Biker was asking if you tried using the bar code trick to find out your actual cabin. It sounds like you didn't. This is a way to find out the cabin you will likely be assigned before it is officially assigned and appears on your set sail pass. If I'm wrong, apologies, but I'll paste the instructions below... Bar Code Trick Method 1. If you have an Apple device, add your set sail pass to your Apple wallet. Numbers will now appear under your bar code. The numbers after the dash represent your cabin. Method 2. Scan the bar code with a QR scanner from another device and that should also show you the numbers. NOTE: If you see "GTY" instead of numbers, you truly haven't been assigned yet. One tip off is that if you don't see a muster station on your set sail pass then you almost definitely don't have an assignment yet.

My wife does that. She tried making an ice cream sandwich on CocoCay but it melts way too fast in the summer, lol.

Note: The availability of flavored water varies greatly from ship to ship (and even day to day on the same ship at times). Everything else is pretty much always there on every cruise I’ve ever been on.

There’s no downside if you think it’s worth bidding more, people could cancel, but only bid what you think it’s worth. The chances of winning are very low on most sailings anyway.

That’s funny, one of the few things I don’t really like. Like you, probably wouldn’t hate it but haven’t even tried it in forever. Nope, lol, probably not. Hey, you like what you like. That was a good thing about Wonder, mango & strawberry kiwi were there everyday. Wife lives on the strawberry kiwi water if they have it. I go back & forth between the two. We’ve seen flavors appear/disappear before like you described. If there’s no strawberry kiwi water she mostly drinks plain water so we usually keep a few cups of strawberry in the cooler. She’s brought a big water bottle before to keep filled with it too. At home it’s nothing but bottled water. I had a feeling you’d say no ice cream. Another cutback people have complained about. Not a huge deal but something she’d eat occasionally if she didn’t find dessert. She eats plenty of the pool deck cones though. Have a safe trip home & thanks for all the info! Will be interesting to see what I find on Allure in 3.5 weeks. Last time she switched homeports, El Loco Fresh food magically appeared in Wipeout Cafe so who knows? 😁

Thanks for the palate cleanser. Seems like there’s some varied, unique stuff in WJ at least. The common complaint has seemed to be “not as many options” and I didn’t get there much on Wonder in June (or at all for dinner). No idea what my wife will eat but I’ve done all I can. I’ll start thinking of myself now… apple crumble with vanilla sauce sounds good. I lied, one last wife question… was there real ice cream in WJ (usually being scooped by a crew member)?

One more thing to try if you can’t get paper copies. Once onboard & connected to the ship wifi, use this link… https://minio.rccl.com/compass/cruisecompass.pdf That should give you the daily Cruise Compass in PDF form and you can save them.

It's called the Cruise Compass on Royal but if you want paper copies you have to request them from your stateroom attendant. Since the info is all in the app now, you don't get them by default on most ships anymore. There is also a chance you will be told they don't have the paper copies and to use the app. You also may or may not be able to get them from guest services.

That’s good to hear for the waiter at least. The supervisor is in the same no-win position but at least it’s part of his job to deal with stuff like that. I don’t like that that guy benefitted from his behavior but there will always be people like that… whom this cynical introvert would watch from his 2-top, lol.

It puts the waiter in a no-win situation, really. I guess his only out besides caving to avoid the fight would be to get a manager involved but I don’t know enough about the dynamic there to know what management would prefer. Hope you have a good night!

Good to hear. I didn't think ELF was amazing on Wonder but since my wife doesn't eat Mexican, I can always go grab a taco for a snack... oh wait, she does eat plain tortilla chips. Good to hear the lobster improved. No lobster on our 5-nighter but that's fine. There's something else on the lobster night menu my wife will actually eat for our Wonder cruises... so I guess she's supposed to order lobster and give it to me, then eat the entree she actually wants. Disagreement is OK as long as it's handled civilly. Gun talk... ummm... yeah, I'd have excused myself too. Same deal, just not something I know anything about so I'd be sitting there with a blank look on my face. Of course, in reality, I'm too introverted to sit with strangers so if I sailed solo I'd probably be at a 2-top posting pics in between courses here on CC, lol.

Have you noticed how crowded Wipe Out Cafe has been? The full version of El Loco Fresh wasn't bad at all on Wonder, especially if you went for a mid-afternoon snack. Just wondering how bad it is on Allure since it's a different layout and they kinda quickly shoved El Loco Fresh food in there when she moved from FL to TX.
