  1. Thats what I was afraid of too. I love Radiance class, Serenade is my least favorite. But we ARE going on 2 segments to total 20 days with only 1 sea day, so we’ll be off the ship a lot.
  2. I assume the prices would be different for each segment, depending on the length of that segment and the itinerary? We’re on 2 segments in a spacious balcony on deck 9 and both together don’t add up to that amount
  3. we never walk thru when leaving the theatre….we always go down a deck to walk across. 😁
  4. When we were cruising back on the Odyssey TA , at one point the seas in the North Atlantic were so calm, I can’t remember seeing them like that, so I also took a picture
  5. I didn’t know that about Wonder. I did notice on the 27 days we just spent on Odyssey, we never even once smelled anything coming up from the casino. Whatever they’re doing on that ship, it was working…….although maybe there weren’t too many smokers on those cruises.
  6. On radiance class ships when the outside weather isn’t good, I’ve seen people standing right inside the casino entrance just smoking. No one stopped them. I still love that class and won’t let this affect my cruises too much.
  7. I agree 100% and I mention exactly this in my post cruise survey every time I’m on a Radiance class ship…..which is often because they’re my favorite class of ships. I’ll never forget on Brilliance in Europe years ago for some reason they put a fan at the exit of the casino facing into the Centrum blowing the smoky air in it.
  8. I didn’t post this because I’m getting paid (that’s a ridiculous comment) or to annoy anyone. I simply asked if anyone has the paper with the revised breakdown of the new gratuity amount. I was just curious if they increased the daily amounts distributed to each group equally (attendant, server and other) or if one of the groups were getting more with this change. They all work so hard, I was curious as to how Royal sees each group.
  9. I’m just curious if anyone has the breakdown since the increase to the gratuity was changed to 18.00.
  10. I just weighed the latest block for Odyssey from our cruise last month. It’s the colored one. It’s 34.95 Oz. Just a bit over 2 lbs.
  11. Can you say why you like Gatwick better? Weve never been to the port of Southampton but plan to have a cruise there soon.
  12. The card / game players took over most tables everywhere on the ship, every single venue, including tables in the WJ. I’m not saying what they were doing was wrong, but it was inconvenient for others, including us that wanted to eat lunch in Gio’s wine bar and there was nowhere for us to sit and the guy behind the bar said he couldn’t do anything about the people sitting there all day. We tried more than once. I’ve been on TA cruises before, but this was by far the worst in that trying to find somewhere to sit was almost impossible, and it was rude of the players to be in 270 Playing games loudly at times while there were lectures going on, they took many of the seats away from people that wanted to hear the speaker and the presentation. The last week, we mostly stayed on our balcony during the afternoons to enjoy the sea in peace and quiet.
  13. We were also on that transatlantic as you. We were on the ship from the cruise before also and I can say that it was totally different. The TA was crazy crowded and with so many card and game players every table everywhere was full ALL DAY. I agree with people getting to lectures and games so early it was annoying so we just stopped doing those things. The “Vibe” of the ship on the TA wasn’t nearly as good as the holy land cruise before. A lot of older people that sat around all the common areas all day. I’m older too so don’t flame me. The lobster is nothing special, and as others said it’s been this way since the new menus, which aren’t the same either. On the positive side, I no longer ever gain weight on cruises because I mostly just eat appetizers for dinner.
  14. We had a lunch in the Solarium for those doing the B2B on Odyssey before the TA last month.
  15. Along with the other cruises we may be interested in, this itinerary sounds good too. We loved the Arctic Crossing and said we would love to do it again and not having to fly to Europe is a definite plus! I’ll be watching 😉 thanks Ken
  16. Yes, they knew there would be lots of children, but not the bad behavior. That’s not something that’s expected…..
  17. Thanks! In our case it was that they said the badge scanner system went down or had a glitch (they said something like that) and they weren’t sure if everyone was back on the ship. so no muster needed I guess.
  18. Yes, I read that post. In our case it was different. We didn’t go to muster for them to get a headcount. Just an announcement was made for everyone to go to their staterooms to be counted. Maybe that’s why there wasn’t an emergency signal.
  19. I’m not sure it would be sounded to get a headcount, because that happened to us on a cruise that someone was missing, and there was just announcements made that everyone had to go to their rooms and stay there until the crew went to every room and did a count. No blasts of horns at all. It took about an hour and then we were able to leave the cabin.
  20. Scary…… a few years ago we were at the Disney’s Aulani resort in Hawaii and the fire alarms went off at 2am. We had our son and his family there with us and we all didn’t know what to do. Everyone had their doors open looking around not knowing if it was real. So we all just went outside, kids and all. No one ever came out and said it was real or not so we didn’t know if we could go back inside….. some people ended up just sleeping the rest of the night on the pool loungers..
  21. Just a quick note……last March 18 we took a quick 5 night on Brilliance (in Tampa) to celebrate our anniversary. That’s right in the middle of Spring Break….. yes there were some college kids, but we barely even noticed them at all. In fact, I had never even thought about the possibility of anything but a relaxing cruise and that’s what we had. Would it be like this on an Oasis class ship, probably not, but it’s possible to cruise in March and enjoy it 100%.
  22. Funny, I was going to add that nothing s free on the ship 😁 And I agree with the tip 👍
