  1. As stated above your mentioned staterooms have the convertible sofa at the balcony door Also from Cruise Deck Plans 11072 bed and convertible sofa are on left side of stateroom 11074 bed and convertible sofa are on right side of stateroom which would make bed and convertible sofa on left side of stateroom in 11076 and bed and convertible sofa on right side of stateroom in 11082 another photo shows bed on left side of stateroom in 11088 which follows the above pattern Here is a YouTube video of 11070 byTraveling with the Philips showing set up with bed and sofa on right side of stateroom
  2. Deck 8 mid-ship won't have anything noisy beneath you (staterooms above). Bliss Ultra-Lounge is aft deck 7 on the Dawn.
  3. The duty-free gift shops are aft deck 7 on the Jewel and the Jade. Bliss Ultra (loud) Lounge is aft deck 7 on the Pearl and the Gem.
  4. I'm so sorry this happened to you and so close to your cruise date that you have no alternative choices. My guess is that someone with pull wanted your stateroom on this particular sailing. No way do I believe that NCL is reclassifying the angled balconies to "single" whatever that may mean. Did you book direct on line or through an NCL PCC or a travel agency? Is there someone who can go to bat for you? Your stateroom may be gone but is there a higher category that may have more room that they can upgrade you into? If they're still processing bids something should be available. You are a long time CC poster and NCL supporter and I think NCL should make this right for you.
  5. Thank you both very much.. The Cagney's menu looks better to me than Le Bistro. Years ago on our Panama Canal cruise one of our traveling group ordered the Tomahawk and ate the entire thing by himself! A retired pharmacist who should have know better lol. I see Tomahawk is gone from the menu.
  6. I did that ..... Cagney's menu is not there. Menu is available on all of the other Star specialty restaurants (April 15, 2023 cruise).
  7. Would someone please post the current Cagney's menu that shows prices. The other restaurant menus come up on NCL website but Cagney's doesn't. Thanks so much. Karen
  8. Again, this is off topic because it pertains to the one time one category upgrade when you reach Diamond latitude level on NCL instead of NCL Worldpoints upgrade ...... but here is the terms and conditions for the Diamond upgrade. Club balcony is highest you can go, not regular balcony. Larry ad I will both be diamond after our Star med cruise this April. This is from the Latitude terms and conditions One-Time Free Cabin Upgrade – Diamond Diamond members will be offered a one-time complimentary cabin upgrade once they have reached the Diamond tier. The cabin upgrade is valid for one category increase from the category that the guest booked. The Latitudes member must first make their booking, then call to redeem their complimentary cabin upgrade. The cabin upgrade is not eligible for Suites or Haven. The highest cabin category that a member may be upgraded to is Club Balcony. Eligible members will have one (1) year to take the complimentary cabin upgrade after graduating to the Diamond tier. The complimentary cabin upgrade may only be redeemed once for each member. There are no destination restrictions but holiday sailings are excluded. All upgrades are subject to availability. This benefit is not combinable with other cabin upgrade promotions or offers. Taxes and fees are not included. Complimentary cabin upgrades are non-transferable. Terms and conditions are subject to change and inventory is subject to availability.
  9. Received the Get Upgraded email today for our April 15th cruise on the Star.
  10. I've noticed that NCL often shows staterooms as "guarantee" when there are still bookable balconies available on various travel agency websites (the same balconies). If you are talking about the Star on May 11, 2023 there are still some BA balconies available for booking without going the guarantee method and having NCL choose your stateroom. I checked a couple travel agency websites and it looks like there are 14 on 10 and one (11618) on deck 11. The one on 11 would have a larger balcony than those on deck 10. One of the websites used does not limit the amount of staterooms they show in a category and it is only showing 14 on 10. However, numbers rise and fall as staterooms are booked and cancelled/released. When we were going to do the Gem T/A followed by Gem Med cruise in April the number swing on BA availability was astounding on the April 30 cruise. Take a look at TA sites and see if something appeals to you. Then call NCL, give them the stateroom number and ask them to book it. You can change stateroom number later in same category if one you like better appears. I did this multiple times on the above mentioned Gem cruises.
  11. Here is a Youtube video of 12530 posted by Roberto Martinez
  12. Should be at least one large drawer that pulls out from under the sofa. Be sure to check out the Observation Lounge. One of my favorite places on the Bliss, especially for a light breakfast or lunch and there is a very nice bar there 🙂 Have a wonderful cruise.
  13. Will be interesting to see if the palm tree lights are still on the pool deck
  14. As you walk into stateroom bed is on the right next to the closet. TV is across from the sofa that is to the right of the bed. I'm a right side sleeper so this is my preferred stateroom configuration. I can see the tv and the balcony 🙂
  15. LOL mine is gone too. Not that we could have used it since we'll already be on an NCL ship.
  16. I'm Sapphire .... no military discount. Coupon is useless to me since we'll already be on an NCL cruise.
  17. I'm sorry for your past experience. Watching our parents age and decline can be so heartbreaking. Beautiful photo. Our cruise story did have a happy ending "Luckily at our CC Meet and Greet someone said he upgraded ON THE SHIP from a balcony to a mini-suite so I knew there was at least one empty stateroom. I appealed to the Hotel Director and we were given a balcony stateroom on deck 9 which we used after dinner and for sleeping. It was a hassle but much better than the alternative. "
  18. Sun 2 Pearl 4 Star 4 Spirit 1 Epic 2 POA 1 Getaway 1 Dawn 1 Jewel 3 Jade 1 Bliss 3 We're booked on back to backs on the Gem next April.
  19. The Bridge Viewing room is forward on Deck 13. On port side it is above staterooms 12000 to approximately 12044. On starboard side it is above staterooms 12001 to 12017. Don't know that this would generate any noise in the staterooms below. Take a look at cruise deck plans deck-drag section for Norwegian Epic.
  20. LOL now I see what you were saying. If they are talking about the large white area it could be housekeeping storage space.
  21. I understand that .... I think their concern was what was between the staterooms because of the solid white line on the deck plan and I think the answer is nothing. The balconies look like any other angled balcony with similar configuration.
  22. Here is a good YouTube video by M the Traveler showing the port side of the Epic as she sailed by the Symphony of the Seas. Deck 12 is the 5th row of balconies counting from the bottom. Very clear view of these stateroom balconies.
  23. I'm sorry...... you are directly above the entertainment section of the Bliss Ultra Lounge. Here is a copy and paste from a Dawn review done in 2019 of 8661 "We've sailed on many cruises and we've had rooms all over a variety of different ships. Our room on this ship was 8661 that was directly over the Bliss Lounge, which is really the only place for nighttime entertainment on this small boat. Needless to say our room was SO LOUD until 2 am every. single. night. I could sing every single word of every song that the band or dj was playing because the music was SO LOUD and the walls were so thin. We are a younger family with two kids (8 & 11) so we were back in the room by midnight each night and we all struggled to sleep. Unless you plan to close the club down every single night and you won't hear the noise because you'll be out anyway, DO NOT BOOK THE AFT ROOMS ON DECK 8! " I could sympathize and understand the above reviewer. We had an aft facing balcony (which I normally dearly love) on deck 8 of the Pearl above Bliss Ultra Lounge. Not only could we hear every word of every song played but we could feel the bass thumping. I was traveling with my recently widowed mother who had dementia. She hated the music, the thumping and shaking and just couldn't understand why it was happening. Every time a song started up we went through the same conversation. When I complained Guest Services said the ship was totally booked so there was nothing they could do. They did send someone to the room to listen and he agreed bass and sound level were both excessive. They requested that the bass be turned down and that helped a little. Luckily at our CC Meet and Greet someone said he upgraded ON THE SHIP from a balcony to a mini-suite so I knew there was at least one empty stateroom. I appealed to the Hotel Director and we were given a balcony stateroom on deck 9 which we used after dinner and for sleeping. It was a hassle but much better than the alternative. If you go to the drag deck section of the free cruise deck plans you can see what is above and below your stateroom. Here is link to a YouTube tour of the Dawn by Cruising Canucks. The Bliss Ultra Lounge starts about 10 minutes into the video.
  24. Normally NCL excursions meet in the theater. There will be instructions where to meet on your shore excursion tickets. It is possible the ship will arrive in St Thomas early. Even if it doesn't there is shopping very very close to where the ship docks.
