms will feel the effect of higher room temperature, for ex. If you want to go out on your balcony at night, that's no problem at all....unless you're sailing through a storm or are in an area that infested by pirates and the captain orders all balcony doors to remain closed/locked.
  22. That's what I was thinking. I've been to both beaches and it seems like the "nicer" one that is described is "around the corner". If the Yacht Club gets extra space, it's all good by me.
