  1. $20 per person per day - the regular price of the package is $100 pp/pd you pay the gratuities based on 20% of that cost. Max drink price allowed on the plan that's included is $15. 4 drinks per day between 2 passengers in the room and you easily break even. When you consider that some lines have limitations - some allow you to only get one at a time while NCL allows two, some have a per-day limit on how many you can have while NCL does not restrict in that way - the package isn't as bad of a deal as some make it out to be.
  2. As a fellow solo traveler I can understand where that would be embarrassing and upsetting. The manner in which solo travelers are supported is one reason I've enjoyed my NCL cruises, though for 2 of 3 it turned out to not really matter anyway but the option was there if I wanted or needed it.
  3. This is at the discretion of the airline servicing the flight. Delta allows cabin upgrades once you have the record locator, UA and AA may as well. International airlines seem to be more selective in that regard.
  4. That's because your cruise wasn't during the dry dock happening in October that this thread was discussing. It seems that ship has no cruise that week, I wonder if this is a new way of advising of the ship being chartered?
  5. Actually - quite opposite. You claim your bag then go through customs with your bag. If you're then transferring to a domestic flight there will be bag drops for each airline after you pass through customs. Depending on the flight direction you're asking about, you MAY pre-clear customs before boarding the plane. As for the connection times - if the airline allowed the flights to be booked then they meet the minimum connection time standard for the airport. If the airline finds that some condition is going to cause you to miss your connecting flight they may automatically rebook you on a later flight. It's happened to me - I had a flight from Vancouver connecting in Chicago, after I booked my flight they started construction that closed the shuttle train between terminals so it was decided that my original connection that met the MCT was no longer valid and rebooked me WHILE I WAS ON MY CRUISE for a later flight out of Chicago. When I checked in at the gate at YVR they told me what the deal was. The flight arrived at ORD early and I had enough time to get to the earlier flight, which I was able to get back on.
  6. That seems like more of a Carnival-specific situation, if not just something that crew member specifically did.
  7. What I planned to do in March, and didn't fully implement, was to have a Google Drive folder containing PDF files of all the documentation I needed. I then made it available offline (cached locally on my phone AND tablet) and pinned it to my home screen (because I can with Android devices) so it was quickly accessible. The part about not fully implementing it - I didn't get my vaccine card or COVID test into there as I planned on relying on those apps. Fortunately the WiFi was pretty good and I got the apps working just as I got to the screeners. Yes, rather than waiting until I got to the screeners I was working on getting things pulled up as soon as I entered the building, spending my time in the line making sure things worked so as not to waste their time or that of the folks behind me while I fumbled with everything. The only documents that made it in there were my cruise boarding pass, my hotel confirmation and my airline reservation.
  8. That was the typical sea temps in Southern NJ when I'd go in July and we'd dive right in!
  9. I did Bermuda on RCI in late April in 2014. It's a shock I've been on 4 more cruises since then. Unable to be on deck on sea days due to winds and storm conditions. The time IN Bermuda was amazing, but the trip there and back were rough seas and storms. Others have had different experiences. The real answer is - it depends on the weather at the time of your trip.
  10. If you don't decline the perk at the time of booking you pay the gratuities as an extra line-item on the fare.
  11. Found this post by using the drop-down at the top of the topic listing to search for all posts related to the Bliss. The year is wrong (says 2023 in the thread title).
  12. It should be fine. They've done it with photo ID and birth certificate, the card is slightly better. The adults could do it if their state has enhanced DL's (NOT RealID, ENHANCED) and they have one.
  13. I see 3, Celebrity Summit in addition to Oasis and Adventure. http://www.cruiseliberty.com/cruise_info.html
  14. FCC or CruiseNext? I imagine they're CruiseNext. The $500 ones are technically CruiseNext HAVEN Deposits but apparently CAN be used for any stateroom. Here are the T&C's for the CND program - https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions#cruisenext
  15. I showed my result from the Navica app when I boarded in Miami in March
  16. In all honesty - for a trip of 100 miles it's more time-efficient to just drive it. It's less than 2 hours to drive it, you'll spend that much time just in the airport if you arrive the suggested 2 hours before the flight. I'm not sure what NCL would charge for the flight but I'd just put that money toward the cost of fuel.
  17. The cost varies by the port. In LA I believe it was $40 each way.
  18. No, you choose the airport you fly FROM, NCL can choose the airport you fly to. It actually looks like NCL MAY substitute your home airport with another within 60 miles if the flights work out better. Here's the wording on the promo terms - Norwegian Cruise Line reserves the right to select an alternate airport within 60 miles based on itinerary, choose the air carrier, routing and city airport from each gateway city and reserves the right to substitute commuter service and/or charter air service for scheduled air carriers without prior notice. Most likely it'll be a flight to LAX..
  19. TECHNICALLY, at PC the ship sails away from the sunset. Yes, I know it's a turn of phrase to mean "sails off without you"...
  20. There are two in progress now for Prima and Viva. Prima just did a sea trials run...
  21. It was at one time. I don't see it listed, it may not have restarted yet.
  22. Am I? ok, the quote tag wasn't used but it was certainly called out in a post on page 2...
  23. Since you seem to have skipped the post with the letter in it, or didn't read the entire thing as you claim to have done, here are the pertinent passages from the letter: This post, and someone else broke it down in the same way in another post -
  24. It was quoted in a subsequent post if you keep reading the thread instead of stopping at a post you take exception to..
  25. Start here: https://www.ncl.com/about/cancellation-fee-schedule On that page is this line item - Name changes and departure date changes are considered reservation cancellations and are subject to the above cancellation fees. Read into that what you will. Some lines do allow for replacing ONE passenger in a room, but at least one of names from the original booking must stay. As both are needing to cancel you very likely need to surrender the balcony. Did you book direct or with a TA? A TA MIGHT be able to work some magic so it's worth asking them. Your biggest challenge becomes the accessible nature of the balcony cabin.
