  1. None of the shops and the casino on Celebrity are concessions and are not owned by Celebrity and pay Celebrity both rental fees as well as commission on sales / revenue. While I don't know the actual percentages having a fairly good size retail space not generating any sales revenue is a lost opportunity. There are many ways to convert their OBC to cash and thus if not spent on the ship they have lost the revenue opportunity. Just my philosophy.
  2. Never seen them at a Celebrity Store. Noise is subjective and after using noise cancelling IPods Pro's I would say probably. They do not eliminate noise. When wearing mine out walking and a train passes I use to have to pause the audio book I was listening to. With the new Second generation I no long have to pause and probably knocks out 80% of the train roar. I also have a set of Bose Sleep Buds that don't use noise cancellation but use a noise masking library of sounds. The work fantastic for me with a snoring partner. I'm sure they would work for engine noise and noise from the bar.
  3. For sailings in the U.S. the current practice is no B2B testing, but there have been reports of B2B testing being required (last minute) when the reported cases aboard go over a certain level.
  4. The OV has reverted back to self service but some of the stations like you mentioned above, stir fry, chicken beef and fish to order, a eggs cooked or order are still being staffed.
  5. They look incredible to me. The only thing I do is after upload I manually enter a line space after each photo. I do this by clicking a spot just after a photo or before a photo and enter a return which enters a blank line. By default CC bunches them all together.
  6. As JWLane indicated the OVC is open as well as 6:30 - 8:30 and Blue and Luminae are open between 6:30- 8:00. If traveling in Suite they have a small buffet in retreat that remains open late. At the B2B processing area they usually have coffee and pastry available. In addition al Bacio is open and will remains open even between the b2b processing and general boarding.
  7. I've not seen any inventory of apple product on any of the ships I've been on. Sure seems like a revenue miss for Celebrity with people having so much OBC
  8. I use noise cancelling earbuds and absolutely love them. The new AirPod Pro Second Generation that was just release is the best I have ever experienced. Currently $239 on Amazon but were discounted last week. This thread may be taken down as it doesn't specifically relate to Celebrity.
  9. While a butler will deliver a drink. I don't believe it is covered under the drink package and you might be charged regular rate for it. On the other hand the butlers do have a degree of discretion and may well do it for you if he is able to.
  10. Smoking is a very hot topics that has been debated ever since CC began. While I have read many that complain about smoke wafting up from deck 4. I could see how this might be possible while in port (but often while in port smoking isn't permitted because they are re-fueling the ship). I just don't see how it would be possible when the ship is sailing that smoke could move upward as oppose to just being blown aft. As for noise - I've never been in a room over the smoking area so can't speak to what they may hear but having a partner that smokes and on many instances been out on deck while he smoked - I have never heard loud noise or even hear conversation 5 feet away from where I stand near the rail. If you or others think it would bother them then really recommend getting a room on the other side of the ship or Forward.
  11. If you count the same way that was was required for 2 day testing - You don't count the sail date then count back 3 days. Thus for a Monday Cruise you would have to be tested on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Not sure in any counting scenario how one could get to Thursday with a 3 day testing requirement.
  12. I've been on 8 cruises since resumption of cruising. Never had my temperate taken. Health check was you were suppose to answer the questions in the app but one every cruise they asked me the same questions at checkin. They were the normal - Have you had any flu or cold symptoms withing the past 5 days, Are you pregnant etc. etc. Interesting that on my December Solstice Cruise - Check in started yesterday. The Health Check was open to be filled out and only had 3 questions. 1. Have you been Vaccinated 2. Have you had a Covid Vaccination 3. Are you Pregnant Our cruise is only 8 days long and from a U.S. Port so no testing or vaccination required. There was no requirement to upload Vaccination Record or Tests.
  13. Usually they start with day one menu regardless of ship or duration. Having said that there is a discussion currently about Solstice changing "Prime Rib" on Day One for a New York Beef Steak. Prime Rib now appears on last day. Very unusual as all the other ships still have Prime Rib on Day 1. BTW Prime Rib is one of many cruisers favorites.
  14. It is amazing to see the detailed tile work and realize how old it is and to even imagine that it was all covered over and built over.
  15. When on Summit they said there was no longer a quarantine for new crew. They board in the morning and are put to work immediately. It is often with a lot of new crew it take them a little awhile to be trained and get the feel of a new ship. Will be interesting to hear if things smooth out after the first couple days. Regardless of how well a ship is trained and staff I've always found the first night dinner to be chaotic. This includes MDR, Blu and Luminae.
  16. The Port Everglades official site - It usually by default only shows 30 days but you can do a Custom Query and go much further out in time and limit to just one ship.
  17. I think it depends on the cruise and the weather. I have seen it open for lunch on Sea Days with a special priced menu. Even though the app may say the are open I've tried for lunch when the app showed open for lunch but wasn't open. The person just said ...yea we know but you can come back for dinner.
  18. I'm a fairly seasoned cruiser and have to admit we have been in some pretty rough seas that the only safe place was staying seated - weather in your cabin or out. When the seas are so high that you have to hold onto the handrail to get down the hallway it is just safer to find a nice comfortable place until the seas calm down.
  19. First time I've seen that also. I just checked the current Solstice sailing and they also had the New York Beef Stake. I then checked Summit and Millennium and they had Prime Rib on day one. hmmm. The question of course is what is a New York Beef Steak ? When I googled on it the results seem to show a NY Strip steak. When we were on Summit B2B2B August-Sept they had Prime on each day one menu.
  20. Terminal does indeed have a separate entrance for Suites. It is on the left and a big banner flag adjacent to the door.
  21. My experience (not San Pedro but may other embarkation points). There is a first checkpoint at the door who ask for your express pass and allow you in if it is your time slot. If not they have lanes setup OUTSIDE similar to Soutwest. If early they ask you to get into your time slot late. On the other hand I have seen when there was a lull an they allow some from the next time slot late to enter early.
  22. Agree. I've only tested with eMed which showed Greenwich and OnPoint which showed the time zone I was in.
  23. BTW most things including Gratuities are the same price fleet wide.
  24. Hmm.. interesting didn't realize the onboard discount. Thanks for posting. What I don't understand is why the Photo book is less expensive to the package without the book. You still can download from both packages.
