You can buy the package mid cruise but at full freight so not a good idea. If you want it get it as soon as you embark. Any bartender will be happy to get you signed up. American $$$ is the standard currency aboard,
Skagway has a high end jewelry store every three or four doors - all owned by the cruise lines. Very high pressure - they will all but drag you in by your hair.
