  1. My understanding at least on Apex is that normal rooms have a typical bar refrigerators which they define as a cooler not a refrigerator. In the Suites they have true refrigerators. This was told to me by our Butler when our Refrigerator in a RS started making loud noises. When they checked it they said it was overheating and that if I left the door open it would quiet down. They also offered to replace it with cooler if I wished. I would first start by understanding what temperatures you need to keep you meds at and then contact Special Needs.
  2. While we are not permitted to mention travel agent's by name some targeted Googling will work. A good starting point is to to search for words - Cruise, Fare, Compete or Last Minute Cruise Deals
  3. Due to a recent change you can no longer purchase Basic Wifi. If you don't purchase all inclusive you can now only purchase Premium. The good news is they dropped the price of Premium WiFi.
  4. One thing that I've noticed is that the Internet (especially on the non-revolutionized ships) can vary according to location on the ship and proximity to routers. One room we had on Solstice I could hardly get a signal and had to have a repeater installed. I also noticed that when walking and talking on the phone I would often get dropped when being handed off between routers.
  5. Not sure of which add on's you are referring to. To my knowledge the only items you can book via the App are the Internet Package, Excursions and Specialty Dining. These also can not be booked via the app except once on the ship. I know the internet prices are the advertised price less the CC level discount already applied.
  6. Not been on Edge recently but was on Apex (Sister Ship) and internet using Starlink was acceptable. To set expectations they have capped internet using Starlink on all ships. I was on Solstice when they went live and initially was able to get 200 Meg and on the next cruise they had capped it and the speeds are about 5 Meg down an 2.5 Meg up. I was able to stream YouTubeTv and Netflix without any stuttering or pixilation. For about 6 weeks I posted daily speeds in the Caribbean and Mexico, TransAtlantic and British Isle cruises. There are also some speed tests from others on the Sydney to Vancouver from @Ken the cruiser and some from Panama Canal.
  7. I've not had problems making calls using the Premium Internet. Wondering if your problems is with your settings. Iain had a similar problem and I found that he didn't have WiFi over Internet enabled. Place Wi-Fi calls from your iPhone To turn on Wi-Fi calling, go to Settings > Phone > Wi-Fi Calling > Turn to On. You might need to enter or confirm your address for emergency services. If Wi-Fi Calling is available, you'll see "Wi-Fi" in the status bar while viewing Control Center. Then your calls will use Wi-Fi Calling.
  8. While not an apples to apples cruise line. Ponant just launched a Status Match program.
  9. Thanks for taking the time to post. Looking forward to follow..... I'm already 4 pages behind.
  10. When Celebrity or their contractor cancels an excursions you are refunded to the original form of payment. - eg. OBC to OBC or CC to CC. At 48 hours prior to the cruise the accounts are frozen and once on board if a cancellation takes place it is refunded to you account as either NR OBC or Refundable OBC.
  11. Definitely do it if possible. When we did it, it was a repositioning cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Valparaiso via the Canal and then Valparaiso to Buenos Aires. Incredible trip. If you do let me know I have a great AirBnB place we rented for a week.
  12. My experience has been that the points aren't accrued and applied until the end of the cruise in which you received. Thus you would not be upgraded until the end of the cruise you earned them on. This happened to me when I hit Zenith. Wasn't able to be upgraded until I completed the cruise.
  13. We have done a combination of the Singapore to Dubai and Dubai to Rome. The menus are the same but in the OV they often have regionally inspired offerings.
  14. The Sommeliers have always been part of the Bar Staff and not part of the tipping pool of the Luminae dining room. They also do not have to share their tips with the Dining Room Pool. We always tip separately.
  15. Should be noted that they have both specialty Coffee which included in the Classic package and they have Premium Coffee (ones with Liquor in them (many of these are only only fully covered by the Premium Package). I believe the limit of Classic is still 10.00 and you are charged only the difference if the drink is higher.
  16. You can do it at any specialty restaurant or outside the OVC they have a Specialty Dining Podium setup.
  17. The reason for this is that for every upgrade it triggers a number of upgrade opportunities. e.g. an upgrade to a s Sunset Sky Suite will open two Sky Suites and those will probably open up and Aqua or a Concierge.
  18. I noticed they also didn't have Canada. I just chose United Kingdom with my U.S. address. The next day (yesterday), I received an e-mail asking me to send proof of Status which I did.
  19. First off unless things change we have always sailed on Celebrity out of City Cruise Terminal. The National Express Bus service is very convenient and close to the Cruise Terminal. The National Rail is also convenient and is about 2 miles from the City Cruise Terminal. To avoid the early morning rush we have stayed at the Ibis Hotel which is about 1/3 of a mile from the terminal. While we to an Uber I noticed lots of people walking with their roller suitcase from both the hotel as well as the National Express Bus Stop. Not a great hotel but very convenient and clean. Like most other ports the Check In usually begins around 11:00 for Suites and Zenith and the appointment time for others. The port has a major clog area at the entrance where all passengers go through Security before entering the big Warehouse size terminal where there are lanes set up for checkin
  20. 21. In most of our Asian, South American, Australian and New Zealand Ports all food was prohibited off the ship and they often had bag inspections and in some ports X-Ray machines for backpacks and dogs. In Australia and New Zealand there are sign and the fines for Violation are quite high. Not sure about your particular tour but on every private tour I've had they may not include a lunch but most have numerous free time at stops for 30 minutes or more where we were able to get a bite of lunch. They also often tell you where to get a light snack or drink.
  22. @chengkp75 thanks for the very informative post. Great explanation.
  23. I recently dined 4x at Eden on Apex. They do have set's play above in the Eden Bar. On all occasions the sound was at a pleasant level -- They had a guitarist "Charlie) for one set and an acoustical violinist. Around 10:00 PM they had a show that was a bit louder but still not overpowering. I can tell you it is very enjoyable compared to when they first introduced Eden and had that terrible show that as so loud you couldn't carry on a conversation.
  24. I then suspect that the ships themselves disregard their own regulations.
  25. As a point of clarity. I have often seen the power strips in use in most of the upper suites. To my knowledge they are not surge protected which is the prohibition. I've also requested a power strip and the IT guy came to my room and gave it to me and plugged it in along with an extension cord. While the ships may prohibit us from bring one with us they do have a limited supply of both.
