  1. It might be nothing to do with anybody on the ship. More likely to be a yacht or similar.
  2. Just booked Fred for Apri 2024 out of Soouthampton.
  3. That did cross my mind!! We are on Aurora in October, but I've booked Fred for April 2024.
  4. Yes, sounds like us. I don't need all those extras.
  5. When we did Canada and USA with P&O, there were great excursions offered at every port and much cheaper than the ship ones.
  6. Just google all the ports and see what is there. We don't do ship excursions. Always DIY. It's good fun.
  7. Well that's it, have booked Bolette for April 2024 - Islands of the Azores. All excited now to try a new ship.
  8. Response from Ludlow's office with no explanation, just that operational reasons sometimes happen. They are "so sorry" I am disappointed and I can transfer my cruise if I want.
  9. I am the same. Usually wear cocktail dress or black trousers with something sparkly.
  10. Except they have now cancelled Rhodes and exchanged it for Messina. So a nnoyed.
  11. You can't just write off all P&O's passengers. We have met some lovely people and some awful ones. That;s normal, no matter how much you pay.
  12. Think it depends who you get. We are Caribbean and we checked in with our friend at our time and not hers. No questions asked.
  13. At over £200 per night, there is no way we would pay that.
  14. In 2007, we paid £2344 each for an outside cabin in Artemis - 25 nights. In 2008, we paid £2009 each for an outside cabin on Artemis - 26 nights In 2009 we paid £1724 each for an inside cabin on Azura - 16 nights.
  15. You don't get both free parking and on board credit. One or the other. You need to work out whether the drinks package is worth it. It isn't for us, even with a large glass of wine before dinner, bottle of wine with dinner and the odd coffee. Both people have to take the package and I could not get through £40 every day. Dining is all in unless you want to go to one of the specialty restaurants. Denim jeans are fine unless it's a formal night when you will not be able to eat in the main dining room. You would need to use the buffet.
  16. Andrew agree. Nothing like the lovely Prom deck on Aurora. It's wide enough to keep away from the cigarettes too! LOL
  17. Yes, you may well be right. I looked back to the price of our cruises in 2013 and 2014 and actually it wasn't that much more expensive. A little, but not much. Food was definitely better.
  18. I wasn't cruising 25 years ago, but cruising was definitely better 10 years ago in my opinion.
  19. That's us. Inside cabin, DIY ashore, don't pay extra for meals (yet!) but trying Sindhu on our next one. We do drink though 🙂 Main reason for not doing P&O excursions is hate being on a coach with 50 people and listening to all that stuff from the guide. Also, we have been to some super places on our own. On our 5 th time in Venice, we got the train to Luca, what a lovely day.
  20. To be honest, the only thing I appreciate it the discount on spend. They can keep everything else.
  21. I never thought of re-using the bag!! I don't do the welcome lunch either.
  22. Have never found it to be that crowded yet and there are other places on Aurora. Library etc.
  23. Nope, we just go to the Crow's nest with a book!
  24. I hate those slippers. I don't even bring them home. What is the advantage of Baltic?
  25. Not happened to us yet!! |Much prefer to be up and about on the ship watching the comings and goings from the Prom deck
