  1. What ship? We were on the Odyssey TA in April 2022. The only time we went up to do it was in port when it was free…they had a sign in sheet and a scale and said the limit was 300 lbs. when did you go?
  2. most of the clothes we bring on cruises I wouldn’t put in their “free” laundry. Yes, it is a good perk, but only for things like underwear, socks, pjs, maybe a pair of shorts or two and T shirts you don’t mind possibly coming back gray. One time I had a bra come back and the metal clasps were almost melted together. I’m not kidding.. Ive learned to bring things that are hand washable and I wash in the sink….of course this is only for long cruises such as TAs
  3. I can’t say if Royal has anything to do with restrictions or not. But if you can get off the ship and do the same type of excursion without that restriction, then it would appear that possibly they do. I do know that on Odyssey last year they had a scale at the entrance to the North Star that everyone had to get on before they were allowed access as they had a weight limit.
  4. I don’t know what you see in RI….. but here in FL most of the commercials on regular TV are lawyers, possibly why out auto insurance is insane.
  5. I agree totally, but unfortunately this issue is not limited to Royal. and to add, when I can’t understand a single word the rep is saying and need to ask over and over to please repeat what they’re saying, I lose my trust in anything that I finally can understand
  6. Fault and Blame….two words I would love to see eliminated from our vocabulary.
  7. I love limes in my drinks, soda, water, etc. I don’t usually drink foo foo drinks, but a few years ago I stumbled on to the Lavender Daiquiri on Royal. Which at the time was made with a slice of lime. It was delicious and became my ritual of that being my first when I boarded and the last drink on the night before departing. Then limes were no longer in the drink, with the pandemic as the excuse. That was back after the restart in 2021. The menu in Schooner still showed lime as an ingredient……. not they seem to put a cherry in the, and although I still like the drink and order them all the time but the cherry changed it. You can’t replace lime with a cherry. I don’t understand their problem with getting limes, they’re a huge company 🤷🏼‍♀️ edit to add…..the new menus for that drink don’t show lime anymore. So I guess that seals it……no limes
  8. I agree, of course they didn’t not order limes to anger their guests, that would be ridiculous. The lime thing has been an ongoing thing for quite a long time though. Not having Diet Coke makes no sense either, not that it ruins the trip, just annoying and not expected. There’s plenty of soda everywhere. Pandemic can’t be the reason. The same thing happened to us on a 14 day cruise on Voyager. A few simple things - including limes - that aren’t overall a big deal are still noticed and not expected.
  9. Don’t be so hard on the OP.. the things that they mentioned are things that they should not be out of on day 2 of a 14 night cruise. It doesn’t make or break the trip, but for things that are used every day and you don’t have them after the first couple of days is annoying.
  10. So that sounds something like what is offered in the D lounge with the addition of the drinks that aren’t on Royal?
  11. I too would be satisfied…..we have never received this compensation for a missed port, not that I expected any….the only time we received a credit for a day was on Wonder this past January when the ship was delayed returning and we ended up with a 6 day instead of 7 day cruise… and also note that those onboard were not charged for that extra day.
  12. When the Pacific Princess - aka The Love Boat, spent its last year as a Princess ship doing NY to Bermuda cruises, we just had to go on it. It was so hard to get around just like what you said for Empress. On day 1, I saw from an upper deck a sun deck below that I liked and it took me the whole week to figure out how to get to it! I’m not kidding! It was so confusing and it was a small ship! Only 680 passengers on that cruise. So glad we did it, it was our all time favorite cruise, the cruise director was so good. I don’t know who she was but she was hilarious. And the food was absolutely delicious!!
  13. I agree.. although earlier this year we were on Wonder that came in a day late because they had to drop off a sick person, which shortened our cruise by a day. And since it wasn’t supposed to be there that day, all the cars from that cruise hadn’t left yet and we and other cruisers on the Independence all were trying to park, but couldn’t because the lot was full. It was a nightmare, people were lined up all the way to the highway, which is where our friends got stuck…..for a long time. I know things like that don’t happen often, but…….. I agree with your time, we usually are out of the car by 10
  14. If you get there too early sometimes there aren’t Ny open spaces, and at times we weren’t allowed in to even try to park.
  15. I love your positivity….. one day I hope we are on a cruise and have a drink together.
  16. I was confused as to who was the OP too…. It didn’t matter to me if there’s 2 with the same issue as my reply would be the same for both
  17. We’ve also noticed this happening in the MDR. We think they “forgot” to charge our card but it got charged much later after the DR closed. They messed up our drinks to often, so we bring a drink with us when we go in now
  18. Sovereign was the first cruise ship we ever were on many many years ago. So I have a special place in my heart for it ❤️
  19. I totally understand how you feel. Most here on this site have had the same experience at one time or another. We have lost plenty of ports for many different reasons over all the ships we’ve been on. We were on a transatlantic cruise just last year that someone got injured on day 2 and we had to turn around and drop them off, which caused us to lose a port that we were really looking forward to visiting. But we still had a wonderful time and you will too. Go and enjoy the ocean, to me that itself is a destination.
  20. Thanks for explaining how it works…..I had no idea it’s so complicated. We have received small refunds for places we wouldn’t even get off the ship for, and other times places that we really, really wanted to visit we didn’t get refunds…..it never was an issue we just didn’t understand. Thanks Ken 😃
  21. The drinks at Disney restaurants that my husband drinks are more than the Royal drinks for sure. Even a glass of wine is more at Disney than the ships.
  22. I’m thinking about booking a Viking cruise but I’m booked up thru next year….. are you on a river or ocean cruise?
  23. We’ve had ports missed and not received port charges back….it’s odd that sometimes they refund them and other times they don’t.
  24. It was mentioned in the Captains Club Webinar by the new President of Celebrity
