  1. I'm glad that you reached a solution that you are happy with. It should. If you were in the same situation again, you would have moved the original booking to August and all would have been well.
  2. I haven't tried it myself but aren't Yacht Club bookings given 1 free cruise change? I don't know what was in place when you booked or if this August is too soon. https://www.msccruisesusa.com/cruise/msc-yacht-club (under Inclusions) 1 free cruise change * The free cruise change is applicable either on the cruise dates or on the destination. Such change needs to be performed up to 1 month before departure, for a new cruise to sail within 3 months from the original departure. Any cruise change shall be requested through our contact center. In other words, were you given the opportunity to move the October cruise to August or does MSC see it as you booked 2 cruises and want to cancel the 2nd one?
  3. I actually tried to see if I could do it. There's a spot underneath to "beep" your room card when you select your deck but nothing special happens if you do.
  4. They don't matter to NCL. They should matter to NCL (and us) but NCL uses the words to mean what NCL wants people to believe.
  5. It might require immediate attention if someone gets "seasick" after a few too many drinks. 🤢
  6. People shouldn't get so wrapped up in the "words" that NCL uses when it comes to the 20% "thing". There have been times that NCL has called it a gratuity in the Terms & Conditions. There have been times that NCL has called it a service charge in the Terms & Conditions. There have been times that NCL has called it a gratuity & service charge in the Terms & Conditions (20% gratuity and spa service charge/20% gratuity and beverage service charge/20% gratuity and specialty service charge). NCL has also used different words for the DSC (tip/gratuity/service charge) depending on the phase of the moon. No matter what you call it, the same amount comes out of your pocket. Whatever you add, don't add, or take away (when applicable) is up to you.
  7. Someone on the following thread (July '22) reported that Diamond on Royal got them Gold on MSC....
  8. Sometimes, it shows up immediately. Sometimes, it shows up weeks later. Sometimes, it shows up on the original confirmation email. Sometimes, it shows up on a random 2nd or 3rd confirmation email. Sometimes, it shows up all at once. Sometimes, it shows up in chunks of $50 at different times for different guests. ....MSC.
  9. TL;DR 😵 Sooooooo......I guess you won't be upgrading to Premium Plus?
  10. Learn what the different "experiences" are and what they do/don't include.
  11. Some balcony tubs have a heater to control the temperature and some are just a tub that fills with hot and cold water. I've experienced both on cruises and I'm guessing that NCL went with the less expensive option. If so, you just add more hot water if the water temperature drops below what you like.
  12. No, it isn't new. It's been that way for guests 3-8 and the PBP for about 2 years. With so many cruises cancelled due to the pandemic, some people who would have had it never got the chance.
  13. If the deck plan is correct, the bed is near the balcony. For that category of stateroom on that class of ship, a "sleeps 4" will have the bed near the balcony and the sofa-bed (with pullman bed above it) near the closet.
  14. For the aft-facing staterooms, Escape, Joy, Bliss, and Encore have the same balcony sizes, depths, and configurations. Those vary in depth and in width depending on location (deck, bed location, etc.). Your stateroom balcony (13338) is the same depth as the standard balconies in your area. There are some angled balconies that are about 50% larger (deeper on one side than the other) such as 13340 but your balcony is about the same as the majority of balconies on the ship.
  15. Any news on the World Class ships and any info on the new Miami terminal?
  16. It's your vacation and if there is something that interests you and you are allowed to buy, go right ahead. Others can do the same. If you get VIBE passes and others don't, that's just the way that it is.

  18. There is no recommended amount. It is whatever you feel is appropriate. No one on the forum can answer for you.
  19. Prices and promos fluctuate and it takes more effort to find a good deal. My June 2022 cruise was actually less expensive than what would have been a June 2020 cruise that was booked pre-pandemic. Once people burn through their 125% FCCs and all of the cruise lines start to get back to "normal", prices should stabilize a bit. Yes, things are more expensive all over but decent prices can still be found.
  20. Once again, MSC is consistent in their inconsistency. On my last 2 MSC cruises (March and June), everything was replaced at no charge. Actually, we got extra (2 at a time) Toblerone and Pringles and were never charged. Granted, we have 2 children so that might be a factor. We never saw the charge. The items we ordered at the Jungle were never charged. Venchi was charged (it wasn't on Seaside back in 2018) but it wasn't enough of a charge to worry about. The included chocolate on the pillows at night was the same stuff that was for sale at Venchi. I can't complain. 😁
  21. Are you using "WITH YOUR MSC ACCOUNT" when you login or are you using "WITH BOOKING NUMBER"? You'll get more info/options with MSC ACCOUNT.
  22. You can all use the cabana....if you all want to cram in together. As for breakfast, there were 4 of us in the Mera RS and although the table isn't huge, it is possible for 4 to eat breakfast on the balcony. The butler will have no problem with setting up for 4 even though only 2 are staying in the RS.
  23. You test again during the first week. They announce when the testing is scheduled and the B2B people go then.
