  1. I was on the Joy last year, on the cruise after a reduced-speed cruise due to an Azipod issue. I dined in the Manhattan Room 5 of the 7 nights and don't recall a noticeable vibration that would be disturbing. Yes, they will certainly take the opportunity while she's 'dry' to do some service on the Azipods. What level of service I don't personally know.
  2. LOL - I did the same thing last night!! I was sitting around, pondering what I did with them (they gave me two Silver pins when I asked on my last cruise, I'll get my Gold pin while on my next and Platinum on the one after), walked into my second bedroom with the intent of going through the pockets on my luggage that's stored in there and I just happened to glance right at the spot where I had put them! It was a real quick search...
  3. They could be any 5 from a rotation of 14-21, there is no set selection of them for a particular itinerary.
  4. I'm sure there was some work done in 2020 after the pandemic shut things down, but I know with certainty that the Asia-North America transition happened in April 2019. Google to the rescue!!
  5. That was actually done in early 2019, I was on the Bliss sailing North as the Joy was sailing South from Seattle after having the work completed.
  6. Now that I think about it... on the Bliss in 2019 there were people complaining that the door on the starboard side was not propped open as the one on the port side was for the nightly meet. Those ships have identical Studio areas.
  7. There should be, there are on other decks.
  8. The Studio cabins near the entrances on deck 11 are 11501, 11529, 11519.
  9. I believe that is for the NCL Premium Air, different from the BOGO promo. "Customized air arrangements" being the key phrase.
  10. Link? This may be NEW information! Pre-cruise, and you won't get your flights at the 75-day mark...
  11. Not all cabin types on all sailings on all ships offer this. I'm currently stalking a Panama Canal cruise - an inside cabin is coming up as guarantee only, no option to pick the cabin. I would think inside cabins wouldn't be full on a PC cruise. This is actually odd as NCL's site lists only one price for inside cabins while an online TA lists several different cabin types (different decks) for insides, with all but deck 5 costing considerably more than NCL's offering of a cabin on ANY of the decks. I'm considering booking direct and getting something a little higher in the ship and giving up the $400 I could save with the TA ($100 OBC plus they cover the DSC).
  12. I would sign that petition! Sadly, I doubt it would help...
  13. When I sailed the Joy last year the comedians each did a night in the comedy club and a night in the theater. Oddly - comedy club was the all-ages show and the theater was the adult-content show. When I sailed the Escape earlier this year the comedians were only in Headliners and one was the same as I saw on the Joy the previous year, he did the same set.
  14. I haven't seen him posting recently, but a resident former NCL chief engineer said that corp. policy is to NOT open any dividers. While it may be possible to open the dividers, apparently cabin stewards are advised to close them if found open. You can certainly ask, expect the answer to be 'no'.
  15. Having read the thread and reviewing my cruise history on NCL, I signed up for the card. I'm planning a cruise for next year, so as soon as I get the card I could drop $1,000 of the fare onto the card and I instantly get the bonus points for signing up. It's not going to be a cheap one, I may just bank the points to use towards my 2025 cruise though. I'll still use other cards for some things (when they do bonus points categories, and both allow points usage directly on Amazon, I couldn't tell you the last time I fully paid for an Amazon order) but aside from that it will be the NCL card to build the points. Funny aside - my parents sail on Princess and have a Princess CC, they had to have the roof on their house re-shingled and the roofer allowed them to use a CC, guess which one they used. Talk about banking points...
  16. I've had one call me (she called TWICE after my cruise this Spring and I didn't even book it using her!) and I get emails from NCL with her name at the top. I emailed her yesterday, looking to possibly book my next trip and it's been crickets! I'll give her through the weekend, then I'll probably just use my CND to at least hold the room at the current pricing.
  17. I might just need to book the trip I'm considering, it would be one of the final cruises with the show! I loved that show.
  18. Even before getting into letting them know in advance - every time the solo group was sat for dinner, before the rolls were placed on the table, the table was asked if there were any food allergies. They are VERY conscious of this, the last thing they want is for someone to get sick on their watch.
  19. and once you've dined together once the system will link them. I'm a solo and met some people during embarkation that I ended up dining with all cruise (by THEIR invite, I offered to leave them on their own), once we dined together once the subsequent nights the host asked if the other cabin was there when one checked in.
  20. Yeah, I kind of mentioned that venue back in post 9, I don't think the kitchen is visible on all ships...
  21. Yeah, I'm contemplating it for the cruise I'm looking at. The inside price does not go up if I add in airfare so that notice you saw is confusing...
  22. I believe this applies primarily to the airfare portion. No, they won't charge you 2x in a Studio in order to get the FAS perks, and I'm currently pricing a cruise in a standard inside cabin that is not forcing 2x pricing to get the FAS perks (nor for the BOGO airfare, actually, so I'm not really sure WHERE that comes into play). As for the Studio and needing to book early - on the new ship, maybe, but there are so many Studio cabins on the newer NCL ships (how many do the Prima and Viva have? BA+ have 86 on each ship) that booking early isn't as imperative as it is with Royal where there are fewer than 30 (Anthem has 16 inside and 6 Studio Balcony).
  23. I seem to recall reading recently that someone (maybe it was @Sailing12Away?) was contacted as the route that NCL could get for them involved an overnight, either at the destination or at a layover, and they wanted to give the option to take that or look for a different flight somehow.
  24. I had a burger on the Joy in 2022, from The Local, it was a GREAT burger, nearly on par with what I'd get at a local restaurant where I live. The patty was thick and juicy, really good. Some on the ship were saying the burgers from there were better than American Diner, and you PAID EXTRA for the AD ones!! FFWD to 2023, on the Escape. Ordered the same burger. It was good, but the patty seemed like one you'd get at the buffet with the additional toppings added.
