  1. I did not see them when I was on her over Halloween 2022, but I was not specifically looking for them so it is possible they were available and I missed them.

  3. I remember the last total eclipse, a Royal ship had Bonnie Tyler onboard to sing "Total Eclipse of the Heart" I wish I could have been there.
  4. Their newer cakes are much better if you have not cruised recently. Particularly the layer cakes that are sliced and served on demand. These are available during lunch. Still, no dessert Carnival makes is very sweet - everyone's tastes vary. I personally don't like very sweet things so I love most of Carnival's desserts. But I can definitely see how many would prefer more sweetness.
  5. Detailed here: https://www.carnival.com/vifp/terms-and-conditions.aspx
  6. You are far forward enough you shouldn't have much noise from Lido. You are also forward of the FWD elevators, so you shouldn't have much foot traffic in your cabin area. There are cabins above and below you. Overall a decent location I'd say. The only downside is probably that you are far forward, so you'll be walking the length of the ship a lot most likely.
  7. Yes, if you know you want something then book it. Cheers doesn't sell out but it's certainly not going to be any cheaper between now and sail date.
  8. Typically they do but it's not always much of a notice. Could be only a few days notice. And things like excursions can go up at any time with zero notice, as we learned the other day when HMC cabanas and villas shot up in price with wild abandon.
  9. "anything else" ...yes...
  10. Unfortunately if it is a good deal and a good upgrade, it probably won't be available by then.
  11. Generally, if Carnival is offering the upgrade then all your goodies transfer over. If you are soliciting the upgrade then often not.
  12. A lot of people will recommend packing at least one outfit in your carry-on in case your luggage goes overboard during loading. It happens. Happened to a couple we met on our last cruise, actually.
  13. Yes but as other people with iPhones pass in and out of range of AirTags, their position is updated.
  14. Certainly, the cups themselves have no value. Not like at Disney where they are programmed.
  15. you need a paid WiFi plan to use WiFi calling anyway. And WiFi calling uses very little bandwidth. People doom scrolling TikTok or streaming sports is what’s eating bandwidth.
  16. they want to sell in-room calling and cellular at sea roaming is my guess
  17. Book early and book often. If you know you're going to cruise, and you know when you're going to cruise, why not go ahead and put down a deposit? Lock in your rate today. Prices are not going to be any lower between now and then I am sure of that.
  18. Carnival blocks Wi-Fi calling on all their ships.
  19. That has never been an option before so I doubt it would be an option for this drydock.
  20. You can win by booking as early as you can. The days of prices going down were over before COVID. Prices went down during the initial restart. We are beyond that now. Prices are only going up. The cheapest that cruise you're looking at will be is NOW.
  21. Sure. Just call a few and see what they can do for you.
  22. That's exactly it. It's not exactly rocket science. Just because you've never seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist or not a big deal. The Carnival Magic had to be escorted into NYC bay last Summer by the Coast Guard because of the fights onboard. Was that not real because you weren't onboard to bear eyewitness? These two sentences have no business being in the same paragraph. I will say that by most accounts things seem to be better this year, so Carnival is doing better and they should be commended. Someone the other day reported they only smelled pot once on their recent cruise and the drug-sniffing dogs were really cute. Perhaps the most toxic point of view is "I don't need it/see it/etc so it shouldn't matter to anyone else"
  23. My wife has won several $300-$600 minis and minors or whatever that machine calls them. She typically gives them back by the end of the cruise. I play table games and don't really keep track of how much each individual hand wins. I've probably won $100 on one hand before but I am far from a high roller and mostly play just enough to continue to get my casino offers. Typically we leave the cruise with close to the money we entered with, but no actual winnings. We are happy with that arrangement because we get free cruises and drinks.
  24. They offer free red or white with the meal. It's probably similar to what is offered on the first night at the steakhouse, not sure. As I recall each course also has a recommended pairing at an additional charge.
