  1. Seaside Evo ships, like Seascape, have a separate dining room for Aurea.
  2. Some travel agents do allow you to use the upgrade bidding program, some do not. It's possible you may need to have an MSC account profile with the "Allow offers from MSC" box checked. Bidding is for the cabin type, not a specific cabin or location (and evidently you may even get a higher category than you bid on). Usually the better cabin locations are booked directly, leaving the less desirable open. But if someone else gets upgraded they may vacate a desirable location.
  3. If you last sailed in Dec, 2018 your Voyagers Club membership should have expired back in Dec, 2022 - that's including the one year extension MSC gave during the pandemic. If yours doesn't expire until Dec, 2023 then MSC is doing an undeclared extension, which wouldn't surprise me given the newest offer of status matching to one level higher than normal. I think status matches may be drying up a bit. If you're sailing in YC the Diamond benefits won't be of much value. Specialty restaurant value would depend upon the ship, but again YC significantly makes up for the loss. ETA: Having a booking has never helped extend Voyagers Club membership date, you always needed to actually sail before the expiration date.
  4. There's lots of crew space on deck 14 that yields a bit of officer traffic in the central area. One issue I noticed is they tended to prop open the door that goes to the forward main elevator lobby. The YC elevator goes to all YC decks, 14 through 19, as well as a separate YC stairwell.
  5. Thanks for also putting this in the Cruise Critic reviews section.
  6. Sounds like what they did on World Europa where they took part of the La Brasserie buffet to reduce the load on the overcrowded YC restaurant.
  7. It's been mentioned that getting a glass of water at restaurants on Med sailings can be difficult, that's why MSC usually includes bottled water at meals for most US and UK bookings. I've always seen water and ice dispensers in the buffet and dont know about where soda machines are other than at bars so I tend to think the reviewer was either trying to get soda water or the bartender was not wanting to deal with a request for a glass of water.

    Why

Marine Traffic shows Seaside doing 19.5 Knots, not slow. But ETA at Miami is 6am.
  9. The main entry to the lounge is in the center, I don't think passengers are supposed to use the port or starboard doors.
  10. Aurea cabins come with access to the thermal spa area and amenities but no longer specific spa services like massages. Being able to book duplicate spa passes online is a poor feature of the MSC website, like being able to purchase the Easy Plus beverage package and internet when you already booked the rate which includes them.
  11. White are not available, colored are available and black is the one selected to book. ETA: My only concerns about 16002 are it is actually under the dining room directly above, luckily a seating area and not a waiter station, and the balcony position relative to the bridge extension. Balcony also has a slight cove forward. Otherwise it is in a quiet location with good access to the lounge and other services.
  12. The image of the tarped balcony on deck nine shows pergolas and steps leading to a hot tub forward of a glassed in area. This appears to be the "private" Spa sun deck area of deck eight, starboard side and forward. The picture looks like it was taken looking aft from the starboard side YC wing over the bridge, or perhaps the bridge itself. The deck 12 balcony above is actually in the same photo. I question if the work around the sports bar is related. .

    MSC Newbies

Lots of Seascape reviews here on Cruise Critic. There's a filter for cabin type but it's currently not working correctly. Not too difficult to scroll through the reviews. https://www.cruisecritic.com/cruise/msc/msc-seascape/reviews?

    Seascape

If you only want to see forum threads about Seascape then just use the search box and "Seascape" - much more difficult on mobile than on a computer because you will need to specify this MSC forum. Kind of the reason CC put that drop down search function there. But you won't find any ship's Roll Call using that drop down forum search function. For any MSC ship's Roll Call use the link above that search function. Scroll to your ship and there you will find the Roll Calls. There's also a drop down search box for month, be careful as that search box can miss a Roll Call if the person used a numeric date rather than spelling out the month.

    Seascape

That is not a Roll Call drop down list, it's just a filter tool that searches these forum threads for the particular ship name. The proximity to the Roll Call link is confusing.
  16. I just saw a friend's Bella booking where they are offered specialty dining packages. They booked about 40 days out. Perhaps there is confusion due to MSC's erratic timing when they offer the packages. The changes to the listed Bella benefits on the MSC website doesn't help.
  17. I have seen a few posts regarding no specialty restaurant packages for Bella but I just saw a friend's Bella booking where they are offered dining packages. I think a bit of this confusion is caused by MSC not listing the packages at consistent times before sail date.
  18. There might be some confusion above bringing up certain drinks packages not working in certain specialty restaurants, the question being addressing was bringing a bottle. I have seen it done in the MDR on numerous occasions, so as long as it's not obviously a bottle that's unavailable on the ship I doubt there would ever be an issue. It was on Meraviglia where I saw bringing in any outside drinks, be it glasses or a bottle, was banned at specialty restaurants. And, as stated, it was inconsistently applied.
  19. It seems to depend on the mood of whatever restaurant manager you happen to get. I've been able to bring drinks into specialty restaurants, but I usually have a drinks package and order another during the meal.
  20. I know people who were told they could not bring their Diamond bottle of sparkling wine into the specialty restaurant, which was actually their Diamond meal....
