  1. Yeah, wife booked Bliss out of Long Beach for November. We've been on NCL several times before but I guess I'm just spoiled on Carnivals KISS beverage package. One price, you get booze, coffee, water. Now I see I need to upgrade to get the same level. Oh well, I guess they have done the research and think it's better this way.
  2. I have to admit, I am amused. After our last dozen or so cruises on Carnival out of Long Beach, I mentioned to my wife that I would like to try NCL out of LBC. We've sailed NCL several times and it's always been a great cruise. Hilarious though that the exact same arguments are happening here on the NCL boards as are going on over at CCL. Oh well, guess every line is cutting back and people will surely argue about it. Although I am bummed there is no Moderno Churrascaria on Bliss. Meh, plenty of other options.
  3. What do you mean by "waste". On a cruise is the only time the wife and I indulge in frosted flakes and fruit loops. We don't waste a thing.
  4. Correct, you can call the night before or the morning of.
  5. Hi there! I am sorry, I am trying to understand your statement. When did they turn their nose up at the 30-40% of their customers? Are you referring to unvaxed? Unvaxed have always been able to cruise. I think it was carnival that had 5% reserved for unvaxed folks right from the beginning. I totally respect your choice to not be vaxed. But there are no masks any longer. But yes, for unvaxed there is still pre-cruise testing.
  6. Your name is nowhere on the financial institution's documentation? That might be tough then.
  7. When in LB, you will have sales tax included on the drinks you purchase even on Cheers.
  8. I am hoping that the other lines come around to Starlink and start offering it on their ships. As best as I can tell the Starlink deal with RCCL is not exclusive so hopefully slow internet will be a thing of the past. Of course coverage is not 100% but still better than the existing. A guy can dream.
  9. Cruising was great initially. Low passenger counts meant wide open spaces, not much waiting, and peace and quiet. Now, things are crazy busy but the lines are in a tough spot. Some amenities and features have been cut back on various ships and this has repeat customers upset. Chalk it up to supply chain, staffing or just money saving efforts. And price increases for things like drink packages have people bummed. But we've had fun on all our cruises since startup.
  10. We were on Panorama and there was a family that setup one of these little 24inch baby pools. The child looked very happy to be in it. I did not see what they did with the water but I imagine you can dump it in the toilet when finished. All staff and passengers loved it. And you really don't need more than 1\2 of water, maybe even less. https://www.amazon.com/Intex-Sunset-Glow-Baby-Pool/dp/B000OV0X3Y/ref=sr_1_22?keywords=baby+blow+up+pool+small&qid=1663950588&sprefix=baby+blow+up+%2Caps%2C146&sr=8-22
  11. You should receive an email that looks like below. It will come from "guestadmin@carnival.com". After about two weeks of not receiving any reply, I sent an email and the OBC was given the next day. " This is just a quick auto reply to let you know that we've received your email. We're happy to look into your inquiry and get back to you as soon as we can. Due to an increase in inquiries our response time will take longer than normal. We will process your request as rapidly as possible but keep in mind this may happen as late as the week prior to sailing. Please do not submit any duplicate requests. Thank you for your patience; we value your business and appreciate this opportunity to assist. 12. Meh, sitting in a room on a cruise is a waste, suite or not.
  13. Yup! And if breakfast, get up and make a plate. Buffet only really gets busy around 9am. I guess my wife and I don't understand the desire to be in your room. I am paying to be on a cruise. If I wanted to sit in a hotel room I could do that at home.
  14. Wife and I were talking about this the other day. I think CCL management probably just looked long and hard at a number of aspects like food costs and labor costs and figured room service is just a loss leader. Sure, a few balcony folks like eating bfast or coffee or whatever and having food delivered. But really, it takes what, five minutes for a guest to go to the buffet. Whereas it takes probably no less than a half dozen people for a room service trip and clean up. I don't mind if room service went away all together.
  15. There will be a welcome aboard show the first night then a couple more shows. There is love and marriage show, piano bar and comedian. Various musical acts around ship as well. If you are up for a dirty, filthy, adult show, the CD does an "adult game night" in the lounge where the nightclub is. It's XXX though at not for those who don't like sex jokes or adult content. We had a great time. Arrive 30 minutes early.
  16. lol, good luck. Hope the truck driver strike doesn't cause you any issues coming out of LB. 'NO TO AB5': Hundreds of California port truckers protest labor law | Supply Chain Dive
  17. I didn't mail anything. For my proof of stock ownership, I simply logged into my financial company's web portal and took screenshots of my investments with the CCL stock highlighted. Once I had those, I attached those to the body of the email and sent them all in.
  18. Nice! Glad to see Carnival addressing (or at least making an effort) their past passenger issues.
  19. Yeah, needs to be 11pm or midnight at the latest.
  20. #1, I don't see why not. If they process both at the same time, you should be able to see the obc in your Carnival account. #2, I wouldn't trust a fax either. #3, 4 weeks Shareholder benefit page https://www.carnivalcorp.com/static-files/50351a91-4dc0-4f6b-bfec-684647e6129f
  21. I used this template another member posted a few months back. I received my credit without issue. Hi! Please find attached my current brokerage statement. Please issue shareholder credit to the following: Legal name: MY NAME Booking number: MY BOOKING NUMBER Ship: MY SHIP Sailing date: THE EMBARKATION DATE Thank you! I attached two screenshots, one indicating my Carnival stock and the other my name, both with the account number redacted. I would get an immediate automated response saying they received my email. Then 2-3 weeks later I would get an email saying the shareholders credit had been issued.
  22. Interesting. I remember reading about people bringing on those pre-made protein drinks like Ensure, PureProtein etc when they may have been on a diet or dietary restrictions. Wonder if this kills brining those on since most are twist off plastic bottles. (Granted, you can get canned versions of most of those)
  23. I dunno, I feel all loyalty programs are pointless, especially in this day and age. There are too many lines, too many options and I would simply take my money to another line in a second if I thought I would get a better value for my money. People get so hung up on perks and free stuff. I don't get it. Life's too short.
