  1. What happens to them if their cabins are used for passengers?
  2. That doesn't work for people who had to fly and there are no other ships in port to switch to.
  3. Is Celebrity starting to overbook like the airlines used to? I ask because I have a cruise about 20 days out and the only ocean view cabins they have available are guaranteed. If they are oversold does anyone know how they determine who sails and who is left at the dock?
  4. I am not a big fan of Cococay (I like Laberdee better), however if all you want is a lazy day sitting on the beach it is a great choice. There is even a small amount of snorkeling available. I can't and won't predict the weather. It is above my pay grade.
  5. I am wondering if anybody knows why MoveUp shuts down 72 hours before the cruise however they continue to sell cabins with less then 48 hours to go?
  6. I am not happy about it, but Cunard no longer requires a tuxedo on formal nights. FYI, on Celebrity I have seen men in nice t-shirts on Chic nights.
  7. Are you saying they don’t offer senior rates for suites?
  8. It is a 5 minute conversation after about an hour or 2 on hold. I am not planning on canceling a cruise at the moment, just trying to understand.
  9. Usually around 30 days out
  10. You can’t really find the price unless you have booked a cruise. Pices can vary by cruise and ship. Also , from time to time they run specials. The quality of food has been declining. Celebrity needs lots of money to pay off debt so citing food quality let’s them save money. Having said that, I cruised about a year ago and the MDR food was OK.
  11. If you just do a no show are you in the same position since within 30 days you are at 100% loss anyway?
  12. I’ve sailed Constellation and never even considered the unlimited meal plan. Just not enough variety. Sometimes Celebrity offers a discount on fewer night meal plans. you might want to consider that option.
  13. Two things. First it seems like you may be in the window where cruise planner stops working. I think it is 3 days prior to sailing. Second, are the specific excursions cancelable? As noted NOT all excursions can be cancelled. Finally, it could be an all too common Celebrity IT screwup.
  14. Pompei can be very interesting IF you have a good tour guide.
  15. Hard to tell the difference between the 2. It would really depend on the current staff.
  16. A similar problem happened with my cruise. Celebrity/Royal IT department is screwed up. Unfortunately if you travel with Celebrity you have to keep checking everything to watch for their mistakes.
  17. I am not really considering a subway because of luggage.
  18. Any thoughts on the best reasonably priced way to get to the Cruise port from NY Penn? Last time I traveled out of Brooklyn I left my car but that doesn't work for a Trans Atlantic.
  19. Are there usually taxis lined up at the Tampa Cruise port and how much to TPA? Are there any better ways to get to the airport after a cruise? We have a very late flight so no rush.
  20. Sometimes. It depends on the particular cruise and how much you bid. I once got a great deal going from inside to what they used to call Family Veranda. Remember that you might end up in any one of the cabin class you bid on. Look at all the locations where you might end up. If you are OK with any of them then bid what you would feel comfortable paying for the larger cabin and I assume Luminae if you are moving up from Aqua.
  21. I would love to get a straight answer out of Celebrity about their excursions. I don’t think they really know what they are offering.
  22. Not sure it is followed however the FAQs say you have to carry it on with you and not check it with the porters.
  23. Did you apply for an expedited passport? Depending on the ports you might not need a passport. You might want to look into your options just in case it does not arrive in time.
