  1. I am shocked and horrified a ship photographer actually thought it appropriate to say this. 😞
  2. I received this email last night, but financially I don’t think it’s worth it. It would be a minimum of £2060/cabin to go from deluxe balcony to mini suite, on Aurora. If it had been half that I may have considered it That amount is almost half what I’ve paid for a 16 day holiday on select (obc excluded) p.s. I’d have loved to have had a mini suite, but maybe better I don’t succumb… else I may never go back to a ‘balcony’!)
  3. Very sad, but I’m not convinced the 2nd paragraph ought to be posted here yet, in case non involved relatives start to worry. How do we know all relatives have been informed? Could you modify?
  4. I don’t care what colour, sexual orientation, religion, etc, etc, anyone is. But I don’t also wish to hear people go on and on about it either. E.g. They are welcome to meet up together (e.g.) those who meet in religious settings, etc, etc, but I don’t want them coming to my front door to try and ‘sell it to me’. Inclusion to me means acceptance (and equality) not having it rammed down my throat.
  5. Hamburg, yes, into the centre, cannot remember where we were dropped, sorry, but I know we then walked easily everywhere. Zeebrugge, yes, into Blankenburg, to the train station Rotterdam, not been! shuttles are free if you’ve paid select fair, else there is a ‘small’ charge (not sure how much)
  6. I have to admit we’ve always booked Aurora’s B deck deluxe balconies, and always had the bath (full length) with a shower over it. Wonderful 🙂 These used to be the only deluxe cabins… However… …Looking at the new deck plan (since the children’s area was removed), I think the only deluxe balconies, with ‘shower only’ are the new ones created on deck D. Maybe they added them to encourage people to pay select fair to ensure they got the full deluxe cabin experience!
  7. This is also a good site I use for the different ‘twilights’ (and sunrise/sunset when I am on holiday) here’s a direct link for Warwick for the whole month, for an example https://www.timeanddate.com/sun/@2634725
  8. Total media hyped issue to create unnecessary anger. Heating, etc costs means fewer greenhouse salad crops being produced in a Europe, but there is generally no shortage.
  9. Wow… and leaves this November. I am not sure I could live with the same 1000 others for 3 years!
  10. It’s tapioca for most of us, slightly different to sago 🙂 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tapioca_pudding I liked the one my mum made, but not at school!
  11. Oh the dreaded Frogspawn puddings… 🤣 (and I grew up in Oxford) it really did look like frogspawn… yuck!
  12. American OTT Tipping can be seen as ugly/offensive, but in most places it will just be taken advantage of, whilst ‘they’ throw their money abound… ‘more money than sense’ is a term often used…. Being seen to throw rich money around in some countries is ugly/charity. Research the countries and sensible rates (as this OP is doing) and be sensible
  13. we’ve been up to the buffet after the MDR, to get a hot dessert, as evening meals on Aurora never had a hot option…. So we’d often do a ‘movable feast’… starter and main in MDR, then dessert later!!! If it was formal night, we’d often see others doing the same.
  14. We’ll be on Aurora, but will watch it at times; being a sea day. Husband will record it at home for us to catch up when we get home, if there’s anything we missed and we hear is worth a watch. We’re British and should be proud of our (few) traditions.
  15. We did one at Christmas/New Year a few years ago and loved it. We can happily entertain ourselves though… We were on Aurora. The days out let me completely wind down from work, I did choir and art (and walked/read/relaxed) Husband did quizzes, guest presenters and read/walked. On the return, I did art and the rest of the time I enjoyed ‘me time’, walking/ reading / relaxing, husband was similar. Maybe it’s different in that I’m working and I *really* needed that break. I am not someone to sit on a beach for hours, but loved the enforced relaxation. The evening food does get ‘samey’ in the restaurant, and so we started going to the buffet for what turned out to be excellent alternative choices. Not once were we ever bored. My husband was slightly concerned he would be, but not once was he and he agreed he’d do it again if we had the opportunity
  16. If you do happen to, always check the girth after being on a horse for a few minutes… some horses are known to ‘breathe in’ when tightening girths! After a few minutes of riding, they can be properly tightened! Obviously a tour place should check these too 😉
  17. Pay for it? No! That would move even closer to the budget airline approach… you’re on board but then have to pay for everything!!
  18. Could be, or a portable battery (like people use to charge up phones, go pros, etc) or similar being charged. I had a portable battery pack being charged at work and I started to smell it burning, my nose is trained to burning, after being on a boat which exploded when I was 15. Thanks goodness I was at my desk. I quickly unplugged both the plug and ripped out the usb. The plastic was melting around the usb end, and was very hot. It was a known good brand, but there was obviously a fault. I wouldn’t wish to assume the cause at the moment, though I know you’re more experienced at likely suspects than me! GBM
  19. Tables are 6 and 8, occasional 10. Not sure I’ve ever seen anything larger than 10. May need to be hopeful in getting tables close together. Speak to Maitre-d as you say, for options at being on adjacent tables, as you’re on fixed dining 🙂
  20. I think they used the route published online, and did it themselves, saying others could join them.
  21. Well, 20 minutes in our washer dryer at home, and clothes are almost dry. Hours, and they’d be on fire or dolls clothes!
  22. Great review, and laughed out loud at the “vibrating bed pad”
