  1. Thanks for the comparison. I always find it odd that more Celebrity suite cruisers don't dabble in Silversea more often, especially in areas where the ports offered are a bit more varied.
  2. I'm not sure. We were onboard in early September and they crew didn't really know. I can't imagine they would replace items that would be swapped out if/when they do a full Revolution style refresh but that may be years away at this point. Our balcony furniture was in pretty rough shape and there was some noticeable wear on carpets, chairs, etc. that you just typically don't see on Celebrity.
  3. There is a 2 week gap between Oct 17 and Oct 31. The hull will get the blue paint and the normal refresh of carpets, furnishings, etc. but it will definitely not come out looking fully-Revolutionized like Silhouette or Equinox.
  4. The E Class suite experience is overall a step above S class, IMO. Reflection does not have the suite sundeck, Michael's Club is very dark and a bit dated. Cabins aren't as fresh looking as on the E class just due to the ships age. If you happen to depart from Fort Lauderdale and can't use T25, you miss out on the new terminal experience, although you may only be there briefly. If none of that stuff matters to you, Reflection is priced significantly lower than E class suites on similar itineraries.
  5. I wouldn't even bother with skip the line tickets. If you enter through the South Slope across from the Temple of Zeus, there are a few ticket machines that are slow and have long lines. Walk towards them, hang a left and go ~100ft and you will be at the entrance itself where this are two more manned ticket windows and the line moves much faster. The pink star is where the ticket machines are. Bypass those and you will only have a few minute wait.
  6. No....Greece no longer has their own rules that, regardless of vax status, you have to use a proctored test 2 days before sailing. You follow the rules for Italy sailings just like normal.
  7. I'm seeing the opposite. Since the price to go from Cruise Only to All Inclusive has almost doubled in the past week, there are several instances of Aqua being cheaper than Concierge if you want the All Included rate. I suspect that pricing may go back to normal once the current 75% off 2nd guest goes away, but it may not.
  8. To qualify under the program associated with Cruise with Confidence, the cruise has to be booked by March 31, 2022 with a sailing date by September 30, 2022. Anything outside of that gets nothing after final expect for the odd time you see a price drop within 48hrs of making payment.
  9. Some staff just make up numbers when asked. Unless the number you are hearing is coming straight from the Captain as they sometimes announce, it’s likely just a wild guess. On every cruise I’ve been on since the restart I have heard wildly different pax counts from crew. Our most recent one was anywhere from 2,200 to 2,900. Quite a difference….
  10. It will become a little more blurred if the current pricing to jump from cruise only to AI remains at double what it used to be or if that is only in conjunction with the 75% off the second pax deal. If you chose AI in a Concierge Cabin it’s almost the same price as just booking Aqua.
  11. We were on the prior cruise (disembarked the 16th) and have COVID along with several others. All sorts of open coughing, hacking and sneezing on board as the cruise progressed. Lots of red trash bags in the hallway and trays of half eaten food. If Silent Disco isn't a superspreader then nothing is 😷
  12. The 'younger' crowd during that time is more likely younger familiar with elementary and high school aged kids. The average age on E class cruises does seem to skew younger, but by younger I would say more in their 30's to early 40's. The average age will still be 50+. I've never been on a Celebrity cruise with many college aged people. Since you're already booked it is what it is, but there aren't a lot of activities aside from eating, drinking, shows and the occasional brief poolside dance class type of thing. I would have been bored out of my mind traveling with my parents at that age, but everyone is different.
  13. Plenty of storage. The chest of drawers is much larger than on the S class ships. There are drawers inside the closet, and the curved wall next to the closet opens up and is full of shelving too.
  14. 9242, 9245, 9229, 9226 and 9208 10225, 10230, 10199, 10204 and 10184 Those are all next to a bump out in the structure which some may consider obstructed to a degree, but Celebrity does not classify them as such.
  15. The last European departure for the season is Oct 31 so there is no need for a policy on cruises that do not exist. If everyone wants to get back to normal and avoid testing, etc. you can't have the best of both worlds forever. They will cover you on the ship, but you are your own responsibility after that.
  16. We're in and out of the cabin a lot so the long walk can be inconvenient. It can also be incredibly hot in the direct sun. There is also the occasional soot issue. Earlier this month on RF the balcony was always wet until late morning. The deck 7 setup on Beyond would probably solve most of these issues, but I'm definitely not in the group of people that obsesses over these cabins. I would take a midship IV over an SV.
  17. Deck 7 on Beyond is quite a bit different compared to Edge or Apex. There is no angle or slant to the railing. It's far more similar to a regular side facing balcony.
  18. I was last on a European sailing so people tend to eat later, but as long as you didn't show up at 7:30, one of the dining rooms could seat you. The maître d' at one restaurant can check the others to see if there is a wait. If a set time with no wait is really important I would just opt for the early seating.
  19. I'm not a fan of SV's. Just had one and confirmed my opinions. But on Beyond I would choose deck 7 over the others. The only time you're going to get slightly less sun is midday when the sun is directly overhead. Otherwise during morning and evening, depending on direction of the ship, the sun is still going to cut right under it. Just like it would on a normal balcony on the side of the side. January can still be quite warm but I've never really felt any wind at all in an aft cabin.
  20. I couldn't say one stands out above the other. They are just different. Extremely different in some ways but there is still a decent amount of familiarity. I prefer the newer look and feel of the E class ships, especially the outdoors decks. After two cruises on Reflection this year, we will be sticking to E class for the foreseeable future unless there is a can't-miss itinerary on an S class ship.
  21. Not us. We just spent 11 days in one and used the balcony less than an hour. It was hotter than the surface of the sun, the cabin was unbearably warm during the day, balcony was always wet in the mornings and covered with chunks of soot the rest of the time. I've always thought they were overrated and this was enough to make me switch our next Beyond cruise from SV to AQ. I think the law of scarcity comes into play and people book them simply because they are in short supply.
  22. Unless you paid to upgrade separately, Elevate never included Streaming Internet. You would have had to purchase Indulge to get that.
  23. Based on the email from the CEO this evening, it sounds like only those on Streaming plans will have access to the new system. Deployment begins 9/5 on Beyond.
  24. There are no major changes. I wouldn't trust most of what any of their reps say. They have always offered both refundable and non-refundable fares. Non-refundable fares have to be paid at the time of booking. On the FBC website you want to look for fare with the *risk free note to get a refundable fare. You may see an economy ticket that is refundable but a premium economy ticket that is non-refundable on the same flight.
