  1. Years ago we were in aft facing 10318 next to the secret stairs. When we arrived balcony was set up with two chairs and one table. We asked room steward for a lounger and helped him carry it through the cabin. We had the two chairs and table on one side of balcony and the lounger on the other. I posted photos on Cruise Critic years ago and pirated copies are on cruise deck plans (lol recognized my purse). Here is a YouTube video by Louis Salvino of aft facing 12310. Our balcony was a little wider but depth appears same looking at the lounger layout. Loved the aft facing cabin but there was always some vibration and coming in to port was an early morning alarm clock 🙂
  2. 0125 should have two seater loveseat it is slightly larger than 0126 which should have a one seater loveseat or no loveseat there are a few photos and a couple videos on cruise deck plans could also check out YouTube
  3. Long time primarily NCL cruiser booked on MSC Meraviglia this September. For check in on NCL ships there are separate lines depending on your latitude classification. As Sapphire (now Diamond) with NCL our line was usually much shorter than the other categories. We are status matched with MSC as Diamond and are booked in Aurea balcony stateroom. I've watched Youtube videos of the Yacht club check in and would love that but not affordable right now. When we get to Brooklyn port what is the procedure for Aurea/Diamond ? Thanks in advance
  4. I experienced the same miracle for upcoming cruise on the Meraviglia. So far all good.
  5. Google provides this https://www.ncl.com/sites/default/files/Direct_Guest_Reservation_Transfer_Form.pdf and this https://www.ncl.com/downloads/docs
  6. Prices do look high on that cruise. Various on line travel agencies are showing balconies & club balconies available to book (not just guarantee). BA category 21 available on deck 10 66 on deck 9 MA club balcony 39 available on deck 11 Not much difference between the balcony and club balcony pricing.
  7. Here is a kind of fun video re Yacht Club boarding at Red Hook I wish there was something similar for Aurea boarding .... don't know when the "priority" starts as Sept 24th will be our first MSC cruise.
  8. The Star and sister ship Dawn do not have forward facing observation lounges. The space was transformed into suites and inside staterooms years ago.
  9. wanted to be sure you saw this in post #5 The staterooms come and go ..... just rechecked first website and verified with a second and the H1 category Penthouse Suite w/balcony now shows 6 available on deck 14 and none on 13. The HE category changed from 7 to 5 on deck 17.
  10. I'm not a travel agent, just an obsessive cruise shopper. There are many on line travel agencies where you can price a cruise. Some limit the number of staterooms they show as available to 15 in a stateroom category (like NCL used to do). If they are showing 13 available that should be it, if showing 15 there could be more. The staterooms come and go ..... just rechecked first website and verified with a second and the H1 category Penthouse Suite w/balcony now shows 6 available on deck 14 and none on 13. The HE category changed from 7 to 5 on deck 17.
  11. Agency I checked shows following Haven availability for Joy 8/13/2023. Sorry I can't share name as it's against CC policy. H1 Haven Penthouse Suite w/balcony 3 (all on deck 13) HG Haven Forward Facing PH w/balcony 1 (deck 10) HE Haven Courtyard PH w/Lg balcony 8 (1 on deck 18, 7 on deck 17)
  12. We status matched from NCL to MSC years ago as Black which then changed to Diamond. Covid happened and our MSC status kept getting extended which we really appreciate. We're now Diamond on NCL and ready to branch out as some recent NCL actions have made us a little unhappy. MSC Diamond status expires 12/31/2023 so I booked the Meraviglia 9/24/2023 Canada/New England cruise on MSC USA website. Final payment is not due yet. Booked Aurea mainly because we love NCL's open dining. I thought when I booked cruise I input both my voyager # and dh's voyager # but the MSC booking only shows my number. We both received the browse one device and the easy plus drink package. I received $100 non-refundable OBC, dh received -0-. When I did the passenger data section for the cruise on the MSC website it would not let me add dh's voyager number. If I do a mock booking and input his number and birth date it does match up. Not sure what to do now as I've read quite a few horror stories about snafu's happening if you call MSC for help. Can someone help out an MSC newbie ?? Thanks in advance
  13. To redeem Worldpoints for Onboard Credits, Cruise Upgrades, Discounts and More* call Norwegian at 1-866-954-4077. Usually when I call I ask if I've reached the Worldpoint Department because sometimes if they are very busy other NCL employees answer. To redeem Worldpoints for Cash, Merchant Gift Cards, Statement Credits and More* call Bank of America at 1-800-434-8313 (or log onto your account at bankofamerica.com) *for a full list of available rewards, log onto your account at bankofamerica.com
  14. Don’t laugh but author is SailorJack. Thread title is The dream? Or the nightmare? (Or why I may give up cruising?) His signature has links to his reviews. I loved that one, still makes me laugh.
  15. Looks like a very good location .... starboard, just a few staterooms from front elevators, bed by balcony which is my preferred location on the Epic, good sized balcony large enough for couple chairs, little table and lounger This YouTube video is of port side NCL Epic 9106, similar location but much closer to lifeboats than 11099. Video will give you an idea of stateroom and balcony size.
  16. YouTube has a number of Norwegian Spirit tours ..... here is one by Chris Frame We were on her years ago and would love to sail her again.
  17. I'm so sorry this has happened to you. We were on the April 15 Trieste to Lisbon cruise. We had booked an NCL shore excursion (Murano Glass & Burano Lace) because we were not sure how NCL was going to handle the tendering and I figured NCL tours would have first option. Originally our meeting point was Stardust Theater at 7:45am .... we then received new excursion tickets showing 6:30am Stardust meeting time. As Ozmodiar mentioned we had a Shore Provided two deck boat for the 90 minute tender from the Star to the Venice cruise terminal. We did not have inside covered seats but luckily my upstairs seat provided photo taking opportunity. The views were amazing and I'm very glad we did the excursion. At the terminal we followed our tour guides to smaller boats for the actual MG/BL tour and after the tour were returned to the cruise terminal. Rather than trying to get in to Venice proper we just went in to the terminal where we waited to board one of the large boats for the 90 minute trip back to the Star. We did hear from other cruisers not on NCL shore excursions that they had no idea what to do when they got to the Venice cruise terminal so they gave up and returned to the shipl The tender schedule showed Group 1 6:30 am, Group 2 10:00 am, Group 3 1:00 pm (last tender going ashore) for ship to shore. There were a variety of returning shore to ship times with the last tender back to the ship at 7:00pm. We spent two nights in Venice staying couple blocks from Venezia Santa Lucia train station. The morning of the cruise we walked to the station and took the shorter distance train from Venice to Trieste. It took less than 2 1/2 hours, was very inexpensive, train car was very nice and not at all crowded. We couldn't figure out the ticket machine but a very nice rr employee showed us how to buy our tickets and actually walked us out, validated tickets and showed us where to board. Sometimes it is nice to be older 🙂 Hopefully you will be able to see Venice ..... we dearly loved it.
  18. In my post (10) I should have said $99 plus gratuity for current 15 day cruise on the Star for additional 2 meal package to be purchased within first 3 days of sailing.
  19. We are on the Star now, day 14. freestyle daily shows you can purchase 2 specialty dining package for $99 during first 3 days of voyage. l think it was $79.99 before cruise. We had 5 specialty dinners. We used two at LaCucina, food and service excellent both times. Dinner and service at LeBistro was very good. Moderno was worst specialty meal we’ve ever had on NCL. Salad bar very minimal and contents were disappointing. Nothing like Moderno salad bar a few years ago. Of the included sides all I ate was rice, rest were unappealing. Meat offerings ok and we sampled 3. We would have appreciated a more well rounded meal. Dinner at Cagney’s tonight.
  20. This YouTube video tour of Gem 11106 shows how the sofa is changed into a double bed.
  21. Last year we received real luggage tags for our May Alaska cruise on the Bliss. We did not receive luggage tags for our upcoming 15 day cruise on the Star so I printed them from the link in cruise docs. We still have the old skinny luggage tag holders from Amazon but with the help of scissors, ruler and scotch tape they came out fine.
  22. We are set to arrive in Venice early evening on the 13th and staying two nights in apartment very close to Santa Lucia train station. Will take train to Trieste on the 15th. Thanking my lucky stars the scheduled Italy train strike is the 14th and not the 15th although am hoping strike is cancelled because I know fellow cruisers are/were planning on train travel on the 14th. Since the Star is scheduled to leave Trieste at 10:00 pm we’ll have time to drop our bags and see some of Trieste.
  23. Thank you both. We are on a 15 day med cruise sailing from Venice (Trieste) and ending in Lisbon.
  24. Our apartment hotel in Lisbon where we'll be spending two nights after the Star cruise is asking for an estimated arrival time. This is the first time we've ever done a cruise that ended in a port not in the US so not sure what to tell them. NCL website shows disembark 6:00am ..... following Star cruise embarks 8:00 pm. Has anyone ended cruise in Lisbon before? Karen
