  1. Is your loyalty status correct in the App? If not, it will charge you full price, initially. You can get the 50% discount back as OBC, once OB. Or, call your TA/CVP or call in to PCL. Good luck with that call in! Or, send a message to Customer relations to correct. They have a real problem correcting the App. SMH
  2. Not uncommon for them to disappear about 48 hours prior and they may reappear today or tomorrow. Sometimes they show up on the web version of the App. I wouldn’t worry about it. You can bring this up with the DRO or hostess at the MDR where you booked on the first evening. Hopefully, they will show it in their system. Have a great cruise!
  3. No, I booked through a TA and used PVP platinum insurance. Booked my flights and hotels independently. That’s where trip interruption came in to pay via the insurance. Explained very well by @NavyVeteran.
  4. Yes, my platinum insurance covered my hotel 2 nights, meals, uber transportation to hotel and flight change fee. Trip interruption. Good luck to you!
  5. That’s a Sunday return, so you should not have a traffic problem. But, here are the PCL guidelines.
  6. They may be working by ship. IDK. I have bookings from late 2024 through 2026, and so far, only 1 has been disabled for booking/accessing the MDR. Ruby 2025. So, sit back and relax. This may take a while! 🤣
  7. Thank you for posting! This is so sad that we won’t see them again on our cruises to Hawaii and the South Pacific cruises, but so great for them to retire! We just loved them and their warm Hawaiian grace. They taught us so much! Aloha and much love to you both on your next chapter of life. Mahalo🌺 Until we meet again.
  8. Try to delete old passport info first. Log out of App and then log back in. Then manually add your new passport info into the App. Worked for me.
  9. Not a nice way to end a cruise. Good you found a hotel. I don’t stand in line for a hotel or flight standing idly. I actually, look up protections on the airline App, sometimes they have it already. If it’s not acceptable or not protected, I stay in the line for help. Also, look for any available flight to get home. Although, if it’s weather related, it’s not helpful, as they won’t offline you. But, I have purchased airline tickets, just to get home, if it’s a refundable type ticket. I also check a site, like booking.com to see if any hotels are available. If so, I grab one. When you do get up to the CS airline agent, you can ask what they can do to help you. Hopefully, you all have insurance for your cruise, interrupted travel. Save all receipts, hotel, food, clothes, transportation costs, etc to submit. Screenshot airline availability on your phone, cancelled and protection flights. Best of luck to all!
  10. Yes, “no pilot” can definitely be weather related. Because of the weather, the crew can be out of position and unable to get to the next flight. Their flight could be cancelled inbound, many reasons due to bad weather. Unfortunately.
  11. That’s a link to oceanReady on the website. Do not try to link bookings on the website, it doesn’t work, never has. Are you off your cruise now? If you’re still OB, you can’t work on future cruises on the App. Only on the website. If you’re home, use the App to make dining reservations. You click book dining…pull up the MDR you want, look at the date, see top right corner. Person outline with a +. Click on that and add the other person’s booking number. Select the person/persons you want to add to your reservation. App has always been this way, adding their booking number in the dining section. However, you do not say when you’re traveling or the ship. They are updating the dining section of the App/website now. (Except Sun Princess) If you’re traveling before Sep 14th, go ahead and try the above. If you’re traveling later, you’ll need to wait until June 17th to book your dining MDR reservations. If you’re booking SD, or in reserve class, those should not be affected be affected by the dates or guidelines above. However, I have noticed some glitches in these changes on the App. So, I’m just waiting till June 17th to redo or book my MDR reservations for later this year. SMH
  12. They usually say by October. But, I’ve seen them come out in December and even in January. Go to the main thread for Value Trips, as someone will post as soon as the reservations open up. This is a very small scale operation, so you will need to wait until they’ve arranged prices with the hotel. You should book a backup reservation for your dates for 2025. Because, it is possible your dates may be a blackout date anyway. Checked and there are a lot of threads! Here’s the 2024 thread:
  13. You may hear moving of loungers/chairs late at night or early morning around the pool area. If you booked with a CVP/TA or PCL call them to see if any thing is available…same category. It may be possible. I would look at the deck plans, before you call and see what is available in your category. However, sometimes they may show more availability than you can see on the website. So call anyway. Good luck.
  14. Thank you for the update! I wonder if the regular guests have been advised, or just the casino players at this time?
  15. Yeah!!! Have a wonderful time! I know you are ready. ☺️
  16. We received one from Bottomline Technologies a couple of months ago and you had to open the letter to see it clearly. Bottomline Technologies for Princess Cruises. Couldn’t see all that through the windowed envelope. Bottomline….we got our refund! 😆 It took 6-8 weeks. Maybe they have different offices working refunds. Could vary with the mailing envelopes. IDK.
  17. You are so right. Why should we have it to ourselves when we visit Princess Cays? Well, at least we did for many years. Anyway, I’m happy it is helping their economy. Thank you for pointing that out.
  18. Definitely, while in port is a good idea. We did it for Juneau and it was 82 that day in early June. So hard to know. Haines would be a pretty backdrop. We have booked it, checked the weather, and then changed it a couple of times. We haven’t had a problem doing that. Just called RS to change it.
  19. Oh no! What a shame. Your pictures are beautiful. It “was” an unspoiled treasure, up until now. Thanks for posting. SMH
  20. There is a roll call from LA to PE. You could join that one or start one yourself. Some will join it closer to departure or after FP. See roll call Island Princess Jan 20, 2025.
  21. Sounds like the Ruby needs a dry dock upgrade on the Caribe deck. Did you notice if other balconies on the Caribe were drab also? IDK about the Grand, but hopefully it’s not the case. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I, for one, book those large balconies.
  22. 2 mos ago. They weren’t there, before we sat down to have cocktails and I asked. They had one come up and take a photo before our meal was served. Hope they continue it.
  23. That sounds amazing! This is our favorite dinner. The backdrop sounds great. We usually set it up for sail-away from a port. So, it’s not too windy and we have the view. The food is great and service is impeccable on every ship we’ve been on. They call ahead and verify the day and time and if any allergies. You can alter the menu a little if there is something you don’t like. They take your cocktail order and they set up the table. You get a chilled bottle of champagne, flowers and a photographer shows up for a photo. (All included). They set up a table/cart in the hall and send a waiter running back and forth for the main dinner items. Serving courses to you one at a time and staying in the hall most of the time. It’s a private, wonderful experience. Last time we had Moorea as our backdrop at sail-away. Beautiful! You will love it. 😍
  24. That is a very subjective and open ended question. You would need to determine what’s best for you. Be prepared to get a location or cabin that you may not want. Look to see, where the category you are bidding on, could be located. Check the deck plans. This is the most comprehensive and helpful thread I have seen on the bidding process. Check out the most recent posts of the 87 pages.🥴 Best of luck, making a decision. Thread doesn’t want to paste, just search cruise critic how is the bidding system doing? You’ll get the thread.
