  1. Going on Bliss at the end of November. Will look for this! I loved the Indian for on Carnival ships in the past. I did notice on Miracle they had an "asian selections" area where there was often Indian food.
  2. Nah, I appreciate the pics. What would guest services even do? Move him to a different room? What if they're sold out? The rooms are cleaned everyday so clearly something is wrong with this ships process and procedures. More likely than not, they would apologize, give him $100 FCC and call it a day.
  3. Agreed, nothing is free. But I in my years of cruising, I have never seen Cheers discounted with the exception of the small discount for purchasing it early.
  4. Going to disagree with you there. I recently booked a 5 day NCL cruise (unlimited drink package included) CHEAPER than what I could have booked a four day CCL cruise with Cheers.
  5. Thanks! Yeah, it's been frustrating watching old reviews of Bliss and they mention items\shows that are no longer on the ship. Thanks for the reply!
  6. Disregard the question about the steam room. I now have that answer.
  7. Interesting. The other day I was reading reviews of the NCL Bliss and a person was critical of a fee that was on their bill that they did not expect. Reviewer called it a "Free at sea fee". My wife said it was probably gratuities. We did the math and it was pretty close to being the 20% per day for the drink package had we purchased it outright.
  8. Do you have to make reservations for the "Speak-easy" show or is it first come first serve? Is there a sauna for free use or do I need a day pass etc to use the facilities (outside of just the normal gym) ETA, have no desire to use salt room or the heated chairs, just looking for a sauna.
  9. Will they lose money on this decision yes. Will it help keep troublemakers from causing trouble...no. Meh, I never pre-purchased booze for my room but I know people who did. Was a nice option to have. Would have been better to see if it was restricted to higher level VIFP people.
  10. This^ We're cruising on NCLs Bliss next month and my wife generally preps everything. I just show up. But I look at pics and read reviews and I have to keep asking....Can we go here? Do I need to pay extra for this? At least on Carnival, I know I can use 99% percent of the ship and not have to worry about special areas. (Only really have seen that on Pano since we've never been on MG)
  11. From some quick googling...looks like there are 3 Targets all very close to the Long Beach terminal and 1 Walmart as well. Best of luck!
  12. On Bliss next month. Can I make a reservation for the "Speakeasy" show or is it first come first serve?
  13. No need to apologize. While I am sure he's a nice guy, I feel he is woefully inadequate at his position, and frankly, waaaayyyy overworked given the needs of customers. I believe every ship class, at least for the Carnival brand itself, should have a public relations\brand ambassador. Sure, one could say that guests can email the hotel director etc etc but I feel that there are more guests let down by the brand as there are happy with the brand. For our holiday cruise this year we are moving on from Carnival and taking Bliss out of southern CA. We've sailed NCL many times but this will be our first out of LA and our first on this class of ship.
  14. I still can't figure out how that guy is the brand ambassador or whatever his title is.
  15. I feel this way about the Panorama as well. I love me a big atrium and while I know that atrium size does not equal a great or fun cruise, I felt that ship was very tight and cramped from my very first steps on board. Pool areas felt the same as well. In contrast we love the refurb'd Radiance.
  16. Cruises of five days or more is my threshold. I am eating and drinking too much and after a couple days, I need to get my blood moving a bit.
  17. We had both Monster and Celsius energy drinks on our last Carnival cruise. Greatly prefer Celsius.
  18. Can I get alcoholic coffee drinks at the Starbucks on board?
  19. After more than dozen or so Carnival cruises in the last few years (pandemic exluded), we wanted to try NCL out of SoCal. We've been on NCL for several cruises and never had a bad cruise on NCL but they were always 7 day or longer itineraries. When looking at prices of Carnival out of LBC for 4 days versus NCL for 5 days, Carnival was cheaper but when I added in the drink package for four days, Carnival was more expensive than the 5 day NCL cruise we booked with the "free at sea" offers. Seemed like a no brainer. Never cruised out of San Pedro and never been on Bliss before so we hope to have a good time.
  20. I saw a Carnival ad on tv last night. First time I have ever seen a Carnival tv spot.
  21. We got pretty good pricing from NCL this week. We book Bliss for 5 nights out of California and with the included drink package, it was only slightly "cheaper" than getting the 4 day on Carnival. And it's a day longer. I used quotes because on face value NCL was slightly more but when you add in the Cheers package on Carnival, NCL was cheaper. Wife and I always get the drink package so on Carnival that would have been about $400 more to the cost of the cruise.
  22. Instead of being sarcastic and not helpful at all, perhaps you could enlighten us with your breadth of knowledge on how dishwashers work. Nevermind, chengkp75 did a great job of telling us without being condescending
  23. Right, I go out of LBC for Carnival so often that it's almost habit. But yes, not LBC. Thanks!
  24. Wife and I will be on Bliss the week after Thanksgiving out of Long Beach. We've been on about five other NCL cruises but it's been about three years. I think for our last NCL cruise, we ate either buffet or MDR for lunch. In watching videos on Bliss dining, please correct me if I am wrong but lunch options, as best as I can tell, are as follows... Buffet - no additional charge The Local (O'Sheehans's) - no additional charge Margaritaville - cover change of $14.99 and that's for one app, entree and dessert MDR - no additional charge Observation lounge - not sure if cost or not or exclusive to suite guests Does that look like a complete list? Please let me know if I've missed something. We will not be staying in a Haven room. Thanks in advanced for any input.
