I connect to the GSC tower all the time. The problem is, so does everyone else. Speeds are pretty good until the masses figure out there is cellular. If NCL has a ship at GSC that's even worse.

ACCRUING POINTS TO GET TO DIAMOND
twangster replied to elizabethbp's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Make sure to avoid studio cabins designed for a single guest. Single points only on those. Avoid the word studio. Depending on how old your daughter is there may be restrictions where the two cabins can be located relative to each other. If your daughter is under 18 then her points don't matter as much. -
Icon of the Seas Blocks Are In The House!

Like the pictures in a fast food restaurant? "Let's use a picture of an actual McD's burger" said no marketing department ever. -

Access points in each cabin means great wifi signal strength in your cabin. There will be no need to but in a shoe in the cabin door to use the internet.

She may yet, just not in 2024. She is too busy helping Royal print money at PDCC. -
You can't use DP340 on studio cabins. They are already adjusted for solo. To answer your question studio cabins receive only one point per night. Also be aware that booking a GTY as a solo on a ship with studio cabins may result in being assigned a studio cabin and in that GTY scenario you only receive one point per night. A solo in a double occupancy cabin nets you an extra point per night when booked as a solo.

News from Orlando this week: Fist fight breaks out at Disney World. Who goes to "The happiest place on earth" and gets into a fist fight? Disney theme parks visits are not cheap. If you are going to see the mouse you got some bank. Goes to show that the company or cruise line isn't the source of the fighting. Humans are the worst. So far Silver Sea has no reports of fights on board. Apparently there is enough Grey Poupon for everyone.

Currently on Liberty, need advice

Management who is responsible for this specific issue doesn't benefit from the DSC. Removing the DSC in retaliation for this issue impacts the most junior members of the crew none of which are management or have any influence on this specialty restaurant issue. It's a billing issue. Not a service issue. -

Allure was a left over ship they had to stick somewhere. The red headed step child no one wanted to talk about. While I personally love Allure the lack of updates is something that hasn't gone unnoticed by the cruise booking masses. To your point, that Allure bookings didn't flop on 3/4 may have opened the door to put Utopia, as a brand new ship, on the same 3/4 albeit for very different reasons. We've all grown accustomed to Miami being the top cruise port in the world. It goes to show that Royal isn't so numb to reality after all. With another port challenging and taking the title (for now) Royal has done what Royal does best. They've placed assets where they can generate the most revenue in the bigger picture, With more Icon class in process Oasis class aren't the mega ships in their own league any more. Oasis will soon be just another class of ships that once we're the largest cruise ships in the world. Just as Majesty once was a mega ship of the seas so goes Utopia before she even sails. Utopia will be the first Oasis class ship that was never the largest cruise ship in the world. Maybe once Icon 2 or 3 is doing 3/4 from Florida it will be time to put Oasis as just a large class of ship at that point into the Pacific. -
Stanley Cup Playoff games on TNT

Another option is a Voom package, a laptop and a subscription to a VPN service that has a gateway in Canada. cbc.ca carries a lot of games right on their website but you need to appear to be in Canada to watch them. -

Most ships have two ESPN International channels. Unfortunately it's very difficult to find international schedules. -

The playoffs are exclusive to TNT in America. Cruise ships are international and not bound by domestic viewing restrictions. It all depends if any of the international sources they have available on board have acquired broadcasting rights. ESPN International and ESPN Caribbean are vastly different than ESPN in the US and they often carry major sporting events like this. ESPN Caribbean Schedule: https://www.tvpassport.com/tv-listings/stations/espn-caribbean/8135/2023-05-23 Indicates NHL Hockey at 8pm on Tuesday. https://www.tvpassport.com/tv-listings/stations/espn-caribbean/8135/2023-05-25 Thursday as well, 8pm. -
Rocket Launch Affects Ships
twangster replied to villager70's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Given the trajectory to the Northeast I'd be surprised if they close the port to vessel traffic. There is usually a corridor closer to land that ships can use. This is where Harmony screwed up last year and entered the exclusion zone when departing. They were supposed to turn South and parallel the shore but instead they maintained a normal departure route and ventured into the exclusion area causing a SpaceX scrub. -

I'll definitely be giving Princess a look. I'd much rather sail Princess over MSC, that's for sure. Royal may always feel like home but exploring Princess a bit more has some appeal to it. However if they go wild with pricing like Royal from Florida then probably not. -
I don't think CAS discounts apply like DP340 or balcony discounts. Whenever I've looked into them as a solo they rarely look appealing.

Perhaps if the Utopia experiment doing the unthinkable and placing an OA class ship on a 3/4 rotation works out they will consider doing the same in Singapore. -

Quantum Ultra are the largest ships in the world that performs tendering. Singaporeans can dream of something bigger all they want but until there is another port to visit that has a pier, I don't see them putting something bigger into Singapore with only one port offered for a 3/4 rotation. If you build it, they will come. -

Eventually China will get an Oasis class ship. Looking way down the road beyond the current deployments. Maybe Wonder, maybe Utopia, or maybe the rumoured OA#7. Maybe a future Icon class is being earmarked for China instead of something OA class. Once that happens will they keep Spectrum there as well or will the future China based mega ship displace Spectrum and send her back to Singapore? -

When Anthem goes to the Pacific the only Quantum class left in the Atlantic will be Odyssey. Or are they planning on bringing Ovation or Quantum in the other direction? I hope Royal offers some of the repos cruises using the Suez Canal as revenue cruises.
