  1. Yes, they deal with both RCCL and Celebrity. It was really convenient to send out one e-mail for my upcoming cruises on both lines.
  2. Luminae is open on embarkation day so being in a suite, you would not have needed the B2B luncheon as you could have gone to Luminae.
  3. I can't remember if the limes mean premium or classic. Someone else might now off-hand. Another place to look is your boarding pass which should be able to access now. You should see PALL somewhere on it which is the premium drink package.
  4. Aqua is basically the same as a veranda cabin plus Blu plus Spa. Take those away and I do not know why you pay $2,000 more for the same cabin. I don't understand what your comment has to do with mine. Aren't we talking about specialty dining? I was replying to this question of yours and that fact that you "don't get" why people don't book specialty dining.
  5. Because food doesn't play the same role in everyone's vacations and everyone's tastes are different. I'm not a foodie and am very happy with the food I find in the MDR or Luminae when we book suites. I don't generally pay for specialty dining.
  6. That is an old list. Concierge no longer gets priority anything. Here is a link to Celebrity's page regarding Concierge Staterooms with the current benefits (scroll down a bit): https://www.celebritycruises.com/things-to-do-onboard/staterooms/concierge-class-stateroom
  7. I have no fear this will spread to other Caribbean islands. Grand Cayman has often been an outlier in more strict rules for cruise ships (just look at the restart when they were one of the last islands to let ships back in). They are far more willing to enact policies that affect their cruise ship tourism revenue than other islands. Maybe because they don't depend on revenue from cruise ship passengers as much.
  8. The embarkation day lunch is a huge benefit to us because it lets us avoid the chaos of the buffet and is a great way to start the cruise. The rooms in both categories are identical. Concierge class cabins often are in a little better locations so take a look at the deck plans and see if you have a preference where each are located (if location is important to you). Concierge class earns loyalty points at a higher rate 5 points per night vs. 3 points per night. This only matters if you expect to build loyalty with Celebrity. The other benefits to concierge class aren't all that important to us (bottle of sparkling wine, daily treats, access to the concierge) but may be important to others. If the price difference isn't too large, we like concierge.
  9. Supposedly she answered a question about this during a Q&A recently on the Beyond. Her response was that bringing a ship into service from the very beginning like she did on the Beyond is something Captains usually only get to do once. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think she truly brought the Edge into service from the start.). She did not expect to be captain of the Ascent.
  10. When I have seen two prices on the menu on my last few cruises, the premium package did not include the higher priced martinis. I just ordered the smaller one. With the drink package you can always order a second (or third).
  11. @nunuc2000 and @chamima I have never seen any martinis on the martini menu covered by the classic package. I have heard that in the past bartenders have been willing to make smaller versions of them (although it sounds like many no longer will do that) but it has never been spelled out on the menu. That even goes back to my pre-pandemic cruises at least to 2016. I have often upgraded to the premium drink package because the martini bar drinks were not included in the classic package and they are my favorite drinks on board. On my last few cruises, there were two prices on the menu. The lower price was within the premium package limits. I had assumed that the two sizes gave those paying for drinks a la carte a choice in size.
  12. When I called a few weeks ago to book the premium wifi using my Elite discount the price quoted was approximately 30% off of the pre-cruise discounted price so they did appear to stack the discounts.
  13. The drink packages limits were just increased to $10 for Classic and $17 for Premium.
  14. I usually try to let them know ahead of time. There is a special needs e-mail address on their website. And then I talk to the head waiter when on board in the MDR. They usually give me the next day's menu(s) the night before so I can pre-order. In other restaurants and the buffet, I try to find someone in charge to ask any questions. The average crew doesn't always have the best information. @mandream I do think Celebrity still has work to do when it comes to vegan options. I was really excited to see vegan options clearly labeled on Royal's new menus and NCL offered me a whole vegan menu in addition to making modifications to items on the main menu. I eat chicken and seafood so can usually find starters and entrees on the main menu they can modify but cruise lines with vegan menus give me better options for dessert.
  15. @cgolf1 I am allergic to dairy and Celebrity is among the best in not only making sure I have safe things to eat but also making sure there is flavor in those dishes. I had a similar experience with Royal recently with their brand new menus but my experience on Princess was pretty bad. Even with pre-ordering in the MDR, food was bland because they would just leave off all the sauces and seasonings and the dairy free dessert I had each night was almost identical the previous nights except a different color. Their buffet had so little variety and were not labeled so I rarely found anything I could eat there. Carnival was the same. My experience in NCL was a bit better but still not up to how Celebrity handles food allergies. So even with the cuts, my food experience as someone with a dietary restriction is still much better on Celebrity than other lines.
  16. Yes. Somethings you need to cancel pre-cruise to get a refund (and the cruise planner closes for bookings and cancellations 2-3 days before your cruise). Others like shore excursions have a cancellation policy of so many days before the port and thus can often even be cancelled once on board..
  17. Although you can do some estimations based on cabins unsold, as @Jim_Iain mentioned, even the ship's crew don't actually know until everyone is on board as people can cancel, no show, and book up until almost the last minute.
  18. Each line's points are completely separate so the only way to get to Elite Plus is to accumulate points from zero with Celebrity.
  19. If you are not seeing the Elite when you log in to Celebrity's website, go to Settings, and My Loyalty and enter your Crown & Anchor number, if that field is blank. I believe you can also do it on the app. If that doesn't work, you may have to call the Captain's Club number.
  20. You can get tap water in restaurants, bars, and the buffet for free. The water is safe to drink and tastes good to us. Bottled water does cost.
  21. The e-mails reminding you to check in are automatic. We get them every time. The app isn't accurate for menus until about a week before and I've seen changes happen even in the last couple days before the cruise.
  22. Only for select itineraries. Here is a link to the covid section on Celebrity's website: https://www.celebritycruises.com/health-and-safety
  23. See this post on another thread of a report from the Apex where someone is able to get Red Bull under the classic package. Maybe they did expand the non-alcohol options on the classic package.
  24. I know exactly where you quote that from as I see it for my upcoming cruise too but it contradicts other parts of Celebrity’s website. Just to make sure I understand, your daughter has the classic package and has been able to order premium water, Red Bull, fresh juices (not canned), etc. at no additional charge? This would be great news.
  25. If that is actually true, that means Celebrity expanded the classic package at a time when Celebrity is making cuts which I doubt is true. Evian, San Pellegrino, Red Bull, Vitamin Water, and fresh juices have not been included in the classic package in the past. And what you quote contradicts other parts of Celebrity’s website which was the whole point of my comment which was a response to someone listing what the classic package has traditionally included and not included.
