  1. I guess my question is.... Did you think that you had to wait until you were onboard to use it since you thought that it was OBC? If I thought that I had OBC, I (like you) would have waited. If I thought that I could use it before or during the cruise, I would have used it before. If you we informed earlier (before you were on the ship) that it had to be used before you were on the ship, you would have used it for those things. Did you end up spending your own money for those things? I just don't see how NCL owes you anything other than the FCC that you still have. If that FCC *poof* disappeared as soon as you left the ship, I would agree with you. The fact that the FCC is still there and that you can use it towards another cruise means that you can use what NCL owes you. As suggested earlier, perhaps requesting an extension is the best option.
  2. Just curious.....why would you want to decide later (onboard) vs. deciding earlier?
  3. An update on Seascape (thanks to Little fox).
  4. There are a lot of cameos in the movie such as Chaka Khan, Steven Spielberg, and John Lee Hooker.
  5. Shout-out to Pee Wee Herman. Jake and Elwood were both in suits. 😉
  6. From memory, I think that the maximum height is 79" and the maximum weight is 300lbs. but I could be wrong.
  7. (Trying to keep the thread on-topic...) What is the dress code onboard Explora Journeys? We don't have a dress code onboard but we suggest an Elegant Resort Casual style. How many formal nights are on my Journey, and what type of clothing is worn? There are no formal nights. Are children permitted aboard Explora Journey’s ships? If yes, is there a special rate? We happily welcome our younger guests onboard Explora Journeys. During the usual school and seasonal holidays, we offer a special children's programme for our Little Explorers. As regarding our fares: infants between 6 months and 2 years of age sail for free; children and young adults up to the age of 18 will be eligible for additional savings of up to 50%.
  8. From the earliest marketing materials and videos, children have been included in Explora's vision. MSC might be trying to carve out an interesting niche for well behaved children who are experienced with the Yacht Club/NCL Haven. Even the Yacht Club staff suggested that we take a closer look at Explora. My kids aren't the type to jump on furniture or do cannonballs into the pool so maybe that's why the staff made the suggestion. I'll still wait for reviews before booking.
  9. It did for 2 (?) of the elevators. I used it but even our butler would ignore using the feature when calling for an elevator since "normal" was sometimes faster.
  10. With practice, I became rather proficient on Seaside. 😁
  11. We are also considering but I won't pull the trigger until I read some reviews from frequent Yacht Club guests....let someone else be the guinea pig, not me. I noticed this immediately. As a family of 4, I don't often look at the price "per person" since that is usually for guests 1&2 while guests 3&4 pay little to nothing in comparison. I look at the totals. I do the same except I compare the total to what a Duplex/Royal/Owner's Suite would be in MSC Yacht Club since that is what we book/price out. On one of the Explora cruises that I'm interested in, even a mid level suite is comparable. There are other factors such as flights vs. driving to port, included gratuities vs added gratuities, etc. The Explora mid-level stateroom would be smaller, though. Celebrity does pretty much the same with their Iconic Suite on EDGE/APEX/BEYOND in The Retreat. The good thing is that a $50,000 7 night cruise can fall to something as low as a $26,000 7 night cruise if you catch the price on the right day. 🤪 That's the best price that I have seen for an Iconic Suite on the days that I plan on cruising and NCL has been able to get that much for a 3BR Garden Villa for years.
  12. Unpacking/Packing is offered/included for Yacht Club guests....although I've never read a review from someone who had it done.
  13. I'm not looking at this exact itinerary but I had a question(s) about Ocean Cay..... Will the entire island be just for Explora? Will Ocean House serve everyone or even be open? Will the other food venues be open and/or included for everyone? Will there still be music/dancing/parade at night? 😁
  14. In most cases, you and the friend can alternate between the actual bed and the sofa-bed. On some ships, the smallest Haven suites only have a bed and don't have a sofa-bed but more often than not, there is a sofa-bed in a Haven suite. It's not perfect but it can be done. I'd take 3 nights in a bed/4 nights on the sofa-bed while still being in the Haven over 7 nights in a bed with a standard balcony. 😁
  15. In the Yacht Club NOW top suite passengers receive more than other Yacht Club passengers. It might be something as minor as an included cabana, a hot tub on the balcony, or no charges for mini-fridge refills but it is something. It seems that the issue isn't the service but whether the service is above others. In other words, if you were in the Yacht Club and got an included back massage while others in the Yacht Club didn't get a back massage, that would be great. If EVERYONE on Explora got an included back massage and those staying in one of the Residences got a back massage and a foot massage, it would be a problem if you weren't in one of the Residences.
  16. The idea of Explora is that everyone on the entire ship gets those things. The person in the least expensive Explora stateroom will have about the same or better accommodations and services than the person staying in a Deluxe Suite in the Yacht Club. I don't understand how that can be called "steerage".
  17. Obstruction refers to looking directly out, not forward or back. The NCL deck plan has the "PrivaSea" symbol in many places that aren't actually obstructed. Your balcony isn't obstructed.
  18. You'll keep that status as long as you don't go more than 3 years between cruises.
  19. They actually sleep 4. The sad thing is that anyone can book them whether they need wheelchair accessible or they don't.
  20. Our last 4 cruise from POM (NCL & MSC), the porters did exactly that. Our porter did the same at Port Canaveral. I expect it at this point.
  21. The pinned threads are fairly accurate. When I get around to it, I'll post the most recent Seashore menus that I have....unless someone else does it before I get home. 😁
