  1. They are "plastic welded" so that they shouldn't leak.
  2. I *believe* (could be wrong) that it is always near the beginning of the cruise. Couldn't say for sure if it is always on a formal night but that would make sense.
  3. I was not aware that Ruby did not...MOST Princess ships do.
  4. Here's a short clip from the Island Princess, Sept. 2022 Champagne Waterfall Island P.mp4
  5. Otherwise known as "The Lords of Kobol" package
  6. Another "plus" is that there will be much less traffic passing through the hallway past your cabin door...
  7. I am certainly NOT trying to defend the app by any means...but the app is updated almost without fail every 2 months (or less). Saying it is "very old" is the same as saying Microsoft Word is ancient and shouldn't be used. Just "being old" (regarding its existence) does not make it a "security risk". Rick (retired IT)
  8. We tried The Catch while on the Sky Princess earlier this year. Great meal...(group of 4) we all agreed it was one of the best meals we've ever had on a ship. Here are a few pics:
  9. All late model Apple and Samsung phone chargers are dual voltage. Don't forget that there will be a 110 volt "standard US-style" outlet at the desk. (Might not be as close as you wish...) If you need to plug in more than one device at a time...perhaps something like this will help (available at any hardware store):
  10. It totally depends on exactly what you may be directly under. If you are directly under the pool deck area then yes...you're going to hear a lot of deck chairs being moved around early each morning. Other spots, probably not so much. However...if you come to realize that you *are* under the pool...just keep telling yourself "A day at sea on a cruise ship is better than any day back home NOT on a ship!"
  11. We have "done tea" on a couple of occasions. Being a guy from the US (and well entrenched in the middle class) it just doesn't really do a lot for me. But I know a lot of people really like it...
  12. Pretty sure all the fleet has it now.
  13. There is obviously a lot of confusion about how cell phones work (or don't work!) Voice calls and text use the cellular signal...not data. I fully agree with you that *data* is what "runs up the bill". It is the data that is tracked in cell phone plans (at least in the US) and once you hit whatever cap you have contracted for in your plan you go into extra charge. Calls are unlimited (most plans)...because they don't use data.
  14. I guess you gotta be from the South to hear it much...and old!
  15. We did the British Isles in 2019 on the Crown Princess. Great cruise! We did a pre-cruise transfer from London to Southampton via Stonehenge with International Friends Tours: Then in Liverpool we saw the Cavern Club: We stood in line a LONG time to see the Blarney stone...we didn't have enough time!
  16. It *should* be considered as "refundable OBC". That being said...if there's a casino anywhere nearby, I have never been so lucky as to need a refund! 🙄
  17. This appears to be a duplicate post...
  18. That type of thing only works in Mayberry...Andy handles it personally.
  19. Unfortunately with the outsourcing of the main call center reports like this are becoming all too common. Many have posted here on CC that they would call 3 times and get 3 different answers for seemingly very basic questions. Poor or total lack of training is really the only explanation.
  20. We'll have to agree to disagree on this one. While most people do not do so, that's what the short ground wire is for on 3 prong adapters...attaching to the outlet plate screw in order to provide the proper ground.
  21. @Pylon...any telephone anywhere in the *world* (except *maybe North Korea!) can call any other telephone in the world. The days of not being able to connect from some systems are long gone. The systems just do not care where the call is originating from. They forward along and connect it as if it were a local call. You are *way* overthinking this and maybe stressing a bit.
  22. Guest services can *easily* switch your account to your new card if you like. Trying to get the app to cooperate in this area is crazy persnickity!
  23. Here's something that you might want to check. Log on to your Princess account and see if it will let you purchase OBC prior to your cruise using the gift card(s). I've never done this so I am not sure that it will let you but I don't see why it wouldn't. I may be wrong....but if it lets you do so then you wouldn't have to worry about it on board.
