  1. Follow up with your TA. You have Classic attached to the reservation. If they truly told you that Premium was included, they are likely going to have to eat the cost of the upgrade themselves. Celebrity won't be able to sort this out for you.
  2. Very few mega ships call on Grand Cayman due to the required tendering. MSC Seascape is probably the largest this season and it's only 2-3 times. Many places charge VAT, Texas blue laws on Galveston departures (although Celebrity has no plans for Texas), etc. People will eventually adjust or the cruise lines will come up with a more workable solution.
  3. Suite bookings made prior to November 17, 2020 could be under a cruise only rate. I don't remember the exact date but 2022/2023 Caribbean season were not released until maybe February/March 2021 so none of the current Caribbean bookings would qualify for Retreat at a cruise only rate (Simply Sail at the time). Aside from that, the only plausible way to sail in suites at cruise-only would be via MoveUps which there are a significant number of.
  4. 🤣 Why does this remind me of the types that post (weekly) that they are leaving Facebook yet continue to post hourly life updates. So long!
  5. The deadline to transfer a FCC to someone else was 5/4/2022 with a sail date of 12/31/2022. You can call and ask but I would be prepared to be told no.
  6. Two thoughts. Perhaps some levity... 1. Cruises from Fort Lauderdale and Miami this time of year, very frequently have cruise line employees at all level onboard. But no, LLP is not going to come by your table to ask how your steak is cooked or discuss the procurement process and financials of your cut of meat. 2. The complete frenzy and outrage of 'the cuts!!!'' that a group of what - maybe 25 - frequent CC posters, many of whom who have not sailed since 'the cuts!!!" and a few who have apparently never sailed Celebrity at all, is not representative of the entire client-base by a long shot. It's unfortunate that a vocal few on here can stir up so much drivel that others unfortunately decide their cruise is going to be terrible even before stepping on the ship.
  7. There don’t have to be cabins open for them to be available for Move Ups bids. One move up will create a domino effect of moves, or if there is no availability, the bid doesn’t get accepted.
  8. The base offer of 60/75% off the second guest plus bonus savings is scheduled to run until March 1.
  9. Go in to any Manage Reservation screen > click the icon with your initials in the upper right corner > past cruises
  10. Reflection does not call on any ports with any specific rules. No testing or documentation is required.
  11. If you're willing to have two vastly different experiences, sure you could enjoy it. Like I said earlier, I don't think this little group of active Cruise Critic poster on this board is necessarily representative of Celebrity in general, but I also don't think there is a lot of overlap in people who would routinely cruise both lines. As already mentioned here, free condoms, some sex talk, drag queens, a tattoo and piercing shop, electronic dance music, a whole new approach to dining, etc. aren't going to work for everyone. Especially those here who get heated about things like throw pillows and decorate succulents.
  12. The website hotels.celebritycruises.com is a Priceline website branded as Celebrity. There is nothing out of the ordinary about that.
  13. Reflection is scheduled for terminal 29 the rest of this Caribbean season.
  14. I've now been on two VV sailings. In my opinion there is very little overlap between people who would enjoy both cruise lines. Among this little Celebrity cruise critic group, I would say there is even less overlap. FWIW I am not quite 40 (yet!). VV definitely nailed being different. To me the dining all feels like you're in a fast casual restaurant. Food may be good, but to me the experience almost leans more Carnival where people are just looking for consumption food and not a meal. However there are a lot of options. The main pool is tiny. Tiny. This was supposedly intentional and offset by long port times but on a Caribbean route the port times not substantially different than what anyone else offers. Entertainment is also different. I hate having to make reservations for any cruise show. There is one show that is semi-traditional song and dance. If you had issue with the original iteration of Eden on Edge class, you probably won't like any of the shows on VV. Cabin design is whatever you make of it. Some love it. Some don't. There are a few shows and event where you may get a free drink, but do not expect any bargains on drink prices. Beers are $5-8, martinis can easily be in the $15 range, wine and bubbles are similar to menu prices on Celebrity. Regular long drinks are in the $10 range. Drip coffee is included however espresso drinks are not. Those will cost you another $4-6 depending on what you want. This seems to be something made up on Cruise Critic. You aren't going to find any plush recliners or Queen Anne armchairs, but the seating is perfectly fine. Similar to Edge class, there are probably hundreds of styles of seating arrangements to choose throughout the ship. They don't call it speciality dining because there is no extra charge, but to be honest, it's really not that special at all.
  15. Category upgrades have to be applied manually by Celebrity. There is no booking system out there that will do this automatically with your CC#. Prior to April 2023 there were also more exclusions. For sailings departing prior to April 12, 2023: Captain's Club one-category upgrade excludes categories: 12, FV, SV, C1 and Z, Y, X, XC, XA, W. **On Celebrity Edge series categories 12, 9, 7, 6, IO, 1B, 1A, SV, ES, E1, C2, C1, A1 are also excluded. For sailings departing on or after April 12, 2023: Captain's Club one-category upgrade excludes categories: IS, ES, SV, SC, PO, DO, DI, DV and Z, Y, X, XC, XA, W. There are also some exclusions regarding rate types that qualify.
  16. When they initially rolled out the program Celebrity was definitely covering fees if they changed the cruise. None of the marketing resources for this program are published anymore and it has gone radio silent since. However I can't find anything that says they stopped covering fees if Celebrity changed or cancelled the cruise. You can try to call 1-800-436-5431 or 1-855-814-629. Do not spend time trying to talk to anyone that is from Priceline since they have nothing to do with this. I would be prepared for them to say this was in conjunction with Cruise With Confidence which is now over.
  17. Generally speaking the Princess suite product is similar to a combination of Celebrity's Concierge Class and Aqua Class but with a larger cabin. It's not a great value unless your primary objective is to have more cabin space.
  18. You are really limiting yourself by sticking to ship tours. All of these ports are easy to navigate on your own and you have months and months to research. You will save a ton of money, have longer time in port and more flexibility by going at it on your own. It can be a little intimidating at first but it's just really not that difficult. IMO there is nothing worse than being stuck on a big motor coach with an earbud in and a sticker on your shirt as you are hearded around by a tour guide.
  19. Not a chance they attempt to make Celebrity (even Retreat) mirror Silversea. Totally totally different product and they are different for a reason. Imagine the dress code threads alone! This person replaces Keith Lane who was promoted to SVP of Hotel Operations this summer. There has been quite a bit of movement within sales since spring. The job does include inside sales, but the bulk of it is travel agent (trade) sales and support which most consumers see nothing of and know very little about.
  20. No good clear answer. We definitely don’t book late afternoon or stay an extra night. No need. I aim for 10:30 to noon at the latest. Anything later and you’re sitting in the airport forever. I can’t recall a time I ever felt particularly rushed to make a 10:30 flight.
  21. I would honestly never ever book a ship tour for a beach excursion. In a place like Maegan's Bay (and nearly everywhere else) unless a chair and umbrella are included in the excursion or it's a resort type place that has them provided, you can go where ever you want.
  22. I'd have to disagree. I think for a first time international traveler a cruise is a good experience to get your feet wet. I myself would prefer to tour Europe not on a cruise because you are so restrcited to tourist heavy drive-bys and you don't get the chance to really immerse yourself in the culture. However - after the first trip you quickly realize that it's not nearly as daunting as it may have seemed. Communicating isn't that hard, the trains are quick and efficient to get from city to city and you can tour on your own rather inexpensively. You first trip on a cruise gets you a taste of the experience, but with the security and familiarity of the ship even though you actual 'on the ground' time is restricted.
  23. Not uncommon at all. Even though it's the middle of 'your' cruise, it's just another work day for them. The new captain has been onboard for a while already while they complete the handoff.
  24. The email and invite has nothing to do with being Zenith.
