Now I am jealous ...... have been looking at that "stupid" Norwegian Escape April 16th coupon in my Latitudes Account for quite a while now. It is useless to me since we are boarding the Norwegian Star on April 15th for a 15 night cruise. I would have loved to have the special Latitudes packing cubes for the NCL cruise I will be on :)

I found following by google search ...... for some reason thinking Spinnaker would be forward facing observation lounge which disappeared from Star when suites were added years ago "Norwegian Star underwent a refurbishment in summer 2018 during which it received the Sky High Bar (which replaced the Bier Garten), the Bliss Ultra Lounge (which replaced Spinnaker Lounge) and the adults-only Spice H2O"

It's been a long time since we've been on the Star but based on watching a number of fairly recent YouTube videos I think she looks to be in very good condition. We are happily booked on the Star for a 15 night cruise leaving Trieste on April 15th and ending in Lisbon April 30th because this is the ship that offers the fabulous itinerary. The Star is pretty far down our list of favorite NCL ships because of the lack of forward facing observation lounge and Great Outdoors on the stern but itinerary wins on a major bucket list cruise. We'll both be diamond on NCL after this cruise so obviously enjoy the NCL product. The Star lacks some of the bells and whistles of newer ships but will serve wonderfully as a floating hotel to get us where we want to go.

There are many videos on YouTube of Getaway Haven aft facing staterooms. Check and see if there is one for your stateroom because you might be pleasantly surprised.

Couple more things NCL does not provide ottomans or footstools for any of their balcony staterooms. You get two chairs and a tiny table. If balcony is deep enough for a lounger often there is already one there. If not in past we requested from our stateroom attendant and gave extra tip for the extra work involved. Don't know if this will be more difficult now. The Sun is a very different ship (one we love). Go on YouTube and watch some videos. There is a very recent video Norwegian Sun Aft Facing balcony. Not going to post link because it is by travel agent (tall one lol) but he does very good videos. Here is a YouTube drone video of the Sun so you can see the balcony set up .... very different than other NCL ships.

Regarding Norwegian Star, Dawn and the Jewel class ships, Deck 10 is the deepest, deep enough for loungers. Here is a YouTube video from 6 years ago so furniture is outdated but balcony not changed This is video of an aft facing suite on Deck 9 .... couldn't find one of regular aft facing balcony in quick search. At 5:26 he goes out onto the balcony. You can see the balcony depth is much less than the one on deck 10. The deck 9 aft facing suite balcony is wider than the regular deck 9 aft facing balcony but the depth is the same. Word of warning DO NOT BOOK aft facing balcony on Deck 8 on the Star They are located above Bliss Lounge and the floors and walls of your stateroom will shake and you will hear every word of the songs played (played even if the Lounge is empty). There is a reason these are almost always available on the Star, Dawn, Pearl and Gem.

As mscdivina2016 kindly put it ..... he (whoever told you he could get you aft facing balcony by Worldpoint upgrade) was not being truthful. Maybe he had too many drinks at dinner?? I suggest you call the NCL Worldpoint Department at 1-866-954-4077 and discuss stateroom upgrade by point options with them for your cruise. If you call ask if you've reached the NCL Worldpoint Department because sometimes when they are really busy someone else answers the phone and they won't be able to help.

Thank you .... lol if I had done it one day earlier the price for the MB was $1,529. I was watching the MA inventory and waiting for the staterooms under the big overhang to disappear. When price went up to $1,599 decided I better move on it. Does have the big overhang but on bright side bed is in location I prefer and it is not a connecting stateroom and is close to center stairs so I am happy with assignment.

Paid just the difference between two prices. It was $452.00 additional made up of $220.00 per person cruise fare and $6.00 pp gratuity for the extra specialty meal.

I am booked on the Star April 15th and have the air promo. Originally booked an IA inside for $1,379 pp. On Saturday I upgraded to a MB (club balcony with perks) guarantee for $1,599 pp and was assigned an MA club balcony Monday. Price for booking the MA outright was $3,139 pp. Currently there are no club balconies available on the sailing. I'm Sapphire and only need 30 points to Diamond. By upgrading I lost the triple points on this cruise but there isn't much difference in perks so decided the larger stateroom would be very nice for 15 night cruise.

USB ports are in the bedside lamps as well as in another location. During the last renovation they were installed in all staterooms on the Star. At 1:30 into following video of regular Star inside stateroom you can see the lamp USB ports. and just for fun here is a sideways inside from the Pearl

Norwegian Escape for one

Sorry that the Brussels Sprouts are gone but your question made me laugh. My dh always swore he'd never eat Brussels sprouts. However, on one of our NCL cruises I ordered them and he decided to have a bite and he LOVED them. What's not to love as long as it has garlic and bacon ?? Once in a while we go to happy hour at Oswego Grill and get their Brussels Sprouts to share along with whatever else we're ordering.

Very strange ..... my computer also picks up the old Latitude Tier Benefits using both Safari and Firefox. When I click on your link in post 15 I can see the new Latitude Tier Benefits page but as soon as I leave that page and go to my booked cruise (or anything else) and return to the LTB's it reverts back to the old version. I've tried clearing history etc. Thanks for posting the new version 🙂

I've played in the Casino once in a while but never had a CAS booking. My Sun+OBC+Offer doesn't look like a Casino at Sea status level.

There was a fairly long thread about this but I can't find it right now. It is a mystery lol. Mine says Sun+Offer+OBC. I am Sapphire latitude and booked on the Star.

BA reservation says All passengers must have a seat before you can continue The question is for this particular flight BA266 or BA0266 which rows of seats have equipment boxes underneath them. Since we're not checking bag and we're traveling for almost two weeks we need to be able to put a bag underneath seat in front of us. Is there any way to tell?

on my reservation BAC website is letting us choose seats and it says no fee. Only flight I can see configuration for is first flight. Can’t proceed without choosing seats. I was surprised we are being given the option as we have no status with BA.
