  1. Not happening. If you are in a top suite, maybe. Half the ship will could be Eilte's. Otherwise find a bar that has Rum Chata and hope they have some peppermint liqueur to concoct your own.
  2. They do have internal VIP designations, regardless of cabin, that they may choose to grant people, especially those that give them a ton of free publicity. They likely received other gifts that you did not receive either. The document I have shows the monogrammed pajamas are only available on Apex. That doesn't make a lot of sense to me but I haven't seen them much lately either.
  3. You never lose your original room if your bid is declined. If you were to win the upgrade your SV cabin would go back into available inventory or get scooped up by someone else's MoveUp bid. My guess is that it would go to someone else's MoveUp since you probably won't know your bid result until a few days prior to sailing.
  4. You'll get some strong opinions regarding kids on Celebrity, but anyway.... In my mind NCL typically falls somewhere between Carnival and Royal Caribbean. It's very casual. It's also very loud and active. There will be 25x more things for kids to do on NCL compared to Celebrity. NCL's drink packages and the fees associated with them put Celebrity's drinks far ahead. NCL's pool decks are notoriously a mad house. They cram so much stuff up there that it leaves little room to move. The waterfront area does stay pretty quiet, and their spa area is better and offers more than you normally find on Celebirty. You also need reservations for some of their shows and activities. If I had kids I would still choose NCL over Celebrity and save Celebrity for the adults only cruises. I picture my nieces and nephews on Celebrity and they would be bored out of their minds.
  5. Unless you are burning through OBC there is no need to book through Celebrity. You can come and go on your own schedule and have much more time on site. It's only about a 10 minute ride. Those places can range from packed to deserted depending on how many ships are in port.
  6. I would skip the Rooftop Garden and LePetit Chef. RTG is consistently underwhelming on S and E class. LePetit Chef is fine. Nothing wrong with it but I wouldn't make it a priority.
  7. I just noticed week passes for my next Beyond cruise jumped from $119 to $219/pp. Day passes are not available online.
  8. That level of service and contact isn’t available to Aqua cabins. You can swap out the free wine once you arrive to your cabin but those aren’t things they are going to arrange pre-cruise. If you’re wanting cribs for a third in Aqua that’s another issue all together.
  9. Agree to disagree? I've always gotten the impression that on groups like this site there are a small group of people who want to portray Celebrity being much more highbrow than it truly is onboard. The overall feel is definitely more upscale than Carnival, but I've never seen anyone make fun of someone for using the salad fork on their entree.
  10. It’s six of one, half dozen of the other. On Beyond there is a row of loungers 3-4 feet in front of you along with all of the usual pool activity. People cut through the narrow walkway between the loungers and cabana entrance. There is also that sunken seating area next to the far end cabana that creates some traffic. People also enter and exit the pool area directly next to either of the end cabanas. I wouldn’t say one setup is far better than the other. On Edge/Apex you may have a walkway but on Beyond you’re essentially sitting on the middle of the pool deck. You are more on display on the Beyond arrangement.
  11. They have always been more on Beyond. After experiencing both I actually do prefer the Edge and Apex setup facing the water.
  12. It's not a bad thing for the RCG portfolio. Customers have options to go up brand and stay in the family. Royal is clearly going mega family/kid friendly, Celebrity will cater to DINK/retirees, and Silversea can pick up the ones that can afford the upgrade from Celebrity and don't mind the formality. I don't like Oasis class so Icon doesn't do it for me personally, but it will sell, even with those boring itineraries. As long as you enjoy the screams of 3,000 children.
  13. It's because the second guest is getting 75% off (or 60% off - depending).
  14. Probably not since the name and cabana number are on the card . They've asked which cabana I've wanted before since the ones nearest the Mast Grill (on Edge anyway) were incredibly windy. If they are not full they will let you move to wherever possible.
  15. You don't. Your name is on card on the table and your waiter will come by as you get settled in. They've never asked for my sea pass but they do know the names on the reservation.
  16. Don''t even know where to begin. It's just a lot. A whole lot. It's on literally almost every cruise news site and all over royalcaribbean.com this morning.
  17. Take a look at Beyond then look at the Icon of the Seas announcement this morning (I would suggest doing so before coffee or your anxiety may go through the roof). The direction and vibe of each line is striving for is pretty apparent.
  18. I wouldn't worry about it. The only time I've ever seen RCG pull back bookings was on Royal Caribbean where a few crusies were accidentally priced at pennies on the dollar a few years ago. This was pretty clearly an error but people still paid at least $5k for a Sky Suite and there are still a lot of them available.
  19. Of course you don't have to, but I've always found they appreciate the heads up or even when you chat on day 1 if you tell them roughly what your normal looks like. Early risers, sleep in, etc. If you see them in the hallway and give a quick wave on your way to breakfast, the gym, whereever, I almost always come back to a made up cabin. There are other variables that are not known. Is half the crew in COVID isolation? Did they disembark a bunch before the TA (which is pretty common)? Could be a number of struggles.
  20. Celebrity doesn’t handle drink packages at all like Royal does. Either book with All Included or buy a package for maybe a tiny discount. Definitely won’t see any 50% off deals.
  21. It’s pretty clear that this one and the 12/24/23 departure were pricing errors rather than the normal fluctuation.
  22. You can have a minors in a cabin by themselves as long as the parents are next door or in a room directly opposite the kid's cabin, like if they parents had a balcony and the kid was in an interior across the hall. In this case you could book the kid Cruise Only and parents All Included since it can be done as two unique reservations.
  23. They had the Ketel One Cucumber Mint on Reflection last month for a day or two before they were gone. One sip and into the trashcan it went.
  24. Normally I would say they would never leave T25 unused, but I bet this is the issue with parking, etc. Don't you already have to shuttle to parking garages from T29? Never driven to port but I know I've read complaints about it before. Very little difference if the lines are moving quickly. You just skip the eye rolls and sighs from the oh so pleasant agents.
  25. It’s a great price for a seven day cruise to nowhere 🤣
