  1. I assume you don't see a credit balance when looking at your booking online. The best option is to send an email to mscexistingreservations@msccruisesusa.com Put in your booking number and a concise account of what happened. I'd ask that a credit balance be put on the sailing, it might be easier than getting a refund and dealing with the dispute issue. When I had a credit balance it was refunded at the end of my sailing.
  2. How do you go about logging in a travel router as a device into the ship internet account?
  3. If you bid on Aurea or Yacht Club and were accepted that would change your dining situation. But it sounds like you are now in a Fantastica suite, balcony or ocean view since they state second seating. If you are still Fantastica you should be able to call and get your request set back to first seating.
  4. Since this appears to be a US booking official policy is that #3's deposit is refundable if cancelled before final payment - as long as it's not a Yacht Club cabin or World Cruise. While it's likely no issue will be caused I'd weigh how much the lost deposit refund would be as it's not unheard of for reservations being messed up when a change is made. I've read things like port fees, taxes, and even fare rate have been accidentally changed on numerous people's bookings, and it's also happened to me a couple times when I've made changes. It can be quite a pain to get the booking back to how it was.

    Wi-FI question

Strange, I see different pricing for four night from US:
  6. You can purchase these attractions separately with your cruise card. From app: Price: $ 80 Per person Fun Pass value: 140 Euro or Dollars depending on the currency on board The Fun Pass can be associated with 1 passenger only (credit cannot be split over several cruise cards), but can be used by the whole family. Valid for: MSC Formula Racer Bowling Interactive XD cinema Selected video games and other attractions that may be available on your ship Zip Line or Flight Simulator* Price:$ 80 Per person Attractions vary by ship. Once on board, please visit the Amusement area for details. Please note that the minimum height for the flight simulator, MSC Formula Racer and Zip Line is 43.5 in. *Zip Line is offered on MSC Seaside and MSC Seaview, the Flight Simulator is on MSC Meraviglia only.
  7. In several European ports I've used TripAdvisor to find a recommended private tour/transfer company. Don't get caught up in TripAdvisor's advertising per person tours, find the actual tour operators (their true website links are somewhat hidden but are listed). Once on the actual tour/transfer company's website you should be able to find a reasonable private tour for your group ending at the airport. Most of them are aware that you will have luggage and make accommodations in vehicle size so that your luggage stays with you in the vehicle.
  8. When I was last on Meraviglia in 2019 Aurea met in a lounge for disembarkation and went after self-assist, the Voyagers Diamond group left at the same time. We were just escorted to the end of the self-assit walk off line, but it was before any of the other color tags were called. Not that people waited for their assigned color/time to join the line, it was a bit of a free-for-all. I saw many people waiting in the luggage area unhappy that their luggage was not unloaded yet.
  9. There seems to be a lot of Meraviglia sailings with solo availability. Most have around 50% supplement, Christmas sailing even has availability, albeit a 100% supplement.
  10. Why does your blogspot require sign in with my gmail address?
  11. I booked Aurea on Meraviglia and had friends in Fantastica. I thought about just linking the bookings but decided to just talk to the maitre 'd on the first afternoon. Had no problem moving to the Fantastica set time dining with them. Just showing up at another table will only make both staff and possibly other passengers mad. Also unlikely to get both Aurea and set dining, you will need to move for the entire cruise. No problem hitting MDR then go to specialty. Although since you're paying for specialty I'd go there first, requiring getting the later set MDR dining time.
  12. The free Coral Way trolley into Miami runs to cruise terminal, stops between D and E terminals. You can connect with lots of other lines throughout the city. https://www.miami.gov/Transportation-Roadways/Trolley-Information/Trolley-Maps coral_way_trolley_map508 (1).pdf Uber is also readily available and usually pinpoints your terminal for pickup.

  14. This spring you could get single bookings with minimal supplement on lots of MSC sailings. Then it changed to what you see now.
  15. Usually with MSC you need to call, and additionally get a knowledgeable agent, to book transfers. Getting one from EWR to Brooklyn terminal is unlikely, please update if you are successful. ETA: I've used GO Airlink NYC a couple times to Manhattan hotels. Set price shared shuttle (they also offer private car service, but booking to Brooklyn may not be possible) was right at EWR baggage claim and very simple/professional. Uber and taxi are subject to significant cost inflation if you encounter traffic. For online booking use a nearby hotel as drop point, then just tell driver to drop you at Pier 11. Your ability to tote your luggage onto the ferry would be the only possible issue. Ferry drop is right at the cruise terminal. Additionally going through Manhattan skips trying the Verrazzano bridge.
  16. Are you flying in the day of sailing? Most ride share options are to Manhattan. Direct options from EWR to Brooklyn are few and get expensive. Perhaps you can book a GO Airlink NYC shuttle to a hotel near the Manhattan Pier 11, no need to be staying there. Then catch the short SB ferry ride over to Red Hook right near the Brooklyn Cruise terminal. https://www.goairlinkshuttle.com
  17. The 15% savings is that you don't pay a 15% gratuity on package total that is charged if purchased on board. https://www.mscbook.com/shop/TAPortalExternalView?storeId=10757&catalogId=10001&langId=-1004&taportalIframeKey=MENU_BEVERAGES Easy Package: PREPAID PRICE PER DAY (Including beverage gratuities) Cruises 6 nights and less: $49 per person Cruises 7 nights and more: $46 per person
  18. I think the ex-NCL execs now at MSC are turning Bella into the Sail Away rate of MSC. No specialty meals at reduced prices, pay the full price on the ship if you want it. Similar with beverages, internet, thermal spa and cabin choice - next thing is to start charging gratuities for drinks packages for Bella.
  19. In the past I have seen a lot of randomness in when MSC decides to make various add-ons available online. But this denial of pre-sailing specialty dining packages for Bella makes little sense. This, combined with Bella becoming guarantee and lack of date change flexibility appears to be a concerted effort to reduce Bella bookings.
  20. That has been my experience twice, but in my cases we were trying to move up cabin categories where the cost had dropped since we booked. It was still going to be additional money we would pay. MSC insisted we had to pay the difference as it was when we booked, several hundred more than the current prices. It seems in fairness that policy should be able to work on your favor also, but I've not yet been in your situation. And with all things MSC you're likely to get multiple answers. I'd definitely try. If they refuse then I'd look for a category that has dropped in price (might have to wait until closer to sail date) since you booked and call back to see if they give you the policy they told me. Then hit them with the lower balcony price when you booked.
  21. The 15% discount for booking before the sailing is that you don't pay a 15% gratuity when purchased on the ship. Packages on ship are the same price as pre-cruise plus 15% gratuity. The only real mark down of the drinks package cost is when you book an inclusive rate, where you also get wifi and some OBC. Remember MSC will make you purchase the drinks package for all cabin occupants regardless of when you purchase. To help with comparison Wifi is currently costing about $30 per day for the two device plan included with that rate. So, if these add-ons have any interest you might consider changing your booking rate. Since it appears you are already booked at the basic "cruise only" fare MSC will now lock this booking to where all other rates are what existed at the time of your booking. The same goes for moving to another cabin type. In other words you cannot wait for a lower rate and switch, you will be held to the rates as they were when you booked. Only cancelling and re-booking is possible to get a lower advertised rate. Items purchased as an add-on to your rate can be canceled, I believe, up to two days before sailing with credit back to original form of payment. You cannot cancel items included with the inclusive fare.
  22. On several MV sailing I've been watching there are lots of unsold YC cabins less than a month before sailing. Chances of winning any upgrade bid over minimum look good.

    Wristband

Wristbands can be used on the ship to open the cabin door, make purchases in bars and shops, and to enter the theater shows when reservations are needed. You will need to use the regular cruise card for getting off and back on the ship at ports.
  24. Assuming you booked in the US. As stated only Yacht Club bookings officially are not refundable, however in that case MSC offers limited flexibility to move the sail date or itinerary. For other cabin class bookings the last deposit refund date depends on length of sailing. Booking Terms and Conditions 230713.pdf
