  1. Voyager class is to wide for Panama because of the overhangs not the water line. Yep ,old ships are like old cars, just to much maintenance ,to much fuel. And China is starting to build cruise ships for next to nothing but then you get what you pay for.
  2. 13 years Graham, they get less punishment for a capital crime. A little bit more of your wisdom if I may. Can a person in the same cabin (Same booking) board at a different time ? Or do we have to all go together?
  3. I believe they need a ship just smaller enough to get through the Panama that can get to Alaska ,do the World cruises and maybe smaller ports like Tampa,New Orleans,Washington DC . Vision,Radiance and even voyager class are getting to 20 years or more and will become not viable. It won’t be long before they start to go.
  4. Discovery class ,very interesting. I quizzed the boffins on the blog about a smaller ship ,they seem to think I had a mental issue. As they calculate, big ships cost less to operate per passenger and Royal being a mass market brand will never build smaller ships. Leave that to Celebrity .
  5. I haven’t be outside LAX for a while but I have heard its the worst in the world. Looks like American and delta service Long Beach. None stop to Pheonix and Salt lake for $150 . Then on to where ever.
  6. I’m pretty sure you can’t take anything mains voltage, just low voltage. There usually a table on debarkation of all the electrical things confiscated . There’s a hair dryer in the cabin
  7. Well that right mic not everyone would be wanting to go into Brisbane, some might be flying out and some might want to do a tour of the sewage plant before going home.
  8. I might even fly into or out of long beach to where ever ,when I get over there.
  9. How did you get to San Pedro? Car hire for a couple of days and drop it in San Pedro ,looks like the best option . Taxi ,Uber or shuttle looks about $80US to the airport . It looks like Anthem finishes in South Hampton early October 2024 and nobody knows where it’s going.
  10. Not everyone would use it but on disembark day it would be a bottleneck. They would have put more ferries in service and then what happens when there’s not ship? It would be the the same with a bus service, what about the buses when there no ship? The ferries or buses would be running empty. Captain cook and the white bay ferry isn’t going to start up again because it isn’t viable and that was a 15 minute ride.
  11. It would be but do they have the capacity? They seem to have put the horse before the cart ‘They might buy a couple of the old Manly ferries.
  12. If you compared it to say white bay and when captain cook did a transfer. It was only a short ride but from what I understand Brisbane terminal is in the middle of nowhere. A shuttle bus to the airport and train would be more efficient.
  13. I’m not totally familiar with the new cruise terminal but would they have enough ferries to move 3,000 passengers on disembark? And what about their regular service and obligations?
  14. Just turn up at the dock after 12:00 you should be right. As for dining when you get on ,just book it on the app ,you should be right otherwise just turn up to the dining room.
  15. Unfortunately Australians don’t usually tip ,so we don’t carry cash.
  16. 40 million euros, the paint would cost more than that. https://crew-center.com/disney-cruise-line-acquires-unfinished-global-dream-40-million-euros
  17. I would say so. but don’t you think it would be like going to Hawaii to eat New England Apple pie and moonshine.
  18. When they said wine and cheese ,I thought New Caledonia is tropical. I don’t think there’s wineries or cheese made in the tropics.
  19. The ship shore excursions seem to be a issue. They are either canceled or very expensive or low quality. Someone I was talking about a shore excursion they did in Noumea,it was French wine and cheese experience. For $190 U.S they got a bit of a tour of Noumea ,one glass of wine and 2 pieces of cheese smaller than a credit card.
