  1. No one but Royal knows exactly how it works. We can speculate though. Cabins can be assigned that never appear on the website for someone to book.
  2. There are two time limits placed on future cruise certificates issued by NextCruise. 60 days to get OBC with a booking 12 months until it expires. I am not aware of any way to get around the 12 month limitation. It can be used by someone else so if you know anyone such as a family member you could use it to book them a cruise and then how you deal with the financials is between you two.
  3. I don't think they try to pre-plan hurricane contingencies because hurricane impacts are not known until they are about to occur. Without knowing the track of a tropical storm and the timing it would be impossible to run endless what-if scenarios for hundreds of itineraries. Royal has been dealing with the impacts of tropical storms long enough to know what works and when to make changes. The vast majority of cruise itineraries during hurricane season go off exactly as planned.
  4. I am so lucky. All these problems with coffee machines have escaped me. I drink my coffee black and have never had issues in any lounge. Having said that I have probably doomed my next cruise coffee experience.
  5. Test load on the Chinese site Spectrum of the Seas June 6, 2025 5 night from Shanghai Fri 06Jun2025 Shanghai (Baoshan), China 4:30 PM Boarding Sat 07Jun2025 Cruising Sun 08Jun2025 Kagoshima, Japan 7:00 AM 5:00 PM Docked Mon 09Jun2025 Fukuoka, Japan 10:00 AM 7:00 PM Docked Tue 10Jun2025 Cruising Wed 11Jun2025 Shanghai (Baoshan), China 7:00 AM-Departure
  6. I'm not aware of any plans to sail from Hawaii to Singapore. sea-distances.org shows it to be around 16 days with no stops.
  7. Just to show how important Perfect Day at CocoCay is, they have a column in the chart from post 1762 just for PDCC. Someone's job is to fill that column as much as possible 🙂
  8. I'm looking forward to my 2024 Spectrum sailing but I booked a suite knowing I'll have access to silver and golden dining privileges. As the world returns to "normal" post shutdown I am once again booking more cruises farther from home. Culturally enriching to me is a positive.
  9. I guess a lot has changed in 19 years. Now the benefits of booking on board are potentially lower deposits and some OBC but not what you experienced in 2004. It never hurts to shop NextCruise but I've found it best to go there having done some research first. Remember you can visit royalcarribean.com for free without a paid Voom plan using tbe ship wifi.
  10. Posting this here since it was updated June 1. Mildly interesting is Quantum shown as doing SEA to SIN, then SIN to BNE in October 2024 yet the website is selling Vancouver to Hawaii on Quantum Oct. 1 after the Alaska season. https://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal/Deployment/2024_2025/2024-2025_Deployment_Summary.pdf
  11. The Radisson Colon 2000 hotel is very close to the terminals. A few months ago Radiance stopped at the closest terminal. During the day it was fine. Grocery store and restaurants right there. That's a brutal start time though. Keep an eye on some roll calls before your sail date. Surely someone will do it before your cruise. Worst case cancel it a few days before or if you find something more appealing.
  12. But have a slightly lower post count. 🙂
  13. While it's well known here on CC that doesn't make it any easier to discover this once you board in Rome. I hope you are able to still enjoy your cruise despite this shortcoming.
  14. I used YouTube to search for some cabin videos and found some videos of the Sky Junior Suite for example. To me they look like a standard Quantum class JS but with Sky Class benefits and located close to the Golden Suite area which is unique to Spectrum. While Odyssey doesn't have this area, Odyssey does have the same aft facing balcony and JS cabins. There are many YT videos that highlight those cabins that you won't find on the pre-Ultra Quantum class.
  15. The standard caveat applies to cruising without a passport. If something occurs mid-cruise and you need to fly home, you would not be able to fly internationally without passports for everyone, baby included.
  16. What is your nationality, where do you live and where are you cruising?
  17. There have been a couple trip reports from North American guests. If you search for "Spectrum" in thread titles you should be able to find them. There are also some Spectrum Cruise Compasses over at Royal Caribbean Blog dot com. As far as negative reviews I ignore them. I'm going next year before Spectrum heads back to China so anything you learn this summer would be great to know.
  18. This photo is so misleading. The ship was docked when the poorly maintained funnel burst into flames.
