  1. I always book my own hotels direct. I have been looking for the hotels that Celebrity offered but only finding City Stay available under excursions and only for my European reservations. My understanding this is a different product and includes transport and excursions. Prices are based on a per person rate in lieu of per night and EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE In looking at Barcelona the prices start at about $1,000 pp per night. I do recall reading here on CC that people have booked hotels from Celebrity at a nice rate but like you can not get the website to even search for them.
  2. Depending on usage, the free minutes may work for you. Way back in time I use to only use the free minutes. If just using to send and receive e-mail you need to be frugal and plan you usage. By plan I mean - Log on and download your e-mail then immediately log off. Go through your e-mail offline and answer those you wish or create new outgoing email and save. Log back on and press - Send/Receive. As soon as completed log off. Only warning is make sure you log off each time or.....BAM all your minutes will be gone. As others have suggested - try out your fee minutes and if you have burnt through them too fast then you can sign up for one account upgrade (which will be discounted around mid-cruise.
  3. While I'm not positive, I believe the will be be going direct to Portofino. My belief is based on the fact that it is listed as a tender port. When I stopped in Genoa with Celebrity he ship docked and didn't tender. MSC may have stopped in Genoa because they have a terminal there. The second reason I believe it to be Portofino is that even on you posted itinerary both Florence/Pisa and Rome have the actual port in parentheses. That has been the protocol on Celebrity when not docking at the major city listed.
  4. You may wish to do a quick search - I found a good thread that may be of help.
  5. Would recommend calling Celebrity and asking. Celebrity has sold a product in the past for pre- or post cruise and were called City Stay - https://www.celebritycruises.com/gb/cruise-packages/vacation-packages/city-stays These include ground transportation, room and excursions. They also sell (better described as book hotels) which are like booking on any other travel agency and only covers the hotel.
  6. That can often happen before they load the menus for your cruise. Suggest you check the same ship but the current sailing.
  7. None - with the exception of Club Soda all sparkling waters are only on Premium. It is one of those items you don't pay the difference in price and are charged the full amount for a bottle. On premium they usually have San Pelligrino and Perrier (sometime they substitute another kind).
  8. I do it all the time. If a desired room in the same sub-classification becomes available I just call my agent and he swaps out the room. If a room comes available in a higher classification than you purchased by at least $1. You can "Upgrade" for the difference in prices.
  9. This link shows everything non-alcaholic at the bottom of the page. To determine if it makes sense to purchase would recommend going to the App and look up a couple bar Menu's and calculate what you might like and see if it makes sense. Non-Premium Coffee's - Yes Smoothie - No
  10. I use it often - Both the Mobile as well as the Web Version. I find the easiest method is to search on a site like Cruise Mapper to find ships current location by Long. and Lat. I then put that into the search bar- 58.12068, 8.53304 (you then have to click on the coordinate that it pops up You can then select "Waves" and then click on a spot on the map to bring up the marker - You can then move the map around to see the measurement at each location
  11. I was recently checking on the Travel Insurance coverage using Chase Sapphire Reserve Card. They recently dropped their coverage to $5,000 PP per incident or $10,000 maximum if more than one passenger booked at the same time. They also limit maximum coverage in one year to a total of $10,000. The coverage does not cover for per-existing Conditions or being arrested (hmm). It also is not cover cancellation for any reason and has to be related to a covered event that prevents you from traveling.
  12. I can confirm that the bidding amounts are different according to the classification of your current booking. In April I was managing bookings for our room as well as my SIL/BIL. We were in a CS and they were in a Aqua. The bid amounts from an AQ were substantially higher.
  13. I believe it depends on the Excursion. We took a tour and were ferried to Oia where we met out bus. After visiting Santorini we had the option of eitehr returning to Oia and shuttle back to the ship or walk down the hill or taking Cable Car and meet a shuttle near the foot of the cable car. If I recall the shuttles were at Port of Fira. We visited pre-covid so not sure if things have changed.
  14. I've always received a cabin in the Guaranteed Category but on one occasion it was not assigned until I was at the Port. While cabins may not be showing in inventory they usually have some either on reserve or are feed up as a result of move-up bids.
  15. The Dinner packages do not cover Le Voyage, Chef's Table or Magic Carpet. One consideration about the Magic Carpet Dinner is that it is often moved or cancelled do to winds. On our last B3B on Apex they moved it all 3 times. It was moved to the Aqua Spa Cafe and I definitely would have cancelled if booked. Definitely not the experience one had booked and the smell of chlorine was off putting.
  16. I've pulled up a chair and looking forward to your adventure. Was surprised to read about the baggage service. We arrived Rotterdam x2 and departed from Amsterdam. In Amsterdam they had a long line for people without tags but if you had you luggage you just put it on a conveyor belt like at the airport and it went into the backroom. There were some porters curbside but very few.
  17. I purchased a similar package for slots and never again. I got a slip from the casino and once I put it into a slot machine would not let me cash out and move to a different machine. The slot ship was like the Casino Promotional Slots and you could only cash out the winnings. I'll never purchase again.
  18. Signed into law by President Grover Cleveland, the PVSA requires vessels carrying passengers between two U.S. ports to be U.S. registered and built, and mostly owned and crewed by Americans. It is much like the 1920 Jones Act, except that it applies to passengers instead of merchandise. The act was implemented to protect U.S. jobs and can only be modified or eliminated by congressional action.
  19. So if I understand correctly we could potentially re-board the ship after zeroing out the ship but would not be permitted to go back ashore? That also wold work for us. We will be flying back to Sydney in March for the April TransPacific and will be spending a week with our friend's - You are correct, the last time we sailed together was back in 2018. Definitely a memorable cruise being evacuated from the ship on turn around day due to a typhoon and then dodging 2 more on the next cruise. I have to say the Japan Immersion Cruse was one of our favorites.
  20. That has always been my practice. If you turn it on before connecting to the ship your device thinks it is in a different location and doesn't see Celebrity's Intranet.
  21. I have departed early in the past and it requires the payment of a processing fee and advance approval. I have never done it on this itinerary. I do know they suspended downline disembarkation in 2021 and not sure if re-implemented. When I did it I had to contact emergencyteam@celebritycruises.com They responded - Thank you for your mail.... Below are the new procedures pertaining downline ... Re: Pre-Downline Request Good Day, Please be advised that we have received your request to embark/debark at an alternate port. After reviewing said request we are happy to advise that currently there are no regulatory restrictions that will prohibit an approval. There is a $65 USD or CAD equivalent per booking handling to finalize your approval and arrangement. Please contact us at your earliest convenience and provide us with a valid credit card payment. We can be reached 7 days a week, 24 hours a day at: Domestic: 1-800-256-6649 (prompt #1) or International: 305-539-4107. Thank you Warm Regards, Emergency Travel Team
  22. Thanks - We will be traveling with friends from Australia and they have both a home in Sydney and a ranch. Their home in Sydney is within walking distance of the Cruise Terminal so will probably just get off the ship with them and spend time at their place until we are allowed to re-board. We spend lots of time in Australia and really familiar with the Sydney area. Look forward to seeing you again after so many years. Jim
  23. When I was aboard it was working. Saw a number of people use it.
  24. Possibly because LLP was replaced with LHB on May 1. I have to agree with you that being proactive and do another "Big News Coming" then put a Marketing blurb out --- To improve your enjoyment -- we are eliminating dedicated butlers in SS.
