We live in Scotland so it wouldn't be a cheap cruise after adding flights etc but I did do a 5 night with my daughter and grandson last year (it was a trial๐) we drove down and had to add on hotel stops in both directions and just as well we did because the weather was terrible when we got of the ship. If I lived reasonably near the port you wouldn't be able to keep me off ๐๐

It may depend on the childs age. When we were on Britannia in October with a 4 year old we didn't get a pager they just checked if you would have your phone with you.

We were on Britannia for a five night cruise in October and there was one formal night.

P&O Cruisers - What are things like where YOU are?

Josy, the scones look lovely. Peanut, sorry to read about your spaniel, hope you get the medication she needs. We have a cocker spaniel that has been diagnosed with a heart murmur that has gotten worse very worrying. When we put her to bed a couple of weeks ago we didn't think she'd make it over night but in the morning she got out of her bed wagging her tail ๐ -
Hope this happens on all the ships a step in the right direction for a change๐

In October on Britannia we boarded approximately 12.30 pm and had a loyalty lunch in one of the restaurants with drinks. Half bottle delivered to the cabin on the formal evening also drinks vouchers for a glass of fizz, one sail away and the other because there was no cocktail party.

We had afternoon tea on Britannia in October. You had to book it, many didn't and just turned up and were turned away as it was limited availability. Not quite the as it used to be but still nice sandwiches and cakes ๐

Zapp, we were on Britannia in October and there were bananas (and other fresh fruit) available in the buffet. Seen people taking a tray and piling it high with fruit. It was a port day so I suppose taking it with them!

Well my phone is far from being the latest technology but it worked ok when I needed it but we didn't bother to book mdr after the first night and didn't have to wait for a table (3) We did book for the afternoon tea on the first day as it said it would be limited availability many on the day didn't and got turned away.

I don't post often but read all the new posts as I'm a bit nosy ๐ I would like to wish everyone a Happy, Healthy and prosperous New Year ๐ -
When we were on Britannia at the end of October we didn't even try to take photos! Wasn't a problem taken at check in like it used to be, in fact the majority (that I seen) who had taken their own had to have them taken again.
-
We've done both depending on which hotel we've booked and if it's a nice day. It's sometimes quicker depending on the time as there can be queues for the traffic

I didn't have a suite but do have higher tier loyalty rewards and we had a lovely lunch in one of the restaurants with drinks. My daughter was travelling with me and she got included (we shared a cabin) we enjoyed it a nice start to our cruise on Britannia at the end of Oct

The roads and pavements here are a sheet of ice. My husband took our dog out with out me, I was intending to go but didn't even get to the end of the drive! Of course there hasn't been a gritting lorry in sight. Tried to book a taxi for him as he's meant to meet friends at an indian restaurant for lunch (Christmas "do") and they're not taking any bookings before 1 pm shall have to look up buses that will be a shock for him๐ I use the bus and complain constantly๐ -

Like you I wouldn't have it! When daughter told me I only tried it to humour her but surprisingly it goes down a treat ๐ -

It's been cold here but no frost or snow, thank goodness as I fall over just by looking at it (always been like that) ๐ My father used to say I could trip and fall over my shadow! -

I absolutely hate when it's slippery underfoot as I seem to fall so easily! Take care -
Iona turndown service in four-berth cabin
July morning replied to Northeastcruiser007's topic in P&O Cruises ( UK )
We're got of Britannia on the 21st Oct and had a three berth cabin and we were asked what time we would like the bed settee made up, opted for a bucket of ice at 5pm and bed made up at 6.30pm. She didn't do anything else at that time but we weren't expecting as we had read things on this site before going about no turn down service. -
We got off Britannia on Friday and printed our luggage labels in black (had run out of colour) didn't attempt to download the photos no problems was done at the check in desk like pre-covid. We did complete the health declaration on line three days before and only asked if there were any changes which there wasn't and if we had adequate insurance but didn't have to show it or our covid NHS certificate. Some passengers were wearing masks but very few (we didn't) and crew I'd say in our experience was 60% wearing masks it seemed to be depending on where you were.

Going on Britannia in October and got an email today saying check-in is now open but when I tried to do so it doesn't recognise my middle name. I'm sure I've read somewhere about this happening to others and just wondered what the out come was. We booked direct with P&O probably need to phone or can you still do everything at the terminal? -

A quick question about the Air-fryers are they still being used or have they found a space in a cupboard? I ask because I have been looking at them on line with thoughts of buying one but the choice is mind blowing! If I do get one is big better ๐ -
We are Caribbean level so go to the embarkation loyalty lunch on arrival but this time we are travelling with our 4 year old grandchild will we have to go separately or will we be able to take him in with us? We are going on Britannia if that makes a difference

Cruise cancelled with 4 days notice - Balmoral
July morning replied to Eglesbrech's topic in Fred. Olsen Cruise Line
So sorry to hear this. I felt annoyed earlier in the year when we booked a cruise on the Monday afternoon and it was cancelled on the Wednesday morning but at least I had time to find a replacement. Good luck
