  1. Right, saying "well I'm sick" isn't good enough for insurance to pay out. You have to go to the doctor and get documentation.
  2. There aren't many cabins on Spa deck on Conquest class so I certainly could see how they're already spoken for. They are a popular choice.
  3. I love southern Caribbean! Aruba and Curaçao are fantastic ports I could never get sick of. Have not been to Bonaire - hopefully very soon!
  4. I measured it at around 1.25 miles as the crow flies. More with having to cross Cruse Blvd a few times and follow the curves of the sidewalks. The good news is, it's pretty much dead flat.
  5. This is more of a Miami question than a Carnival question so you'd probably be better off asking in the Florida forum than the Carnival forum. Celebration uses Terminal F, for "Fun" Royal is Terminal A These are marked on the Google Map for Dodge Island so you can judge if you can walk it. There's always construction going on on Dodge Island and there is a lot of vehicular traffic, especially on turnaround days - so you'll probably have to cross the street a few times and stay alert etc. But I would consider it walkable but it is a fairly long walk as these berths are very big. The vehicles around the pedestrian areas aren't traveling at high speed generally.
  6. Yes in fact suites should be ready as soon as you board.
  7. it’s tough to fully rinse out detergent bottles. You’ll be burping bubbles all cruise if you try to smuggle booze in a Tide bottle
  8. CBS News is all that is offered fleet-wide in cabins. In the sports bar they'll play ESPN.
  9. Hopefully Spirit is the exception to this rule? It's not looking good though - Holiday, Fantasy, and Ecstasy all never moved on from Mobile.
  10. I have seen that too, but usually if it happens it's 5-10 minutes early. It's certainly something, but not anything to write home about.
  11. That's their goal, leave the ship in the port until it needs drydock then swap in another ship. On and on. Minimum downtime for the port.
  12. Carnival is lately pushing the dreams studio sittings. My understanding is these are "free" sessions where you pay per photo, possibly with cascading discounts (the more you buy the more you save type of thing). I don't think there is any obligation to purchase any photos at all if you do a sitting. The "all inclusive" photo packages are mostly gone now, people didn't buy them enough I suppose.
  13. There are so many huge cruise ships in the world and only so many dry docks that can accommodate them. When space is available they have to take it.
  14. It's an old wive's tale, a case of someone saying something, then it gets repeated, and eventually people start to believe it as gospel.
  15. Casino comps don't appear in your booking info. She can contact the casino department or wait until you get onboard and speak to the casino host.
  16. My understanding is they don't turn on the internet service until the gangway doors close, unless things have changed.
  17. I guess technically correct but it's small potatoes...
  18. Yeah a husband holding a seat for his wife who is going to the bathroom or to the bar or whatever, fine. But trying to hold a whole row, tough nuggets. First come, first served.
  19. they typically say similar things before shows in all lounges as they fill up. But some people think they’re special and they don’t have to listen, I guess.
  20. I don't think they take special requests for the wash and fold bag laundry deals, VIFP or otherwise. You can write it on the sheet but I doubt it'll be honored. All the bags go into mesh bags and are all washed/dried in batches. I use the service for washing my casino clothes to get the smoke smell out, and it ages my t-shirts by years. The printing is in tatters. But like you said I don't send out delicates.
  21. Well a lot of times these offers aren't on the same cruise. If you have a choice between the same offer for the same cruise/cabin, then go with whichever is cheaper. But a lot of times some offers will work on some cruises and not others.
  22. No my momma says typical is as typical does.
  23. Strange! Yeah might be different ways of doing things on different ships. I can't see why in either case they'd have an incentive to lie about it!
  24. I never said that was my practice. You're reaching here, Blerk.
