  1. It's more a question of if they've gone back to the original muster process. When I sailed in March I was sent a link (THREE TIMES) to the muster video and I was then guided directly to my muster station upon embarkation. I don't know if NCL has changed from this process. I'm not sure when you last sailed or on which ship, but when I sailed on NCL in 2019 (both times) there was a mix of specialty restaurant types, some were a cover charge, some were a-la-carte. The a-la-carte is not really new. You can definitely ring up a big bill at one of those venues. I ran up $78 at Le Bistro and $81 at Cagney's (and that wasn't even including my crab cake appetizer!) You should be able to book shows (I think just the two main theater shows) when you can book restaurants, but NCL has held back the opportunity to book shows recently. I believe go-karts and laser tag can only be booked on board but your pre-cruise Haven concierge might be able to work some magic for you in this regard. None You tell the server when they first visit you if you plan to use one of your UDP meals. They will likely ask. If you get the free-at-sea promo you can buy an upgrade for 2 additional meals at a good price if you want more, this may be a pre-cruise deal only.
  2. Actually, the 2 items asked after the word 'questions' don't mention the gratuities or excursions, they asked if they should expect their CND's refunded and how long it should take. I guess we were both wrong....
  3. Europe is VERY different from the US/Canada. Pre-pandemic there were lots of cruises that did "interporting" where passengers embarked and disembarked at several ports on the route. Everyone may have been on for the same amount of time but their cruises started on different days. The only time you would see similar cruises is on Panama Canal repositioning cruises where some might sail Miami to LA or Miami to San Francisco or go all the way from Miami to Seattle or Vancouver. The port stops in Colombia or Panama allowed for this as they are considered "distant foreign ports" for the purpose of the PVSA.
  4. I wouldn't wait until exactly 75 days, I would call before that. No need to book it through them, I didn't.
  5. That may be a valid route for the pre-paid gratuities and excursions, yes. Doing a CC dispute for the fare because the cruise line is sticking to the cancellation policy and you don't like it is not a winning proposition.
  6. First - I hope your husband is recovering from whatever had him in the hospital. You would need to review the cancellation policy for your region to find what you're entitled to receive for refund of the cruise fare. Your TA should know this as well. If you took out insurance, most likely a claim against the insurance is your course of action.
  7. Someone in the first thread I linked indicated it could be used to upgrade the beverage plan, I would think the internet plan would also qualify if the beverage plan does. This was also mentioned in the first thread I linked. If you read the document I linked, it mentions that it is not redeemable for cash, this is in section 7. It also says in that section that unused credit is forfeited, meaning it would be 'non-refundable'. Yes, you need to read the entire document to find this info. Some of the exclusions (some also mentioned in that document) for using non-refundable are the DSC (discretionary service charge, or daily gratuity) and CruiseNext purchases. The CruiseNext is an odd one as the OBC you get credited for the purchase is non-refundable but THAT credit is allowed to be used to offset the cost of the CND.
  8. ah - I read 'next September' as "September 2023"
  9. Here are a couple previous threads and a pre-filled search of this forum in case you want more info.. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/search/?q=refundable&quick=1&type=forums_topic&nodes=64&updated_after=any&sortby=relevancy&search_in=titles
  10. You should have this PDF available in your shareholder documentation, but I found it with a quick Google search (it was the first result when I searched for 'ncl shareholder benefit'). It seems it's non-refundable so it would carry the restrictions associated with that, some of which are spelled out in the document. 11. I believe #3 on this page answers your question (and is the same as #3 in that section on the link you quoted) - https://www.ncl.com/terms/cruisefirst I wouldn't be surprised if it gets extended (again)...
  12. Yup, me too. I bring a couple Nalgene bottles and an aluminum vacuum-insulated bottle and I'm good for a day of shore excursion.
  13. There should be no "hoping", if you're more than 75 days out you or your TA can call NCL and ask for the deviation to be added. If you're less than 75 until sailing you can't. Unless your cruise/ship is one of those mentioned in the T&C's linked earlier in the thread by me, the deadline is noted in those cases.
  14. The hull/superstructure construction will be different people than the finishing team. I doubt they've shifted workers to get Prima done.
  15. There is a way - https://www.ncl.com/freestyle-cruise/premium-air The perk air is different, one of the 'drawbacks' is that you give up control over your flight schedule.
  16. I've experienced it both ways in LA (San Pedro). The first time the driver and NCL agent told us to leave the bags up to them and just proceed to the security line. The second time I had to get my bag from the bus to the porters near the terminal. Both were in 2019.
  17. Correct. Make sure they drop the transfers as my experience was that the transfers were still on my fare even though I had the deviation. That seems to be the current timeline, it could be as early as 45 days before the cruise. You could call them today and make all those changes. The restriction is the latest you can make those changes. Just be sure to get a new summary showing the requested changes.
  18. or just figure out which ones are the biggest and have a 'universal' set. Selling a holder as being for a specific line is such a marketing ploy to get you to buy a new set when you go on a different cruise line.
  19. The transfer cost seems to be dependent on the port city, and it was an additional line-item on my cruise fare when I used the air perk in 2019. I could have declined the transfer and booked my own transportation but I asked too late. The transfer cost in LA was $40 per person each way, if I recall correctly.
  20. NCL actually REWARDS you now for planning ahead and flying to the embarkation city a day or two in advance. I don't know why they chose to do this, but it's a nice gesture for sure.
  21. The wording in the T&Cs for the promo are that you get a $25 credit per deviation. Yes, you can do a deviation on both ends. https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions I stayed near the airport and used the hotel's free shuttle to go back for the cruise line transfer. You can also ask to have it removed and arrange your own transportation to the terminal. I only flew in one day before the cruise and had no sightseeing plans for that day since it was a cross-country flight and I had to be up VERY early on the East coast to catch it. I booked my own but you might be able to work with NCL to have them book something.
  22. On my first cruise (after which it's amazing I've taken 4 more!) both the self-attached cruise line tags and the normal luggage tag were torn off my bag. I was at guest services at 9 PM the first night looking for my bag as it was never delivered. The tags were torn off somewhere between the curb and the ship. Ever since then I use the plastic sleeves with a metal grommet (the CC ones don't have those) and a screw-together wire loop. Haven't had a bag or a tag go missing since.
