  1. We are looking for something relaxing, so it sounds like Isla de Pasion is probably closer to what we want,
  2. I’m ok with a taxi as long as it is easy to get back. Just don’t want to get stranded. It seems like will have to take transportation no matter what. No close beaches. Passion Island is through the cruise line. Trying to understand the differences. To see if one makes more sense for us.
  3. Just looking for a pleasant time on the beach. Any thoughts on which is better?
  4. FYI, you specified automatic. I like automatic watches because they are fully mechanical so I find them of interest. However, for an accessory you should be aware of the following facts: 1) Automatic watches, especially less expensive ones such as Invicta or less expensive Seiko, are not as accurate as quartz analog watches. A $100 Invicta will not be as accurate as a $30 quartz watch. You may have to adjust the time daily. 2) Automatic watches need to be worn at least daily or the mainspring runs out and you have to restart it the next time you use it. 3) The amount of stored power (eg, hours they can be left off the wrist) is usually significantly exaggerated especially for Invicta watches and lower cost Seiko watches and other brands.
  5. Occasionally they cancel Grand Cayman altogether.
  6. I think Invicta watches are OK as an everyday watch. THEY ARE NOT COLLECTOR WATCHES. I do agree that Seiko watches are generally better however, I think they are about twice the price. I once bought an Invicta watch on a ship once because it was one I happened to want. The price was acceptable but not really great. In general prices in the in ship stores are not really any better than the regular prices in land based discount stores.
  7. Also, they didn’t charge sales tax or service charge on the bottles.
  8. If you got to drink all you wanted at meals why buy any alcohol package!
  9. Anyone do this Celebrity excursion?
  10. Anyone do this excursion on Celebrity?
  11. Have they changed the time when Constellation arrives back in port to help alleviate the fog issue?
  12. I haven’t tried it however that is my understanding. Bring any documentation that you get with the wine to the dining room just in case they ask.
  13. I just ordered a bottle of Red Pinot Noir. It was an acceptable price (I figure a 50% markup over retail price). I would also like to know how this works.
  14. In one of the regular cabins is there a way to connect an Android phone to the TV to watch movies (either streaming if the internet is good or saved on the phone)? If there is a way, exactly what do I need to bring in the way of cables? Thank you for any assistance you can provide.
  15. Personally, unless you have successfully done it before I wouldn't risk one of my dress shirts with their laundry. As an experiment, while at home you might want to take an OLD shirt and wash it on hot and then through it into the dryer on hot and see if it survives.
  16. Not worried about getting there. It is the getting back I want to be sure about.
  17. I am OK with a taxi as long as it is easy to get back (eg, taxis/shuttles routinely run back and forth).
  18. Just looking for a place to sit and relax on the beach for a few hours to a day. We will be in port on Celebrity in early February. Not looking for too much: 1) easy to get to and back 2) nice sand and a beach chair and umbrella 3) will probably put our feet in the water but no real heavy-duty swimming 4) some decent food available for purchase, we are not really big drinkers so lots of booze is not important The cruise line is offering an excursion to Isla de Pasion however it sounds like it is a bit away from the cruise port so not sure if it is worth it. Any help would be appreciated.
  19. The drink packages at current prices probably doesn’t make sense for you however you have to do the pricing to see if it does. ie, how many espresso drinks a day, how many fancy teas a day (regular tea is included, fancy tea is extra), smoothies, sodas, bottled water. Considering the convenience of a package the breakeven for us is about $18 a day for nonalcoholic and about $30 a day for classic alcohol package. Over that we pay as you go.
  20. What do you mean by party? It depends on the sailing however Celebrity has never impressed me as a "party" cruise line.
  21. I had this problem and had to call. In my case I had cancelled an excursion and finally some months later they actually refunded the money however for some reason only known to their IT department they deducted it from my cruise payments and showed a balance due. It took about 45 minutes after I got through for them to fix it.
  22. Personally I like Summit but I don’t think it would meet your needs.
  23. It really depends on how much you drink. For us the math just doesn’t work at current prices.
