The NCL deck plan has the " - PrivaSea" symbol in many places where it doesn't belong for Joy. That symbol is for the partially enclosed balconies directly under the bridge (13108/13708). 14256/14856 (where the ship bumps in under the kart track) is not enclosed. It's actually a "larger than standard" balcony because it is deeper on one side.

The booster requirement depends on where you are sailing from/to. It is currently not required on Caribbean sailings from Miami (my Seashore cruise last month).

The deck plan is just drawn that way. 9350 is the same size as 9352 as far as the interior. The balcony for 9350 is deeper on one side than the other. Imagine a right triangle drawn on top of a rectangle.

The dividers help to slow/prevent the spread of fire. They have the ability to open to allow firefighters to get to the fire without having to chop their way through. Other lines are willing to take more risk. NCL used to also allow dividers to be opened under certain conditions. When guests were denied while other guests were allowed, the denied guests complained. NCL decided on a blanket "no open" policy. Are there some stewards who will open them in hopes of getting a tip? Yes. Are there some guests who will open them on their own? Yes. Should they be opened? No.

I agree except that all that I had to do was ask. Perhaps there will be some response to the feedback and the pergolas will either be given a cover or MSC will go back to cabanas.

NCL dailies state that balcony dividers are not to be opened for guests to "double up". The dividers serve a safety purpose and are only to be opened for emergencies and maintenance.

On BA/GA, the aft-facing suites (other than decks 11 and 14) have the same master bathroom setup.

Deck 13 has the smallest aft-facing balconies and you still enjoyed lounging. Imagine being on a huge balcony such as deck 9 or 12.

If you want the largest balconies, you want some of the aft-facing suites. For me, nothing is lost by being at the opposite end of the ship and a few decks down. Others may feel differently. Having 2 full bathrooms with a large balcony is better for us than the 2BR Family suite that's located within the Haven enclave. Personally, I would book directly instead of bidding. I'm particular when it comes to balcony size and stateroom configuration of the aft-facing suites.

I agree. Also, 8136 (port side equivalent) is bed near closet. It is surrounded by bed near balcony on both sides.

There's nothing really wrong with 19040. I'd probably avoid 19046 since it's the last one and shares a wall with "the outside". Overall, I try to avoid being directly under a sundeck but other than that, there shouldn't be a problem with deck 19. Maybe others who have stayed on 19 can comment.

Escape/Joy/Bliss/Encore are built with the same configurations and sizes for aft-facing. The stateroom numbers are different, though. If someone wants an aft-facing balcony on Bliss with the bed near the closet, it can be done.

The link shows Escape 15286 which is bed near closet. The NCL rep that claimed that ALL aft-facing B1s were bed near balcony is clearly mistaken. Bliss 14284 is bed near balcony.
