  1. Wow what a lineup. I'm going to be a happy camper! I love it thanks Suzy!
  2. I disagree with almost every point the op made. We never stopped cruising during pandemic if ships were booking and we had one of our best cruises ever on Odyssey last month, food was better, entertainment was stellar, one of the best production shows we ever saw in Show Girls and the Book was spectacular. There was a while there even before pandemic that the food was subpar, but they seem to have gotten the picture. I didn't eat the prime rib for a couple years, but on Odyssey it was superb. So venders are getting better and with the new menus coming on I look for more variety, hopefully. I'm happy but then I'm a half full gal.
  3. I hope they do not change my amenity, I'm perfectly happy with my bottle of St. Michelle Champagne. DH wasn't too happy with his warm beer though.
  4. I believe the key is whether or not your particular ship is booked. The bigger the ship, the more likely to have a few rooms unbooked. Symphony was the one we won, Adventure and Vision, not!
  5. The only bid I won was minimum, all the others we adjusted upward a little, nothing!
  6. We have everything known to man for GoPro and a GoPro 10...I'll get hubs to do it.
  7. At last, I must concede that I need help in negotiating a ship...so I've been looking at purchasing my first portable mobile device, wheelchair or walker for our next cruise. So we'll see how it is received soon. I think I'll do a review from Allure in September from an accessible perspective. You think holding a recording iphone whilst boarding elevators or negotiating the MDR or Windjammer will make a difference...we shall see. Personally, I go out of my way to accomodate someone in a scooter or walker, my Momma raised me right. But this little experiment should be interesting. Stay tuned....
  8. All the totes we got, the zippers failed within a year, in the trash!
  9. Indeed as others said, the blue cards with all the electronics in it CANNOT be punched, I just used my plastic sleeve again put on my scrunchie wrist holder.
  10. Absolutely... had to make several pit stops for breath on the way up, this one was murder!
  11. At port the seabed is deeper dredged, along where Maya Chan is, there is a lot of coral making shallower seabed so I think the seaweed, Sargasso crap is more prolific there, that's my guess anyways.
  12. Thanks for confirming pretty much everything about the food that we experienced on Odyssey. Even mentioning the Onion Soup and the Prime Rib. Loved your very detailed review...love Allure, our fave sister.
  13. That is too funny! We've done Fresh on several ships, but 3 wks ago on Odyssey, Todd had to school the chef at Fresh about refried beans ala Texas style. What is a TexMex restaurant without refried Pintos? So they talked for 10 minutes about it! Ha We never got them, just turtle beans(black beans) which is NOT Tex Mex. and not mashed. But we found it at least as palatable as Taco Bell! LOL Made a good quick tasty lunch anyways! You cannot beat TexMex in San Antonio, best on the planet on every corner. We do Voyager again in September, don't know if they've added Fresh to her, but hope so.
  14. Doesn't Royal have their own wheel chair assistance for boarding the ship? Carnival does. You request the service before you board and the wheel chair is waiting along with an employee to wheel you up those long boarding ramps. We are just considering taking my rollator instead, but would prefer to rent from Scootaround. But this last cruise was really hard on me boarding Odyssey. The longest ramps we've ever experienced in Ft. Lauderdale.

  16. As I've said before, we've been on all of them but Harmony and I refused to book her for that very reason, no water feature, what's a solarium without one? And a shower doesn't count. Allure will always be my favorite because of the little creek that runs through it, the little pool is not that bad either. Now I love the Quantum class Solariums almost as well.
  17. God bless us...every one! Please stay warm and cozy and have a happy day today and a prosperous and happy New Year with following winds and calm seas!
  18. They were prominently placed in the Solarium, which was the only pool area we visited. "No food or glass containers" it said.
  19. I'm happy with our bottles of St. Michelle Champagne, I always get a glass of orange from WJ and make mimosa's in our cabin for sailaway!
  20. You're not the only one, been there done that, left my whole document folder at home. Had to have my daughter drive half way to Galveston from San Antonio to meet me as we double backed desparately praying to make the sailaway hour (90 minutes from sailaway) And I think I am completely ACD! We did get the cards. They reside in plastic sleeves attached to my flight bag at all times with a braided wire key chain along with our vax cards. Even If I forget them, they will be with me, I cannot leave without the bag. So relieved that you got to the end and got on!! Woot!
  21. I actually asked several women if they were Bette! LOL Then we ran across her at the top tier and I had a feeling and sure enough there she was. I couldn't wear my Santa hat because of my little booboo, it hurt my egg! In fact I'll just go ahead and share...watch where you're going and don't miss the curb when walking in Ft. Lauderdale. I tripped and ran into a concrete pillar! This happened Saturday night before the cruise so if you saw a lady wearing gold lenz shades all week it was me: IMG_3051.HEIC
  22. And we use the app exclusively now, it took seconds at the desk last week. They don't look at anything else anymore. We have the Passport Cards, but take note, they cannot be used for international air travel. That's the only document she even looked at. Didn't even bother looking at our vax cards either.
  23. This is kinda irrelevant but we transit the ship a lot of times in the cabin corridors which is much faster than using the promenade, and one time we were walking down one and we saw a door decoration, didn't have our phones so no picture, but since there are numerous threads on that subject I have to say, this door was stellar! They had taken an authentic fish net (like the ones we used to decorate our rooms with as teens back in the day, along with glass ball floats) remember those??? and then put all sorts of sea worthy junk and a Christmas Message all over the net. It was quite something. Wish we had a pic but I just didn't have time to hunt it down again. But there were plenty of door deco.
