  1. Good points. A lot of Americans think the USD is the international currency, it is not. Some countries will not accept the greenback.
  2. Tipping is already here and has been here for decades. I tip 10% in restaurants if the food and service meet my expectations. I just got a gluten free base 🍕 delivered from the local pizza shop. Young and pleasant 18 yr old girl did the delivery, pizza was $25, I gave her $30 and told her to keep the change. Perhaps I am one of the last big spenders, lol. 🍕🍷
  3. That will not happen, laundry is a money spinner like the speshul restaurants, casinos and shorex.
  4. You are lucky you can eat what you like mate. For me it is a nightmare sometimes. On the ships it is generally ok, why I eat mostly at the buffets, wide range, I can pick and choose and ask the chefs. By the way my vet grandaughter told me there are gluten intolerant 🐕, fairly rare but they are out there.
  5. I thought mrs gut is coeliac or is it miss gut. Normal Pies a no, no for us types.
  6. Been to Nz 4 times, cruises and fly drive, including Tauranga, nice spot. The tour operators will make plenty, they subcontract to the cruise lines for tours at a price then the cruise line adds 30% or 40%. Agreed pax dont spend much on food etc, plenty of good stuff on their floating home.
  7. Oh yes, LOTR = Lord of the Rings, that Show made in Nu Ziland.
  8. I thought the food offerings at the IC were poor in comparison to those on other Princess ships. All I could get gf..coeliac was a stale little sponge cake, inedible. I loved the Horizon Court ate there many times, BLD, so much variety for those of us with serious dietary allergies.
  9. Just off Coral Princess. I was travelling solo but there were two beds that came down from ceiling. Ladder in closet. Balcony Cabin C333.
  10. Sure, most of the RATS are probably made in China 🇨🇳 anyway. One I used the other week pre Coral was.
  11. I only raised the subject as some pax currently reporting from Majestic on other social media are worried they might be refused entry at Tauranga. LOTR, not heard of that One, lol.
  12. Drambuie is a members special at the moment at Dans. I bought a bottle this arvo, $58, normally $72. But by the time I bought a bottle of Beenleigh Rum and a few bottles of Hardys Stamp vino, my wallet was $202 lighter, lol.
  13. Some restaurants here have provision on the bill for gratuities and many have the big glass cookie jar on the counter for tips.
  14. But what if a ship rolls in with 300 Covid pax? What will Jacinta do?
  15. Try Drambuie Lyle, I always have a bottle in my cabinet. Lubbly Jubbly.
  16. We only get 63 US Cents for the Aussie Dollar, horrible.
  17. Agree, more elbow and body room in the mini suit bath/shower combo. The shower cubicles in the ordinary cabins are horrible. I still have bruises on my elbow from C333 on Coral lol.
  18. You will miss the embarkation lunch today then, Horizon Court for you, good food in there plenty of variety....Enjoy.
  19. Maybe but with the package the money is in the till, if you know what I mean Mic.🤑
  20. And hopefully not Red, otherwise it will be a Government forced U turn back to Seattle, whence she came.🤐 Her reception from the NZ Government when she reaches Tauranga on 14 October will be an indicator as to her Covid state.😐
  21. AAAgh, no hot water !! When I was on Coral 13/9 to 22/9, I was in Cabin C333, one morning no hot water, plumber arrived that evening, thermostat in shower taps was kaput, so he put a new one in. Perhaps that was the problem with yours. Plumber told me he sometimes replaces a dozen shower thermostats a day on the ship, wear and tear.
  22. $100 to $150 is average now for a degustation menu, I think the one I had at the golf club a couple of months ago was $150, but included a quality wine with each of the 6 courses.
