  1. I've had it confirmed by the HR Directory (2 different ships) that if you write the Employee's name and Employee number the tip is directed to the individual. If you just fill in the category (e.g. Room Attendant or Dining Room) it goes to the pool of the position. Both director indicated they were certain because they were the one that applied it. The staff member is notified by Guest Relations when a tip is left to either the individual or the staff member. I have had them thank me for the gratuity without prompting.
  2. You get the amenities that come with a room - e.g. 2 bottles of Spirits of your choice, free specialty dining etc. You do not get the perks of the room e.g. extra points or drinks package, free internet etc unless you already had them.
  3. Thanks for the update. I read on the "internet" that Celebrity received a huge swarm of complaints and tried to back peddle by releasing a statement -
  4. Thanks -- hope we can push them a bit we sail on 9/11 with Ponant. We are Zenith on Celebrity so should get Grand Admiral.
  5. Thanks so much - I have sent a reply back to our rejection and hope they will apply it quickly. Our first cruise with Ponant is on September 11.
  6. We had a problem with Sewer Smell on Apes in a RS. I complained over 4 days and they would send someone up but no resolution. The Retreat Concierge asked to speak with us and offered us a nice OBC. We of course accepted. It was really weird as it just suddenly came up as a problem. I applied the OBC to our November Cruise before final payment. On a whim --- I decided to try something - I filled the waste basket full of water and dumped it down the floor drain - heard a couple gurgles and lo and behold the problem disappeared. I suspect that possibly the j-trap in the drain didn't have enough water to block the sewage smell. The other assumption is that it just fixed itself.
  7. Thanks - Do you happen to have the URL to the website that list's Celebrity. I can't seem to find it. I have however replied to their rejection and will see what happens.
  8. Glad you enjoyed. Iain always gets the Mulligatawny Soup and really enjoys.
  9. These were the Prices October 2021. I'm sure they have increased but will give you an idea.
  10. A recent blogger posted prices on this link https://paulandcarolelovetotravel.com/celebrity-cruises-spa-prices/
  11. I heard from a good friend last night that is a big gambler. "BlueChip exec/rep actually sent us a personal email and text last week telling us the Vaping trial was over and they are not going forward with the vaping in casinos. "
  12. Wondering if the $2.00 cookies are specialty cookies. In the description it says - Warm Hand Crafted.
  13. You can arrive anytime from when Check In opens - usually around 11:00. Latest is usually 1 hour prior to departure.
  14. My experience has been they have shows at 7PM and 9PM on Equinox the same as other ships. I've not noticed that the time shift by cruise location. You can check out the Celebrity App for a current sailing on Equinox and find under Activities.
  15. From reading your post, I suspect it will work but it appears you may have a work VPN as oppose to a commercial product. I use NordVPN and when I tried to search for "NORDVPN" or tried to go to nordvpn.com without VPN enabled I get a blank page or 401 erro. I then turned on NordVpn and had no problem accessing their website to make a change to my account. Not sure that tethering would work. My experience (iPhone) is that you can only teather to the Phone Connection. If you turn off telephone and are using WiFi only the option is not available. You can test this yourself from home by putting your phone in airplane mode and attempt to teather. Another option might be to bring a travel router with OpenVPN option. You set it prior to the cruise and drop in a little file from your VPN provider to enable OpenVPN. That way you could get through Celebrity's Firewall and then use your company VPN (double vpn) This may slow down your connection.
  16. I've also noticed in the past week that I can't stayed signed in. Even when check the box "Stay Signed In" it makes me sign in every time I access the Celebrity Website.
  17. I usually use Firefox but to check out I used Chrome to see if any difference - I've also tried Edge and all of them allow me to sort by Date Duration Ship Low to High High to Low
  18. I have almost always booked on-board for cruises as much as 2 1/2 year in the future. Especially after Celebrity just cancelled our November 2024 TransAtlantic leaving us with the first 1/2 of a B2B not cancelled - will not be booking any future cruises while aboard. I may purchase some of the Future Booking Certificates. I have to agree with @Redking and started looking at other cruise lines after 23 years of only sailing Celebrity.
  19. Very doable. As a Retreat Guest you are the first off the ship when disembarkation begins and you can leave at anytime right after they complete walkoffs. Suite Luggage is all roped off an available immediately. Also Immigration is usually done via electronic clearance. You just walk up to a camera and get a green check mark and walk through. Most of the time, even when taking our time we are at FLL no later than 10:00 and have plenty of time.
  20. That is a common problem with phones (incorrect orientation) an CC software. A quick fix is going in to edit the photo and click the rotation button 4 times and then when you post it will post correct.
  21. It is Live Nova Scotia Lobster. The MD indicated that everything at Eden is Fresh and that if supply chain issue arise they do not substitute.
  22. The guest selects a Check-In time when On-Line check-in opens at 45 days prior to the cruise. Actually in the App you can go directly to the Check-In time when they first open and select your time and come back later to complete you on-line checkin. Remember you need to select for each guest individually.
  23. Thanks for doing a live post. Will be following along. We were on Apex for about 5 weeks and April/May and really enjoyed the trip. Like your cruise the ship was close to capacity and was far different than at 40-50% passenger load. One recommendation/warning is the evening shows. If you really want to see something you need to arrive 15-20 minutes early as by showtime it was totally filled and turning away guests. I would really recommend Eden if you can book it. Their Nova Scotia Live Lobster is incredible and nothing like the cold water lobster that is commonly served.
  24. For Bonair, I would really recommend you make a booking with Bonaire Cruisers for the rental of a Golf Cart. They only rent 2 passenger carts but is very reasonable and you can do the day on your own. The South Ring is the identical route that the tour busses from the ship takes. From their site you can download and look at the North Loop and the South Loop. We did the Southern route and did lots of stopping along the way to see the wild donkeys, flamingos and other island life. In Curaçao we booked with Tours by Locals and had a nice tour of the island.
  25. Really enjoyed following along on your wonderful vacation.
