Tips, I call it the AWS - Automatic Wage Subsidy. In other words Carnival Corp don't want to pay the full amount of the service crew wage, they want another donation from pax. Should be like Princess ships in Australia and UK I think, daily auto tip of $15 whatever if included in your overall fare and unable to be removed. Thus there is no need for further tipping.

When their days of stardom are gone, you may see them on the cruiseships in 30 years, lol.

Julie...One way of finding out the number of cases is to patrol the corridors on each deck and see how many tables are placed against cabin doors (for the food drop.) I saw a couple on last Coral cruise I was on with you and others, 13 Sept to 22 Sept. Young Mic (MicCanberra) also said he saw a few. Yep, mask up people, protect yourself and others. Indeed I had Salmon a couple of times on Coral. I gave the shrimp cocktail with lemon myrtle sauce a whirl too, but some nights asked for thousand island dressing on them instead of the lemon stuff.

No wonder they are still dying like flies in the Land of Tipping, UK as well. I think some of these pax on their way here, from USA, doing Trans Pacific and few if any mask requirements, well certainly not mandatory anyway, will have have a shock if they stay on board to do the cruises in Aust/NZ where mask mandate is current. They will not be happy little cruisers.

The Elite pax might donate a few mini bottles of spirits. I drank all mine, traded them in for that awful Aussie Whisky, Starward, something like that. Had to mix them with coke or dry ginger ale.

As an Aussie, why would you tip extra when you pay on board auto gratuities? In Australia your gratuity is rolled into your fare, no additional tipping required. In the past many Aussies were taking the auto gratuity off, hence now paid as part of fare, likewise with the Brits. Way to go. I call the auto tip the AWS..Automatic Wage Subsidy, lol.
