  1. Preexisting conditions are covered when insurance is purchased within 14 days of deposit
  2. I agree, for Teppanyaki it does make sense with the limited seating and times.
  3. Always love insurance threads….ligit claim only $198 paid. Need WAY more detail to determine anything other than we know the OP is not happy. Also love people who think the ONLY reason to get insurance is when the trip costs a lot. In actuality, the majority of claims are for medical and the issues that result vs recovering cruise costs.
  4. Right now there is tremendous demand and they have tremendous debt. To expect sizable change on what you describe as cutbacks would be……overly optimistic. If you are good with that, great. If not, so be it.
  5. Hearing some of their shutdown experiences, including being repatriated to their home countries after the shut down were amazing to hear.
  6. Covid and the shut down and the economic situation that followed have made a mark on cruising, at Carnival and all of the lines. Some are harder hit than others. There are changes where they have had to adapt. We have cruised 6 times since the start up. Just before we started, we were invited to the MG naming ceremony (we did a side to side on Horizon and MG 3 days later. At the ceremony and the celebration that followed, we had a chance to sit down for a drink with a Carnival exec and good friend. He said something that showed me the impact all of that had on the company (and it affects cruising today). The first thing was as he related it, how much they all put into the start and the cost (both financial and people that were no longer with the company. The second, when I asked what would happen of there was another shut down, he said that there simply could not be another, the industry and Carnival could not survive it. Those first two cruises were on half filled ships and there were things that were there before and not thre then. That said, it was wonderful to cruise again. Every single employee we talked to, thanked us for coming back, it was heartfelt. Each and every cruise (multiple homeports and ships) has gotten better, more of the FUN that IS Carnival. Is it all the way back? No. Will it get there? Not sure.
  7. What Jeff says is 100% correct. My post is the number of bars and their location (many closer than this bar is. The point is the MG and Celebration are hybrids from the typical “lobby bar” on all other Carnival ships.
  8. JH this morning discussed this. MG only, not currently on Clebration.
  9. The design of Celebration (and Mardi Gras and future Jubilee) is unique. There is a much broader area than the classical atriums on other Carnival ships. From where you embark, there are 5 bars on multible floors surrounding the area.
  10. Port Everglades is a contractual thing, I do not see that changing any time soon, San Juan is way more complicated. When Carnival sailed from there, the ship (which ever it was) also home ported in Barbados for European cruisers. Of course they would not have to return to that model, but history is always a good lesson of the future. The second consideration is the ship, Carnival’s recent experience was to put one of their oldest ships to home pot in SJU. When asked, their response was the itin was the driver for sju, not the ship..
  11. Was there any announcements on the mix of the clientele (USA, Aussies, etc)? Just curious.
  12. My guess those comments also are good for all including thought on the cruise line. Nothing good happens when bashing occurs
  13. Thanks for the link to the review, and nice job. I agree on your views of year round sailing out of NYC. It will be interesting to see how it works this time for Carnival. Last time with Splendor she was sailing half full in winter months.
  14. Ummm that would be a stretch. Having an issue and them being the bad line with a rap is NOT what I interpret. Them realizing that CRUISING has an issue they are being proactive, now I would buy that
  15. Understand, the different home ports bring a somewhat different clientele, and they may or may not bring with them cultural differences. On that we can agree. Not necessarily on you, but it was implied that this meant Carnival was worse than other lines that sailed with this mix.
  16. All part of why Christine has come out with a policy to deal with this very subject. The reason for my posts was in reference to a poster that more or less said it was CARNIVAL that had the issue. I have seen unruly people on many lines, it happens. To single out a particular line is pure folly.
