  1. I’m booked on a fall Viking cruise, but I did so relatively last minute. I don’t think I would ever book one a year or more in advance with those terms.
  2. Which is why I’m surprised that the Viking demographic seems to lean heavily towards passengers from the US
  3. Years and years ago, my parents took my sisters and me and our kids on a family cruise on a Royal Caribbean ship. We had a ball. We all split into various groups and did our own thing during the day and then all met as a big family group for dinner at night. Great memories
  4. The other “problem” with Viking, at least in the US, is that they want final payment almost immediately. No 90 days out for them.
  5. If you haven’t yet signed up for the specialty restaurants, where can you do that?
  6. @uktog, I hope you’ll do a “live from” report once you are onboard!
  7. I’m plowing through The Path Between the Seas 😊 and excursions all booked! I am excited for our first Viking cruise and will plan on a “live from” report!
  8. I am already booked for October 20. Just a bit nervous as this drought persists and the cruise lines likely to get hit with additional fees.
  9. https://www.cruisehive.com/entire-panama-canal-season-cancelled-for-royal-caribbean-ship/108335
  10. That isn’t completely clear from what I’ve been reading
  11. @Huntermedal, what itinerary are you considering?
  12. With the ongoing drought in Panama, and ships backed up at the canal, I am wondering what will happen to cruise ships come October if drought conditions continue. I can’t imagine they would be a high priority.
  13. I used ACH too, which I just signed up for a few hours before reservations opened. I’m glad everything worked out for you!!
  14. I am in a DV also, and logged in to the minute when the reservations opened. I so appreciate the tips that I learned here! There were some hiccups, as @Gail Boertzel mentioned, but I was able to book my most preferred paid excursion right away before the trouble started. So I just booked my included ones and then went back and tried again and was able to book the one other paid one. All in all, not too bad.
  15. I’ll do that! was thinking more about the overall size of the ship, in terms of getting from here to there.
  16. We are trying our first Viking Ocean cruise this fall. Not sure we will like the larger ship and already don’t like the way they organize the included excursions registration - with the top cabins getting first dibs. We shall see how it goes! Do have a 2025 Azamara cruise booked.
  17. Yes, you may see more cabins become available before final payment.
  18. The transfer has to be made within 30 days of booking.
  19. This is one of the reasons I am hesitant to book a port intensive itinerary. I really like the sea days, when there are the opportunities for lectures, special brunches, and other onboard events.
  20. If my cabin lacked a fridge, I would probably point to the amenities list and voice a complaint (and I am not a complainer)!
  21. Stateroom Features Veranda Two lower beds convertible to one Queen size bed Sitting area with 40” flat-screen TV Refrigerator with mini-bar Thermostat-controlled air conditioner Direct-dial telephone with voicemail Writing desk In-room safe Hand-held hairdryer USB ports under bedside reading lamps Stateroom: 175 sq. ft. (16.3 sq. m.) | Veranda: 40 sq. ft. (3.7 sq. m.) This is from the Azamara website and clearly states that the rooms are supposed to include a refrigerator with mini-bar
  22. Kahlua is not part of the included package. I don’t know is that particular whisky is even available.
