  1. Greetings from San Juan. We are having a great cruise aboard Oasis. She is in great shape and service is wonderful. This has been a cruise of firsts for us. First Oasis class ship First Eastern Caribbean First CLS First time in Labadee I’ll be doing a complete review in a couple weeks but in the meantime here’s a little teaser of what’s to come… 😁
  2. Lost Mayan Kingdom was always my "go to" excursion for Costa Maya? Does anyone know of any similar replacements since they still do not appear to have reopened?
  3. Yes but isn't there a website that shows port bookings the extend beyond the currently released itineraries?
  4. Where is the best place to find South Hampton schedules?
  5. No, it is never cheaper on board. As for 31.99, that is the price that I see right now on all my booked cruises. During the recent sale it had dropped to 27.99. If your cruise isn't for a while, wait for the next sale and then purchase it. 4.00 a day isn't much but it is better in your pocket than theirs.
  6. And Royal calls it a "private island" https://www.royalcaribbean.com/guides/private-island-vacations-labadee
  7. The longest time for us was 2013 when we did our 20th anniversary trip to Europe. It wasn't a cruise but we flew to England, Scotland, Norway and France over 23 days. We had him with a single colleague of my wife's who had never had a cat before and wanted to try and see how they liked it. He was quite standoffish with us for a couple of days when we got back and then like a switch got flipped he wouldn't leave my wife's side.
  8. Perhaps there will be balloons spotted floating over Miami?.
  9. I am the aforementioned grand parent in this story. I'm glad my brilliant TA discovered this before I was standing at the pier with 3 disappointed grand kids. waiting for luggage to be returned that had already been moved onto the ship. What a heartbreaking scenario that would be.
  10. I have stopped staying in hotels that don't offer daily service. You aren't going to charge me more and give me less and not have me respond in some way.
  11. Our first and only cruise on NCL back in November had once a day service. I didn't like it. I literally didn't see my cabin steward once through out the cruise. I don't know where he was or what he was doing when I came back to my cabin in the mornings or afternoons but he was a ghost. The cabin was tidied once a day and the towel were replaced at that time. Sometimes this happened in the morning, sometimes it happened in the afternoon. It was disappointing to return to the cabin at 11:30am and still see a disheveled room. I don't expect much in the evenings but I do want ice. I need it for my knee. I put it in a large ziplock bag and on my knee at the end of each day as I'm retiring and reading before lights out. We are extremely tidy people and rarely eat or drink in our cabin so no cleaning needs to take place in the evening but a refreshed room is just really really nice to come to in the evening after dinner. Also, and I don't care what anyone has to say, but I also like towel animals. They are a fun "cruise thing" that brightens the evening when you come in after dinner. With the ever increasing auto gratuities a decrease in service from those tipped employees seems a little hard to take. I always tip extra after the auto gratuities to our Cabin steward. Continuing to offer an extra tip after a decrease in service, if it reflects our NCL experience, will be difficult to justify in my mind. We shall see how this unfolds.
  12. That was my first thought too. If I sustained my normal cruise routine over that extended period I'd die! I'd probably die just on one leg. The 8 day is a good number. We did had that on Odyssey this time last year. That extra days is just perfect to get that longer feel. We've got that 9 day Can/NE in 2024. I'm sure I'll love the extra day. I got to talking to Sharron about 2026. That'll be my 60th birthday and my, hopefully, my retirement year. I told her I want to do the TA from Cape Liberty to Southhampton and then stay on for whatever 7 day follows that. 2023 and 2024 have Norwegian fjords following. If that was still the trend that would be perfect. That'd be 18 or 19 days. That'd be the longest I have done but if it was on the back of retirement I think I could handle it.
  13. As much as I love cruising, I think the whole thing would just be too much for me. I'd love to do a segment though. It's not possible but 63 nights would be amazing.
  14. Those pictures are from 8568. 8568, like 8570 is a 5D standard balcony. It has more furniture than is typical but is certainly not big enough to be a Jr suite. This is what a Jr suite on Liberty looks like.
  15. 8570 appears to be a standard 5D balcony cabin towards the forward part of the ship. It is can hold up to 3 people. There doesn't appear to be anything special or troublesome about this one. It is between decks with cabins so noise should not be an issue. Here are pictures from 8568 which would be the exact same. These were taken in 2017
  16. If you are in a pinch you can use my name and number. 🙂
  17. You don't need to book it. It's not busy. Just show up and they will seat you.
  18. I do this all the time now. I've never seen it busy at lunch. I just walk in and the seat me.
  19. Just checked my picture of my Navigator menu and, sure enough, it was 19.99. I didn't notice the upped the price.
  20. Awesome, say hi to my Raj from Dave 🙂 He sees so many people I'm sure he won't remember me but I thought he was great.
