  1. I always book lowest fare, which currently allows me to cancel or change my ticket without a penalty fee. If I cancel, I get a trip credit for future use. If I change the ticket I will pay any fare difference. I do this because I know that I will use the credit. It was really nice when AA removed the $200 change fee. I have even change some flights, just for the lower fare. As you have discovered there is a flexible tab which for a little higher fare allows a refund back to your original form of payment. (For flexible,) Although I never check the fare rules, there may be some restrictions. 21 day advance purchase or round trip requirements in the fare rules. As long as there are no such restrictions, you should be good. Honestly I never really noticed the flexible tab. Perhaps some one else has actually used the Flexible fare and they can be more helpful. Good luck
  2. Your October example is a very good one. Even with the 60% off for the second passengers, you will only be paying 1/2 the rate for two people. Probably only $300 for the suite OBC, but a great deal. Good luck. Interesting program. Wonder why Celebrity has taken this approach to reduce prices? Perhaps to avoid reducing prices for people booked non solo? Good fortune for solos. If I had available adjoining cabins in my category I woukd strongly consider booking two cabins.
  3. RTR 21-0, assuming you are asking about FBC flexible premium economy they are fully refundable. Prior to final, payment, you pay nothing. After final payment you pay $200 a person for. Refund. I have a slightly different experience as some others with AA flights on FBC. I almost always fly AA. I find AA FBC typically show later than other other airlines. I have always found the AA flights eventually. Therefore I have to wait as FBC does not allow you to book two one way fares. So it is worth checking back for a month or so. Of course there may occasionally be a particular AA that may not be available. Maybe I have just been lucky. But ever since I had to pay $200 per person to cancel my flights after final payment, I need a very significant savings to use FBC.
  4. John, I do feel sorry for you. It was clear that you were not actually blaming Celebrity for your passport problems. Passport renewals are working very effectively in the US right now. I received mine in about 5 weeks. Of course, this does not help you. Since you are risking a paid cruise, why are you waiting to us an expedited service? I assume you are just trying to save the extra fee? (In case your new passport arrives in time). If it was me I would not take the risk. Better to just pay an extra fee. Doesn’t seem fair to expect (and criticize Celebrity) for not allowing you to push out this cruise at this late date, when you are not even willing to pay an expedited fee to your government. Best of luck.
  5. You might want to make sure your FF number is reflected on you AA reservation on AA.com. You should keep checking for seat availability, because people cancel frequently. You can use AA.com. Expert Flyer is a subscription based tool that you can use to seat up a seat alert. I even use it to make sure my own seat does not become available. what is your flight number and date of your flight? Good luck.
  6. If your AA included a free checked bag when you own the appropriate CC, perhaps you did not have your FF number linked to your reservation. Although I created confusion with my typo, you do not need to use your CC to get the free checked bag with AA.
  7. I apologize. This should have said fly AA where it does not matter where you purchase the flight. unite has the purchase with your card requirement.
  8. We win a move up bid to a Villa on the Apex. It is an amazing suite. The only negative for us was there was no shade on the balcony. A very big negative for us.
  9. I seriously doubt whether that they would ever basically have non available on the list.
  10. I agree with Jim. You did not purchase your flights with your United Card. (I am sure that Celebrity did not use your card to actually purchase the flights). This as always been the case. Fly United where it does not make any difference how you purchase your flights or which card you use. The benefit is linked automatically to your FF account.
  11. It was their choice as normally they would be isolated in a hotel in Amsterdam. Personally I think it is very generous of Celebrity to give them an option.
  12. The answer to your question is that if it is made with “bar liquor” that is included with the Classic package, you will not be charged for Premium. There may be some exceptions, but I am not aware of any particular ones. Some drinks are only made with Premium liquors , for instance drinks from the WCB and large Martinis from the Martini bar. For those you will be charged the difference in price. The bottom line is that you should only be charged Premium prices if the drink is made with A Premium liquor.
  13. I have not been on a Celebrity cruise, since my TA in October 202. I will have to see, but it has common for Celebrity to offer substitution that were not from the Classic Package. But of course that is always an option.
  14. Never been a problem for me, but I will check a little closer next cruise. Usually I found that when Celebrity is out of a wine in the Premium package, they offer me a wine that is not on the list, but not one in the Classic package. Are you sure the wine was on the Classic package list or is that just an assumption,
  15. No, it would not. A shoreside concierge contacts me around 10 day before the cruise requesting my liquor choices, and Specialty Dining picks. Celebrity has always met my requests. I have never been able to book them directly before the cruise. Enjoy your cruise. Easy to make changes on board.
  16. Terry, I would say that has been the case with The premium wine availability since the beginning of the premium drink package. It has been happening for years. I would say it is the same in all the cruise lines that I have cruised. The wine list is never a list of guaranteed wines. Often the case in restaurants as well.
  17. Not having any wine at a price above the Classic level is a lot different that having every wine on the Premium list.
  18. I thought you were an adamant “cruise only” cruiser? Cunard might be interesting to drive. Can you provide the dates and ships for the three cruises that you compared? Thanks.
  19. You are obviously convinced that Club dining has special tables for full suite guest. Everyone is telling you that that has not been their experience. Nor as it been my experience, since the beginning of Club Dining. Perhaps the Star is/was different. The bottom line is that you felt pleased that they assigned you a suite table one night when you were not staying in a full suite. Do you have any pictures?
  20. I think the important consideration is how the current pricing compares to other cruise lines/choices Previous pricing is not really relevant.
  21. If you just cancel without rebooking, you will receive a Credit to use on a future cruise credit. minus the 100 fee per person. Easier to just transfer.
  22. The Luminae on the Apex is significantly larger than the Luminae on the S class.
  23. I agree. Princess shows all open FCC’s on line with the expiration date.
  24. That is also how it worked for me. I transferred by NRD to a different cruise. The whole deposit transferred and Celebrity added a $100 pp charge to the booking.
