  1. Im wondering what pillows will be in the cabins for the segment folks….. like us. Or if we’ll have new bedding and whatever other new things they brought onboard.
  2. We’ve noticed smelling pot many times on local cruises from Florida. So far though, we’ve never noticed it on European or TA cruises…
  3. Yes he told me when I asked him during the lunch with officers that he’s going to Utopia. He’s my favorite Captain.
  4. Since you’re a well seasoned cruiser, I would be interested in your solution. In all the years I’ve cruised I’ve never thought about or paid attention to tip threads…but I have been lately. I feel we want to change what we’re doing but would welcome your ideas. edit…. Or if you really won’t share your ideas (which I hope you will) then share how you approached guest services so that they gave you the info you needed to make a decision
  5. I have in the past handed a tip to someone in the ladies room. She was vigorously scrubbing the stainless steel paper towel holder. I commented on how hard she was scrubbing and when she turned to tell me, I just felt terrible that she had to do this and gave her a tip. They all work so hard doing jobs that we don’t want to do
  6. My DH bought a European cord for his CPAP, so he can just plug it in, but we also have one of the plugs you have there. I also bought a square charger that has USB-C inputs so I can just plug our IPads in.
  7. Are Iceland and Greenland not considered Arctic regions? Because when we did the Arctic Circle Crossing on Voyager we had Captain Thor Thorsson. When we cruised Prins Christin Sund we had to sail around huge chunks of ice and at times the ship was very close to the shore.
  8. Thanks @island lady for starting this thread, which I will be following. We’ll only be on it for 20 days in June and July but can’t wait! And thanks to @orville99 for allowing us to follow you on the shakedown!
  9. I only go see it for the dancing, acrobatics and drumming. I have no idea what it’s about
  10. While it’s ok for kids of all ages to watch, on Odyssey last month a woman brought in 3 very small children, one about a year old and the other two no older than 5, and they were a bit loud to those nearby because they were children being normal. It’s not a show geared towards children, although certainly kid friendly.
  11. There were over 4100 total passengers on the ship. We only went to the DL HH once during the cruise. Like others, we like going to the bars (Schooner mostly) to get drinks and since we had early dining, we didn’t want to go to DL to get tempted to eat snacks before. the only snag for most was getting coffee in the morning. They opened up 3 other ways to get coffee and still had huge lines. We just got there early enough and a couple of times went to the other places. They gave us all a coffee voucher to our seapass every day and the guy in Cafe 270 was giving us the real large cup because he said since we were D+ we could get it…..that sounded odd to me, but I didn’t argue 😁
  12. Odyssey TA October this year. Getting coffee in the morning was an experience
  13. I’m just old fashioned I guess….. I use a black marker to cover my acct info, and I fold the printed paper DH gives me to just show the Royal stock and take a pic with my phone. is snip it an app?
  14. Last year on Odyssey TA to Rome, on day two the captain diverted the ship to PR to drop off a woman that had fallen in the theatre and we heard broke her leg. Her family had to get off too, we saw them all getting off at the pier.
  15. We once talked with a guy in the suite lounge that said he made Pinnacle from gambling comped cruises. At least that’s what he told us.
  16. when we were on Serenade in February, we did this tour. The emerald place was a total waste of our time, obviously they wanted us to buy emeralds…. The people selling things became very aggressively annoying, so every time I saw them coming towards me I just turned my back to them. I don’t like being rude, but I had no choice. i would never do any tour there again…..and yes, it was very not and we’re from Florida and used to heat.
  17. Yes, unfortunately parents could get a bit lax watching their children sometimes when there are other adults also watching. They can get comfortable thinking that with so many eyes on everything, that their children will be safe. And I know the example you’re mentioning. Very sad.
  18. Unfortunately I’ve seen much younger children younger than 16 roaming the halls and stairs unattended, some look under 10. Sometimes doing things I wouldn’t have allowed my children to do.
  19. I really dislike the word “blame”. No one is at fault (another word I dislike). The teen made a decision to do something that ended his life unfortunately. It’s very sad for him and his family.
  20. I also have it for Bella 2 on Wonder, but not Utopia since it was still greyed out in the app
  21. I haven’t seen this thread in a long time, so I apologize if this has been answered somewhere…we’re also on Utopia in Feb 2025 and although I usually apply for the OBC as soon as I book, I didn’t yet for this cruise. Have you been able to get the OBC for Utopia?
