  1. thanks so much! Newbie to craps, but fell in love with it over the slots... that winning percent was just better for my pocketbook! Excited to play again.
  2. Seems fewer staff. I can't confirm if it's intentional or not.
  3. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/what-is-paxlovid-rebound-and-how-common-is-it/ You still need a script. Based upon availability and home port of the ship, it might not be available, seems to be a crap shoot. Getting medical advice from people on a cruising site is always a bad idea.
  4. Thank you! bringing the family in May and we are very excited. Allure is our favorite, but chose Wonder as she is the newest!
  5. I find it easier to just purchase the case of water and have it in the room. With the drink package, then I have to tote the water back down to the cabin or carry it in a bag for a bit. For some reason that irritates me, the extra trips. Food for thought.
  6. Sometimes a change of lines is all one needs to up their cruising experience. As we love RCCL , hope you will too! We have two NCL booked far in advance for the ports (both repos) as they are new to us, we won't be aware of the changes that are not to your liking. To each their own, happy cruising!
  7. we have always purchased through the cruise line. Mom broke her hip while on a canadian cruise, obviously had surgery and had to stay in hospital. It took about two months for full payment to come about. she had the US medicaid as well. They did right by her, but was unsure if you had any additional medical insurance, so that may be the difference.
  8. Know what I did this week on a land vacay across the east coast? Did CPR on a plane passenger. Ya know what happened? An emergency landing at another airport. You NEVER know what is going to happen, so flying in the day before is a blessing. don't be snarky. Many folks missed their transfer to Tampa for a cruise, including this lady and her husband. She luckily survived.
  9. OP, I am soo sorry you are experiencing this crazy. But such is life. If I understand this correctly, some are not coming, others are iffy at best. My cold-hearted butt says you are only responsible for yourself. Yes! you wanted the whole group to come. Their decision has consequences for them. This does not affect your sailing dollars or experience. It's a hard lesson to learn.. not paying 120 bucks for insurance or getting documents.. but are you going to let this spoil your vacation? They made choices that are not your responsibility to carry. Drop that luggage and cruise on.
  10. honestly, I know, I KNOW the staff must try to sell products and they are working to make money. I get that. But every facial I have had, and they were good.. results in a sales pitch. Many folks like me write on the intake forms.. no sales pitch... still get them. Say "no thank you to everything you are going to try to sell me", and even say "stop it".. they continue... we all have had them. This is my vacation week and I don't need that stress and BS. There are spa's all around me at home which if they do this, I don't return and frequent the ones that work with me. So I am saying avoid the spa, it's overpriced from home and just an irritant at the end, why pay for that?
  11. The problem is that any ship excursion will take you back to the port. The RCCL subbed out guy cannot be held accountable should a taxi not show up for you. Why not just return to the port with the group and then taxi out? Do you know where this excursion ends ahead of time? An alternative is to look at private guides from trip advisor and viator, call them and ask for that pickup spot, you'll pay a bit more, but these folks can tailor what you want and save you the hassle of the port return. I use these sites several times a year. just check their most recent reviews.
  12. Inside passage, princess. Out of Vancouver if possible. I live in Alaska and the outside passage is ok, but since you will be paying bigger bucks, from the get go.. might as well do a back to back in Alaska if possible. Please look at the excursions as everything here is twice as much as the lower 48, so you can budget.
  13. you really have to hit them up asap as you board and book your times. I am a procrastinator which gives me a 9pm dinner in specialty dinning, grr.
  14. Thank you for sharing your review and experiences as well as educating folks about the importance of researching mass bookings! My craziest experience was a 1200-person biker gang. Luckily it was just the husband and I and we had so much fun with them. Unruly kiddos is my breaking point, crazy adults, not so much. Dunno why. My house is in Orlando and this is so true. Always have strollers hitting my ankles and when there are themed groups from out of the country, they have different social norms about body space than we do, it aggravates me. (I hate being pushed and touched, a regular for Disney). Try November before thanksgiving break, it's all decked out for christmas and fewer crowds. Too cold for the water venues though.
  15. To anyone flying that thinks it will all go well. We had a medical emergency on our plane and it got diverted. Had trip insurance which eventually paid for an additional connection we paid out of pocket to reach the ship minutes from departure, without any luggage. Go the day before! We got free ship shape T shirts and a toothbrush from the ship, lol
  16. Let your opinion simmer for a few days. This new poster is obviously upset and I am not going to comment on their specific issues. I have no dog in this fight. So there is nothing wrong with you being open minded and going to check the adventure ocean out with your kid. Don't let one persons bad experience sway you from having your kid enjoy themselves. If you think about this logically, with the hundred thousand cruising families a year.. this would be a recurrent complaint, and it is not.
  17. His posts are like this all over the boards. I hit ignore.. and have peace.
  18. Love the Allure/Oasis and hoping to add the Wonder to that list. Sailing in May If anyone can respond with Adventure Ocean experiences or if there is a crap table in the casino, would be appreciated. Happy Sailings everyone.
  19. ok, now after reading this thread, I am excited to join in! I usually play craps, with nice odds, but this is a fun change! Going to hit FB to find a group on my May cruise!
  20. We booked ahead of time to select our date and it does sell out at times (we waited until on the ship to book and it was full). We went twice on a B2B, it's the same menu, and we just loved it. The best advice is to pace yourself and not have drinks beforehand. The wine servings come with each course and although I can hold my own with alcohol, it was quite a bit served. I passed on a wine or two the second time around. The wine is not top-notch but does pare well. If it's in your budget, definitely try it once! We had a group of 16 and a group of 14, a wonderfully intimate way to meet interesting folks and discuss food.
  21. If it were just the husband and me, would definitely splurge for this, all a matter of personal choice. Being spoiled, and semi-secluded with great food is MY idea of a vacation. This round, I am splurging for the family of six, two kiddos, so heck to the NO! ha!
  22. I cannot recall Alaska being offered, but we live in Alaska, so I might have just mentally ignored it.
