  1. I was in Aqua Class on the Summit last November during Thanksgiving Week and we did have to wait two nights, about 20 mins. Blu is a small dining room on M-Class ships and we do enjoy eating prime time at 7pm. we were given pagers and yes it was a bit annoying but we sat in Cellar Masters and had a drink while we waited. Also a heads up, there's a table for two in Blu in the rear on the left side that is in a TERRIBLE location and it was routinely rejected by everyone. Most of the two tables are in the rear and sides of the dining room.

  3. There was a similar post from a regular poster here, I think his screen name is STOCKJOCK and had a similar experience booking a new cruise, but he finally got it straighten out. It may be a programming blip/error but you can be 100% sure there no charge to have the beds put together or apart. To think otherwise is simply foolish.
  4. Blu on M-Class ships is a small dining room. On the Summit we did indeed have to wait about 20 mins on two nights when we went at 7:00pm.
  5. NO, not necessarily. The OP needs to speak to BCC to see if always included is in fact included. BCC upgrades can be cruise only OR Always included. What the OP will 100% get is access to all the Retreat amenities. But the Classic drinks package, Wifi, and tips aren't part of the standard amenities. If I was the OP I would call BCC and verify. I've done multiple BCC cruises, some with always included, but most BCC Retreat upgrades are CRUISE ONLY.
  6. It's Bougainvillea. You'll find it all over the world, Mexico is also famous for it. https://insightsgreece.com/growing-bougainvillea-greece-cherished-flower/
  7. There's a bus from Fira to Oia and the same bus back from Oia to Fira. https://santorinisecrets.com/santorini-bus-schedule/
  8. No, absolutely not. If it happens it's a mistake and a call to Celebrity will solve the problem. But 100% no charge.
  9. Wouldn't it be much easier taking a silicone ice tray?
  10. The Deli or Pizzeria is an excellent alternative on the Pride. The food in those two places were consistently better than the buffet food. The OP's experience was the same as ours in May and June on the Pride.
  11. Pretty excited that we just booked the Luminosa for next year's TP from Seattle back to Brisbane,AU. A 30!!!!cruise with some amazing ports; 2 in Alaska. 5 in Japan, 1 in the Philippines, 1 in Indonesia, ending in Brisbane. And the best part, it's a comped Casino cruise!!! Sept.14-Oct. 15, 2023. https://www.carnival.com/itinerary/30-day-transpacific-cruise/seattle/luminosa/30-days/jt0?abCode=&currency=USD&evsel=J&hideSailingEvents=true&itinportcode=sea&locality=1&military=N&numGuests=2&offerCode=&pastGuest=N&promoCode=&rateCode=&roomType=IS&sailDate=09142023&senior=N&smp=Y
  12. TBH they are default dining room extensions for dinner service since the two main dining rooms cannot handle the capacity of a full ship without utilizing the tables at Chibang and Cucina. That is why you won't see cover charges in these restaurants on Excel-Class ships. Celebration and Jubilee hold even more passengers than the Mardi Gras!
  13. So you're now doubting multiple articles, including an article written by the owners of this forum, that Dynamic Dining Classic on the Anthem didn't rotate dining rooms AND staff like it is on DCL? What about the wait staff? Another benefit of Dynamic Dining Classic is that your wait staff move with you through the dining rotation. Our waiter, Manilow, accompanied us through our four restaurant rotation. We did not have an assigned assistant waiter or bar server, but we saw many of the same individuals each night. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2016/07/16/everything-you-need-know-about-dynamic-dining-classic
  14. Hope you get it, the bathroom is SO much nicer! 🤞
  15. I personally have never tipped any MaitreD on any cruiseline. It is a salaried position.
  16. Agreed, and the step houses, an optional side tour, bests anything you'll see in Pompeii. I was amazed to see indoor plumbing!
  17. Self disembarkation uber/Lyft or taxi to airport domestic to East Coast carryon only No premium Airline status TSA Precheck If we miss the early flight then the next available flight Having said all this we may go the opposite way and have a later flight after 9:00pm and rent a car to do some post-cruise touring in the LA area. Fares for red eye flights are the lowest cost. Currently the airfare from East coast to LA area are very expensive, over $500 rt. The week of the cruise is public school Winter Recess for many East Coast schools, which exacerbate the situation. But we're traveling with family members that have to travel that week.
  18. I'll be sailing on the 2/18/23 Solstice Mexican Riviera cruise. What would be the earliest flight from SNA/John Wayne or LAX Airport we can take on disembarkation? Would a 10AM flight work? It would be a Saturday. Thanks for any contributions!
  19. You have to do a coffee plantation tour if you're going to Kona. https://www.lovebigisland.com/kona-coffee-tasting/
  20. Not correct. Royal's Dynamic Dining CLASSIC, since discontinued, did indeed rotate BOTH Dining venues AND Service Staff. As I said it was a disaster since NO ONE liked it. No other cruiseline will attempt this since this is an OLD concept of having the same service staff serve you every night. As I said, Virgin will never implement this and would shut down before ever instituting rotational dining. https://www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=2007
  21. If that is make or break I would change to a Sea Terrace XL,a suite or not sail VV. The bathroom in any VV cabin other than a sea terrace XL Or Rockstar suite is tiny tiny. The cabins in anything other than a suite are also small with no storage whatsoever. Edit: If you look at the videos below the shower in the Seview is about half the size of the NCL Club Balcony Suites. The bathroom is also literally half the size. The shower in SL XL Sea Terrace is a square shaped box that's a decent size, and the way the bathroom is setup two people can use it at the same time.
  22. Unfortunately what you're trying to do isn't available. The options you have is to buy a Premium water package or buy water a la carte when needed, but you can't buy water in advance to be delivered to the cabin. FYI, the 'regular' bottled water on Celebrity are in aluminum bottles with a screw cap. If you want other types of water they have premium branded water in glass bottles, which of course are more money.
  23. The wristbands are given out at check-in.
  24. Sounds like Virgin isn't necessarily the best fit for you then. You want the elements of a traditional cruise experience which is the antithesis of what the whole Virgin Voyages concept is. A fixed, rotational dinner experience is something that would NEVER, happen at VV. As you can see it's a concept that only Disney has implemented. Royal tried it and it failed miserably. Celebrity's E-Class ship has four main dining rooms each with it's own personality and specialty menu items but isn't a rotational concept, and it's extremely well received. There's apparently a reason the fixed rotational dining room concept hasn't been adopted on other cruiselines;it's not popular.
  25. If you're on YTD and still want the same wait staff that can only be done by requesting that service team's section at the restaurant host desk once your reservation is available.
