  1. Thanks - Hope you are both ok and have only memories of your Covid experience. Hopefully neither of us need to experience that again.
  2. I've been on Eclipse recently and really enjoyed her. We aren't big on sunbathing and rarely use the Retreat Sundeck. Enjoy Australia and New Zealand. We will be doing that cruise in about a year from now.
  3. Thanks for being the first post. Really looking forward to the cruise. I know you will think we are wimps as you are from Illinois but is 43 this morning and only 60 for a high today and are looking forward to nice warm temperatures.
  4. First up will be our Itinerary - Both cruises are identical so will only post the December 3 one. So far this season Solstice has had a 7 day cruise with Cabo San Lucas and Ensanada. I chose this one as it is 8 days and skips Ensanada and does and overnight in Cabos and does Mazatland and Puerto Vallarta.
  5. It's that time again to enjoy life and relaxation at sea. We set sail on Saturday out of San Pedro (LAX). As usual all are welcome and feel free to chime in and add your comments. If your on the cruise feel free to help out and post your observations and photos. I was surprised to discover when I looked back at our cruise history that we have never sailed SOLSTICE before. How did that happen? As many of you know Solstice was built in 2008 and is 14 years old. She is a S-Class ship and has not been revolutionized. Her passenger load is 2,850-3,420 but by my count shows she will be sailing at about 1,600. She also has a maximum crew of 1,000. Stock Photo with her Blue's on.
  6. I've not found a ship so far it hasn't worked on. It was taught to me when I asked the butler to have IT department to turn off hotel mode. He told me they no long have that and showed me how and actually took TV off wall as in the suite there was no room to get your hand in.
  7. Did you try the sequence in the Video on the Ships Remote. Personally I have found that the old way of using a Universal Remote no longer work on the way they now have the TV's setup.
  8. Definitely will be delivered by you butler unless possibly if a 2AM order. It's part of the Butler's job and I tip additional at the end of the cruise depending on how much and how well he takes care of us.
  9. If I had a choice I would definitely take deck 6. I have to say the Butler and Room attendant were great. I was ok with the sound but it was difficult to take pictures with the overhang.
  10. I've stayed in that cabin before - not bad You do have a big overhang above from the pool deck and you will occasionally hear chair scraping. You will also hear very loudly when they have music playing at the pool. Luckily it only lasts for 50 minute at a time. It's the same size as S1s with the exception of the S Handicaps which are larger.
  11. Curious about the double points. Were they for specific sailings or bookings? I'm on a B2B on Equinox to Mexico next week and somehow didn't notice anything about it.
  12. I've seen the minimum and Max both drop. Not normal but when I checked my bid had become over the max so I went back in and dropped it. In the past 6 cruises none of the cabins I was able to bid on changed after being released.
  13. I'm sure you will hear many opinion. I am basing my response on what the Murano Maitre'd told me. We were in a RS and had free specialty. I asked for a receipt so I could leave a tip. He told me if I left a tip in cash it goes to the Murano Dining Room Pool, If I left it on a room charge it went to the General Restaurant Pool for all workers. He assured us our tip was already included in our Free Dining. The next time we ate there we remembered to bring cash.
  14. Yes. Each cruise is a separate cruise. I have also had cabin attendents moved to a different area or gone home between cruises.
  15. Remember you also get a CC Discount. 10% classic 15% Elite 20% Elite Plus and Zenith
  16. There is a messaging feature in the app. Sometimes it makes a ping when you receive a message other times no. You do not need an account for this. I you do have a classic or premium internet you can just use regular messaging
  17. I would expect they will have a costumed Santa. We were on this year Silhouette on Easter and the Easter Bunny made an appearance all over the ship.
  18. The sliding scale is an amount between 0 (no Bid) and then jumps to minimum bid and then goes up to the Maximum. Just grab the bar and slide slightly to the right to see the minimum bid
  19. Yes on both the App and in the Daily but app only updated about 2 weeks prior to sailing. Prior to that may just be a place holder.
  20. Do you happen to know if this is true for Solstice (UN-revolutionized) Deckplans on both Cruise Deck Plans and Celebrity don't show it.
  21. See attached pdf. Be aware that due to supply chain issues many are not available. MDR_Wine_List.pdf
  22. They don't have the physical facilities for it but prior to the shut down and prior to the electronic clearance they had a sign on the lane next to the wall. When you went up the agent just had you flash your passport and then he waved you through. They didn't even ask for the Mobil Passport app screen.
  23. From the app all you need to do is go to main screen. Click the Daily Planner - Just below the picture of the ship - Click Filter and change from Recommended to Show All - You can also just choose Activities, Entertainment, Shops , Excursions, Spa and Fitness. At the bottom you can choose each day. They are usually updated and reliable at 2 -3 weeks prior to the cruise.
  24. I was on a B3B in the last year, don't recall the ship. One of the remotes had a Input button on it while the other's didn't. For those rooms I had to use the sequence in my video above.
